DIY: Paint Inlay on a Jean Jacket

- Let's try using a paint inlay on a jean jacket. I have different jean jackets that I recently thrifted, so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to try one with Mod Podge for Fabric and the other with Liquid Patina by DIY. We will see what one works the best and I can't wait to try this new technique out.

I have been thrifting Jean jackets & vests for a couple years. I have 2 closets full. Got them to redo, embellish, bleach, etc. This is another great idea! Hope it works!😊

Watching the replay. Plaid has some videos on using the fabric modpodge. You can decoupage napkins and fabric on shoes! It dries soft and is washable!

Just curious what you would sell those for? If you do the pockets and the cuff on the sleeve also. Girl I have no doubt you can get $80-$90 easily for those jackets. I know I would pay that they look absolutely amazing. thank you so much for the inspiration .

I’m on replay, too. I paint unicorns on little girls jeans jackets to sell with fabric paint.
Check the way the cedar will take the paint. It has something to do with the tannins. I used almost a quart of white chalk paint on a cedar desk.

I am sorry I didn’t catch it live but I still wanted to add Mark pod comes in a dishwasher safe form and I’m not sure which mod pod you used but there is one that holds up a little better than just the regular mod podge so hopefully you already knew that if not I’m sorry I missed you live but I just love your stuff everything you make turns out so gorgeous!!! I would also suggest that in regards to your drying time laying on like a cookie drying rack so that the air can get underneath. I have painted several pairs of my jeans using oil based Paint pens and they have lasted forever in fact the jeans fell apart before the paint ever wore off but I don’t know what the paint inlays are made of.

going tohave to try this. I've been thirfting jackets to embroider on but now I've had to try this. by the way do you have a town that you really like in door county. we're looking for a house or condo that holds seven adults.
Really need to mist paint while applying to denim to let it act as a dye to material . Without you may get cracks
I wondered if you put a sealer over the inlay on the mod podge one? I was thinking it would need a sealer on top...
