    So great to see this! Most of the soapmaking tutorials seem to be about the cold process, and I am interested in learning how to do soap from wood-ashes up, so to speak. Thank you so much for sharing this!

    LOVE the grinder attachment for your stick blender.
    For folks without a grinder though, you can also buy oat flour in the organic section of your grocery store, or online through Bob's Red Mill.
    Oat flour is a wonderful additive to soap, and also makes a nice facial just plain mixed with a little water.

    Love your video, it showed all the important parts and non of the long drawn out parts. I felt right at home since I have two boys that would do the exact same thing to me when I'm on the phone. This will be my first time using milk. I plan to use coconut milk. I hope it work the same as goats milk.

    I do mine like that. Less complications and is actually healthier because your not over heating the milk or other things your using vs all water. Adding last to anything always... well, usually gives more benefits.

    Thank you for this great tutorial! You have a wonderful relaxed manner and good suggestion for adding the cold goat milk at the end. What is the total cook time, after you add your oats? Mine seems to be ready in an hour (on Low). Is that about right?

    I found the same thing with Coconut scents, they either fade or morph in CP, but they stick better & stay truer in HP.

    Subscribed! Love HP - have never used "real" goats milk - only powdered - and I love that you used dividers for your soap - I am terrible at cutting too - thank you - great soap! - Melissa.

    • @w8n2xhl
      @w8n2xhl 9 лет назад +1

      sunshine.janice walker I've replaced all the water with buttermilk (froze into ice cubes to mix with lye) and it was the creamiest soap I've made. My husband loves it.

    • @w8n2xhl
      @w8n2xhl 9 лет назад

      Just make sure you freeze it and then you pour the lye right over the ice cubes VERY SLOWLY and mix a little at time (just as you would add one egg at a time to a batter)

      @SecondSpringSoaps  10 лет назад +2

      Recipe is a trade secret. :o) But a good recipe to start out with is 75% olive oil, 15% coconut oil and 10% castor. Just plug that into a soap calculator and it will give you the measurements!

      if you get a lye burn you put vinegar on it

    • @mochs62512
      @mochs62512 6 лет назад +2

      @@dollartreereviews9747 no no no!!! NEVER put vinegar on a lye byrn. It will cause an exothermic reaction and make your burn worse. Use cold water only on lye burns! Vinegar is fine to clean up spills on your countertop but NEVER on your skin!!
