I think because it's a pop song, Jon really wanted to make a cheeseball video and sort of "mock" the mainstream because that's the "popular thing" to do. This record is great though, and anyone saying Jon lost his signature sound, listen to the bass ripping it in the chorus! I have listened to this album start to finish probably 20 times and I LOVE it. If you don't like it now, it will grow on you, trust me. Another thing with Jon's music is it's very visual, so when I listen to his music, I think of the green little monster creating these sounds in my head, sort of like a mad scientist. Visualizing the music helps bring it to a completely new perspective.. And Jon being such a visual artist, it's an important thing I think for the listener to do in order to completely understand where he is coming from when he writes this stuff.

Feed me is so underappreciated as an artist. His production is perfection.
Not only is he really great musically but his visual art is amazing too. Overall super talented guy! I wish he would make more music as spor though!
