    I almost bought one of the AC10s. After trying out the AC30, AC15, AC15VR, AC10, AV30 and AV60, I actually bought the AV60. I just thought it gave me the best of all worlds, awesome cleans, great crunch, great overdrive sounds, plenty of volume and a lot of versatility. I find it plays and reacts like a 100% tube amp.
    Main reason I went for it was the fact it is 2 channel and you can set either channel up as you want. Unlike some where you have 1 clean and 1 dirty, or only certain controls on certain channels.
    Loving it so far and would highly recommend trying one out. They are well priced at the moment too.

      You probably did the right thing, I've just bought the AC10 and it's too loud for home use plus it hates all my drive pedals, it's not very versatile, you need a good reason to buy one, I'm thinking of sending mine back

    One of my fav Dagan videos! Ive owned this amp 2 times over the last few years. Now I have a Waza tube expander and I can plug this AC10 into any speaker I want, of any rating over 4ohms, and can still attenuate (love the TAE- pricey but solves a lot of problems). Greenback? Sure. And I can use IR's, too. Celestion Gold? You bet. Eminence/Jensen whatever? No problem.

  • @JeremyLeech
    @JeremyLeech 3 года назад +7

    I always come back to this amp. Its small, but loud! I did replace the speaker to a Celestion 10" G10 Greenback. What a HUGE difference. Sounds more like a 12 inch speaker. Seems to have gotten even louder haha. I replaced the tubes too, cause the original ones went out.
    Update: I put a creamback in it and it truly rips now.

    Does this Vox truly work at lower bedroom volumes? I'm looking for an amp that can do really low apartment-level volume and still could potentially be used for jamming and small gigs (the holy grail?). Happy to use pedals as I understand getting amp breakup would have me instantly evicted.

    • @PMTVUK
      @PMTVUK  6 лет назад +8

      Hi Chris, this is definitely a great option for your apartment, as you can get a great sound at lower volumes. For smaller gigs, this is a great option as you can get some nice sounds out of it when cranked and mic'd up. -Lee

    • @chris710schneider8
      @chris710schneider8 6 лет назад +4

      Yes! It does it amazingly. I've always fucked with small tube amps and never even gone as high as 10 watts. And usually used 5 Watt amps or some that had attenuators. I had a version the Actv4 that you could get 1/4 watt outta it and it was one of the better versions but this thing is fabulous at low volumes. Just make hairline movements with the gain and volume knobs and you can dial in fat tones at bedroom levels. Real deal. When I was at motor City guitar I kept playing a bunch of amplifiers that I could not afford like dr. Z's and other hand wired masterpieces. Then I plugged in to my AC10c1 limited edition white bronco(same amp different color) and was blown away. Got a great price and fantastic amp that sounds great at normal levels but like I said it holds that tone at very low levels. Worth every cent and a few tweaks and mods and it can be as good as any high end boutique amp.

    This or a Fender Champion. I need an amp I can practice at home with in the bedroom but one I can also use for practicing with a drummer (if ever get out of lockdown again). I most play sixties inspired stuff, especially the Beatles and the Kinks, but I also like 90s british bands like Teenage Fanclub.

      Scott McNeil I can only speak for the AC30 that I own, but the AC10 seems to be in the ballpark, and for me using an EVH 5150 Overdrive I get some awesome Hard Rock pushing to metal tones. Obviously not the full on gainy sounds of bands like maybe Killswitch or Lamb of God, but you can play metal with a more vintage tone that will make you sound different, which to me honestly makes the sound more unique than what most metal bands are currently using.
