Djokovic took the 2013 US Open final loss to Nadal very very personally...has since gone on to win 9 consecutive matches (19 consecutive sets) on HC against Nadal ever since that match. Nadal's been avoiding Djokovic on grass since 2018 Wimbledon and on hard since 2020 ATP Cup (when Nadal was crying because the crowd were pro-Djokovic for the first time ever and the salty sore loser couldn't handle it lol).
This is true even today, just replace nadal with alcaraz. Alcaraz obviously is much younger, but if he would have met Djokovich in his prime, I bet Djoko would have defeated him very easily, considering at 37 Djoko is able to still win 3 out of 5 matches against Alcaraz. Djoko has lost his speed, and strength to a very obvious lesser level, but he still has technique. Whatever Alcaraz is today, Nadal was even bigger then. Djoko is truly the GOAT, only sitting alongside Federer, who has achived the similar level.
No doubt Nole played fantastic, but there was also a specific context and the explanation was given by Rafa himself after the match. Rafa's injury was stopping him for doing the proper preparation before that AO. His fitness / endurance / preparation was severely altered and, as a result, he had to play much more aggressive than his usual style. This fact turned out helping him during that AO, but not against Nole in the Final. He said it, he needed to defend a lot against a player like Nole, which was something he simply was not capable doing.
Sounds right, Novak was the only guy capable of absorbing the Nadal offense and once he gets into the point Nadal has almost no chance without defense.
What Novak did there was next to impossible... He was playing like a robot... It's hilarios to compare Alcaraz to Nadal, even that Nadal was not in top form, if he played this Alcaraz, he still would've destroyed him at 30 years of age. He can't now at 38 obviously, he's done, but come on... Djokovic destroyed prime Alcaraz at the Olympics at the age od 37 (16 years older than him). Are you even serious with the comments? Imagine what he would've done to the little spaniad if he was on Nadal's spot?! Probably like 6-0, 6-1, 6-1.
Alcaraz is no where near these guys level. He has all the tools but his mentality and tactics aren't there. All the of the big three were exceptionally intelligent on the court. If they had their average court coverage Alcaraz would have no chance.

Nadal did not take a set from Djokovic on hard court since 2013........ out of clay... Djokovic would destroy him everywhere. When I usually say "alien level" and people argue with me that the best level from Rafa or Roger or Carlos is better than Novak's, this game and some others are a clear example of what Novak's beast mode looks like, unplayable even beyond our galaxy, a physical, mental and technical machine..oh boy! nothing against other players I mentioned, quite the opposite, as an ex-tennis player ( much lower level than this guys must admit ☺) I can understand a few things about tennis, and this was a crazy level!
This doco is a little misleading - nadal was not long back from prev season injury ( yet again ) and was building up with mostly easy draws up to the final - he was hardly " unplayable " - he was tested a couple of times by lower ranked players on route , as i recall it. Second , the rebound ace is his least favoured surface - compared to djoko s best At his fittest - Nadal would have made a good contest from this - but not on this day

It's almost like they fix results knowing they will share finals in future upcoming slams where they share out the wins. It has felt this way since Fed, Nad, Djok rose to the top. I refuse to believe some of these matches aren't fixed. It has been massive revenue and we have to remember all sports is entertainment and entertainment is business. They made tennis huge having the fans fixated on if one or the other will 'ever' reach certain milestones due to this 'roadblock' one is for the other etc. Perfectly orchestrated story arcs when all 3 have had a pretty equal game.
Nah, Nadal didn't take a set from Djoker in HC since 2013. He would lose anyway.
Always stupid excuses.
Nadal destroyed Tsisipas then Novak destroyed Nadal, Novak knew what he had to do but even more!!!
Novak destroyed his desire for tennis 🎾 in this unforgettable match!!! It was a pleasure watching 🏅🥇🎾🇷🇸🐐👋👋👋😅😂🤷
If they had their average court coverage Alcaraz would have no chance.
we must say now novak is unplayable... esp looking at this match
2019 AO Some had Rafa as the favorite. hehehe Rafa avoided him after that except for clay.
Rafa was avoiding Novak out of clay for a majority of their careers. Specially on Wimbledon, AO and World Tour Final in London.
How can players avoid each other?
@@minniegirl175 Great question see Goatkovic's videos....French Open 22 Federer withdrawals, in match against Berrettini....Berrettini loses the Novak in the next match. Wimbledon 22 Rafa withdrawals in semis to Kyrios, next match Kyrios loses to Novak. 2020 AO Federer has 8 match points to defend to Tenis Sandgren, handing the match to Sandgren ..didn't work. Next match Fed lost to Novak in the 2020 AO Semis in straight sets.....The head to head matchup of the Goats is the only true number of who's the best imo, so if your Rafa wait till clay, if your Federer wait till grass, avoid by withdrawing. Goatkovic has several other examples and all the stats. The Goats will be missed.☹
Djokovich combines the return game of Agassi, the powerful groundstrokes of Nadal, and the dominant service game of Federer
Djokovic is undeniably the GOAT in the history of Tennis. It's a fact
Not everyone would agree. It's difficult to say who is the goat among the three of them. Each of them were special
It is easy because a lohical erson would realise that he has more masters(and he has a double career golden masters, and the other ones dont even have a single golden career masters) grand slams, weeks and nr 1, nitto atp finals(which nadal has 0 of) and recently won gold at the olympics so there is no debate

8:24 stomach burning 😂😂😂
6:58, 7:45 Novak prime, literally a human wall who slides and moves like a torch and send back everything to the lines
Djokovic played so well, and Nadals level dropped about 2 gears.
Djokovic literally pushed Nadal to drop a level. If Medvedev or Tsitsipas in the final instead of Djokovic.... Nadal would win 3:0 in straight sets easy. Let´s face to reality........ Nadal did not take a set from Djokovic on hard court since 2013........ out of clay... Djokovic would destroy him everywhere. Specially on Australian Open, Wimbledon and World Tour Finals in London or Torino. Rafa can thank god that he did not get into more finals against Djokovic on Australian Open, Wimbledon etc.
THE GOAT'S MASTERPIECE.
This doco is a little misleading - nadal was not long back from prev season injury ( yet again ) and was building up with mostly easy draws up to the final - he was hardly " unplayable " - he was tested a couple of times by lower ranked players on route , as i recall it.
Second , the rebound ace is his least favoured surface - compared to djoko s best
At his fittest - Nadal would have made a good contest from this - but not on this day
best level Djokovic 2019 AO 😆 when of his best final

Nadal had no forehand power that match. At one point Djokovic was just standing in one spot and knew that anything Nadal hit would just end up there. Never seen him that weak given how hard he was hitting in previous matches.
Rafa here didn't even play his best and nor did he hit shots anywhere near as hard as he was the previous matches. Even with his feet set ready to unleash. I noticed this alot during french open finals too where Djokovic would deliberately play subpar.
@nineteen90z it's sport. There are days when your body and your level would feel subpar.
@@a.s1469 practise sessions constantly redlining, matches played bad only vs eachother otherwise steamrolling the opponent regardless of rank. It's literally stuff of videogames and unnatural. @@nineteen90z haha that's fair. They even kinda teased it with the video that they released a few months ago titled "ATP tennis reality show"
@@nineteen90zof course it's fixed. Anyone can see that coming into this there would be a lot that would bet on Nadal winning or going to 5 sets. They cleaned massive amounts of money through this fix. All sports when you get as good as these guys is fixed. You seam worried for Novak. I am too. That loss from Alcaraz didn't bother him much, which is never good. Last year was revenge year for him and it feels like he left it all there.
Let him enjoy his final years of Tennis
He has done enough
Now it is about enjoyment
why should it bother him? He is a class act and acknowledges that he wasn't good on the day. And frankly he had surgery and reached the final which in itself was amazing. He is so dominant that we feel anything less than victory is less for him. And unfortunately his 1 bad match came in the finals. His serve was impeccable throughout the tournament but faltered in the final. And Carlos was just amazing.
He has struggled with form all year. We will see if he finds a stretch of good health and good form. I am skeptical that he has reached a point of no return where he will never find a truly high level again. Probably can’t do it for a prolonged period, but should be able to peak here and there for a few weeks or a month.
