Hello, I’m a junior congrats! Could you give advice for college applications and also I am not sure if my parents would ever let me go to college out of state but should I still apply to out of state colleges! And lastly did you get a scholarship to BU because my parents are well off enough that I don’t qualify for many scholarships I want to go to college and graduate debt free do you think that is possible? I’m sorry if this is a lot but really congrats!!
thank you! I would recommend starting college apps around May of junior year so you have time to read over all your essays. I found myself swamped with all the college applications, missed out on some early application and scholarship opportunities because I was behind on some college essays. I'd definitely recommend applying to colleges that fall into safety, target, and reach colleges and a good list of different colleges. I would 100% recommend applying out of state, it's always a safe back-up option! As for scholarships, I didn't qualify for any trustee scholars or other merit-based scholarships simply because I applied after their deadline, but financially I also don't qualify for much aid. I did apply to a lot of scholarships, I would recommend to apply to as many as possible if you know your financial situation won't make the cut for financial aid.
