A team with good pressing forwards will go man to man, force a turnover, overload that space, and score sweet and easy goals.
brentford went man for man and spurs turned them over
@@aarongomez4759 I believe the man said 'good' pressing forwards
Liverpool are a perfect example of a team with good pressing forwards
@@bravesaronga9894Brentford are one of the best pressers in the world when they want to
@@aarongomez4759Liverpool have good pressing forwards and cooked Spurs 4-2 last season.
It's impossible to find football content online that doesn't mention Arsenal once even if Arsenal is not involved.
Not true in the slightest
@@Boop.......... The slightest? All I hear is how channels are twerking for Arsenal? So which is it.
That's because we have the biggest on line fan presence, clicks are king baby.
If we win the title you may as well get off social media because we'll be intolerable. 😆
Without Mickey constantly bailing them out these tactics simply don't work
They do
@@Megatron2012they do, he says from 10th in the table with 7 points from 5 games
@@matija9540 faced arsenal away and newcastle away bud
@@Megatron2012 how does that invalidate my point?
@matija9540 the tactics worked if you saw rhe game it's fhe players they weren't clinical and frankly out of form act watch the games before speaking about my club
Big 6 in this context doesn't even make sense. Villa are the 4th best team in this league and it would be more interesting to see how their defence measured up
It’s just who we are mate
mateball
High line fer life maiyte
There's no right or wrong way to play football and you can always make an argument for one or the other. But I just don't like it when people say Arteta is playing terrorist football or Ange is being naïve because both clearly have their own idea of how they want to win games. Tottenham chose to play their style of football despite being down to 10 against Qarabag instead of parking the bus and won that game eventually and yes you can say that Qarabag isn't City so the comparison wouldn't be fair. On the other hand, Arteta decided that he didn't want to drop points to City even if it meant leaving with only 1 point because dropping points to City can prove to hurt them at the end of the season. If City did score 2 more goals, then obviously that would have backfired but if they didn't score that last minute goal then that would have been a tactical masterclass by Arteta. Difference here is that Ange wouldn't barge and Arteta is being cautious, if Arteta had went head to head against City with 10 men and won that game convincingly then I'm sure we would all be having a different conversation here.
I Agree. Every system has its pros and cons. At the end of the day, it’s just about the results.
Who in their right mind would copy Spurs?? The Athletic as usual,
The difference is one is easier fill up a bus whilst the other has all the players spread too far to bother with a bus.
Bigger distances doesn’t make it more difficult to press. I don’t understand why you would say that.
It could also a matter of personel.
So they're using glass cannon tactic
The main difference is that one of those teams wins things. COYG
Spurs lose the ball constantly in our own third. So it's clearly not working that well
Well that’s the thing. Probably Ange realized that his player are not suited for the high tempo short passing play and opted for a more methodical and planning move. The thing is it’s not gonna end well for the big teams they know how to pressure very well.
Why not compare them to the team that finished ahead of them? Rather than the teams below?
What is full back pls anyone explain 🙏🙏
Left back and Right back
@@henrybauze2932 I thought they were wing backs
Just the term for the right back and left back
@@TtmmMmtt-go7bm they're fairly interchangeable. But generally wing backs are seen as more attacking and play more advanced. Typically you'd see wing backs in a back 5 formation and full backs in a back 4 formation. But it's not a hard and fast rule. That's how I see it at least.
@@TtmmMmtt-go7bmWing backs (mostly) are the outer defenders in a Back 5 (which become often a Back 3 in posession due to the Wingbacks pushing high
Big 6? What year is this?
LOL Spurs are playing like every team used to, before the hordes of Pep copycats. Because they don't have the quality and depth like the rest of the big 6 (big 6 of course being Villa instead of ManU nowadays).
Nah, if anything teams of old tended to be more compact and minimise spaces and risk
Big six? Lol
If you haven’t won the league in color tv, then you aren’t a big club.
@@hubris7434 Tottenham
@hubris7434 So Blackburn and Leicster are bigger than Spurs, Newcastle, Everton, and Wolves
Ah yes, makes sense
@@TOlp-oe3fp😂😂
These things aren't mutually exclusive 🤯🤯
None of those teams are "big clubs", same as spurs
It's basic logic bro
@@TOlp-oe3fp No and none of them are big six now either.
This video invalidated itself the second the words 'Big Six Teams' was uttered...
How?
@@nok9979 For a start, the 'Big 6' is a construct of Sky Sports to sell more subscriptions and is lazy journalism shorthand. As a group, they've hardly ever finished as a top six in the Premier League at the same time, at least two of them have muscled their way to the top with questionable sources of money, one of them never wins a trophy and another is on such a downward slide that their ground is falling apart and their performances are getting worse every week...
@@neilwhelan54they are still the most consistent around the first 6. No other team has that consistency
@neilwhelan54 You are partially right but a few years ago all those teams were actually pretty good. I think in the last 2 years or so the Big 6 has kinda stopped existing and soon people will stop using the term. It doesn't invalidate the point of the video though
@@neilwhelan54 do you think football began when you started to watch it?
That both are absurdly boring to watch
lol sure buddy.
the big distance clearly hasnt helped them win any titles
He's been here for a year mate, chill out

Lmao…another Arsenal “breakdown” and “analysis” by The Athletic.
I’m pretty sure Arsenal has been their most analyzed team over the last 2 years minimum. FYI, there are 19 other teams in the PL.
This was clearly about Spurs. Are you soft in the head?
Least delusional Arsenal fan
Please stop top 6 stats it’s just a bullshit conversation as soon as that is brought in
The problem is that these tactics are not going to work, and they haven't been working with the players' spurs. If they are going to play like this against United, they will lose. Ange needs to find something that works, and if he doesn't, then it will be another manager gone.
nah, they’d win
How'd this go btw
@@Chizyrascal87 As a spurs fan. I want my team to do well. It is only one match.
what a load of crap....
making it look like spurs are better than arsenal just because of the start line they build up from...
look how many goals arsenal scored last saison and the chikens scored...ffs
They're actually better tho. The problem is they got punished for it when get countered also, when the build up play fails, they're fucked
And that's why Tottenham hasn't won a trophy since 2008.......
Haven’t won since 2008 because of a tactic they’ve used for less than 2 years?
@darrowgoff3256 it's just a joke my friend 😁
Someone once said if you guys are the best analyst why don't you sell your ideas to the managers? It seems you idealize the notion that there is a perfect formation but of course you are just a journalist
-They are good analysts
-They don’t have access to manages
- Even if they did, managers won’t accept cause of pride.
Don’t be intentionally ignorant
I think people do nor understand that there are a lot of football analysts@@Noor-ng
They are talking about advantages and disadvantages, not about a perfect formation.
It's not too complicated, we trust you...
They don't come up with tactics. Managers already know all of this stuff and more - it's basic to them, which is why it's hilarious when people think they know more than a manger and start spouting childish nonsense online.
Journalists/analysts explain how tactics work to people like you, who think they're really clever but have no clue.
It's like saying to someone who's good at Lego, "you think you're so good at that, why don't you sell your ideas to architects and build some real buildings?🧐"
The answer is because they're not as interchangeable as they look to a clueless bystander
Wow. Come down to this channel comment section to hear some of the most horseshit opinions
Tottenham is rubbish, that's it.
Always said it. Ange is a hack.
Tell that to his trophies in multiple domestic leagues and his Asian Cup win
@@cannedpineapple2702 I also won the Thursday Afternoon Cup at work. That’s about as prestigious as his trophies!!
