Robert Smith my favorite bowler of all time.
Man was a beast!!
59:28 Robert Smith not only converted the 3-6-10, but he destroyed the hell out of that safety glass due to how hard he shoots his spares.
God, the things Robert Smith can do to a bowling ball are insane.
Dude was an absolute beast!!!
Maximum Bob one of my favorite old school players to watch , it's a shame Injuries got the best of him.
He’s still bowling in regionals
I agree, he was amazing.
he came back from the injuries after some doctor figured it out.
I've never seen another single handed bowler get the revs Robert Smith was capable of. Easily 500+RPM.
@@dmoore0079 there are a lot nowadays and there were quite a few even 20 years ago. robert had higher ball speed than just about anyone though.
i miss all these opens that used to be on tv and even the outdoor events smh
randy and rob were jsut on fox heard dave w ith the womes bowling so this wasnt a fox or abc original telcast
i see this was a espn/abc telcast they arestill using these announers 19 yrs later on fox
I miss when the did the summer shoot out at 6 flags
@@MilkyTheMan yesss man could you imagine doing it there again or even on mainstream Disneyland
Robert smith doesn’t mess around when it comes to. Walter ray
Its literally impossible to beat Walter Ray on telecasts at this particular bowling alley, go back and look at those other wins from Walter. So what Robert did here was near impossible bucking with the history of this tournament. This could be considered an upset.
Omg, the racks are so fast! Unless messengers fly at Robert Smith speed, they aren't getting there in time
So many Gems being thrown on this tv show.
Simi Valley, Ca. I met him at the local bowling alley where I bowled in a league as a teenager early 90's. Great guy. I wish he could have been around much longer
he is not dead
"Odor Eaters Open" only the pba
😂
Back when the PBA actually had sponsors!
59:45 LOL!!!
You're frame is not on standard size on RUclips 1280 x 720px. This very old fashion Video format. Thus great quality of videos you have
This was not broadcast in 720p that's why it's 480
RIP Golden Pin Lanes
I loved all the telecasts they did there. I truly hate the whole Bolero thing and how bowling is only played for a portion of the year, as if it isnt a year round sport. They dont even realize the errors of everything they are doing compared to when bowling was the #1 show on TV.
@@mpup54What does Bowlero have to do with this? GPL was *demolished.* Not bought out by Bowlero.
I've miss this one after 2 years of playing Wildrift. I this one. Theres no Toxicity
Robert s,mith will forever be my fav bowler. He was the best in the 10th for the wheat
On the left is PA

I got the privilege to bowl with Robert Smith in Chattanooga Tn in an Pro-Am event , I had an awesome time.
Cool tech bowling pba professional bowling
Golden Pin Lanes in Tucson, Arizona provided memorable events on both the Pba, and Pwba Tours.
it's fully gone now ):
Yea Phillips u provide annoying simpleton comments on every damn bowling video on RUclips. Go away!
Phillips states this about every throw back event
@@allstarr9tc Why did they tear it down? Just bad business?
Its funny how many dinosaur bowlers complain about two handers "cheating" but Robert Smith put more on it and threw it harder and he isn't "cheating". Only problem with bowling is close minded bowlers.
Belmo would probably still be able to do 500rpm at age 70 while most crankers start stroking/cutting down revs within the first 10 years of their years.
@@omegavladosovich6757I believe Belmo has cut down his rev rate in recent years as well citing more consistent reaction. He is super smooth though. And hopefully he can stay healthy.
Smith was using a Sarge Easter grip to cut down on Rev Rate and still was capable of getting to 600+ rpm or better. But alas Robert had some hip issues.
@@Mainzer74 it makes me wonder like was his physiology just perfect for high rev rate or did he understand it better than anyone else ever did?
@@Mainzer74 yeah my point is that 2hands gives better physical longevity than, whether it is unfair or not. Chris Barnes and Tim Mack used to be hard crackers but struggled with their physical condition and became strokers. Robert Smith tried twohanding for a while but went back to one hand recently.
@@omegavladosovich6757 Bobby went to two hands because he was suffering from a nerve condition called fibromyalgia; with this condition, even a small cut can feel like a gunshot (depending on the severity of the condition). From what I read that petered off and he's back to one hand.
Amazing 😍
I looooooove maximum bob
This was the smith show
B smith
R smith
R steelsmith
Maximum Bob!!
Injury really derailed Robert Smith Career.
Certainly played a role but he just wasn't as consistent as some other power players at the time like Tommy Jones and Wes Malott

Who thinks showing the back of the pins is a good way to watch bowling? It’s like watching baseball in the snack bar?
Tv angles is bad in all sports
Real bowling using one hand. The way it was meant to be.
Joe What'shisface was a less talented EJ Tackett before EJ Tackett was EJ Tackett lol but with a whole head of hair...barely.
