Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong are one of the few movies that actually looks like "real" fighting, without constantly cutting images and different camera angles like in any other fight movie. In my opinion Tony Jaa's stunt fighting skills absolutely stands out above any other actor in fight movies. Tony makes it as close to real as it gets.
Tony Has is an amazing fighter, but he isn't Donny Yen. Donny Yen has more prescion than Tony does, his transition is real good, but Donny is second to none.
And kung fu kid 2010
Tony Jaa is best.
In to the badlands fight look real
Excelente así es tienes mucha razón
Sounds about right. Ip Man is very high skill and oddly can take the pain and keep going like a champ.
Thank you so much for your help and support
Thai boxing sudah tidak diragukan lagi...ongbak terbaik
Donnie Yen is a supreme talent and not only his fighting skills but also his acting skills are amazing. ❤️
Don Yen is actor , chinese kungfu very bad
I am a martial artist with lessons from 11 instructors and currently taking Wing Chun. I think Tony is the best fighter
I absolutely agree with the comparison between the two and Donnie being the clear cut winner. I've seen various martial artists through the years in films. Donnie has to be the closest in comparison to Bruce Lee in knowing a variety of martial arts and employing what he knows to the big screen.
Ii
Wing Chun is an Amazing style, and if taught properly is a great fighting form. But Ong Bak actually used Muay Boran, and, Krabbi Krabong weapons skills. Both are military styles taught to kill or at least maim an opponent.
Having done security and body guard work for 40 years, dirty, brutal, is always a reality when dealing with those who want to harm you or your package (customers).
Sometimes, a spinning elbow or flying knee is an only option to cover a long distance fast. Look at the list MMA champions that study Muay Thai.
All I'm saying is that it always comes down to usually who's bigger and stronger, but for straight toughness...it's difficult to beat a trained Thai style fighter. Nothing against anyone else.
ruclips.net/video/-tpe3qkkzk8/видео.html
Kali and Silat are deadly too.
Muay Thai users are also able to take more beatings , their entire body is trained like steel
The Jet kun Do is the reflection of Master Bruce Lee way. I mean, "No rules".
I'm gonna say muay Thai all day. This version of it any day
Facts
@@Hulkjames12 ????
You saw what Donnie Yen did to that Muay Thai fighter in the elevator fight scene in Ip Man right?
@@kimbelsimpson7535 I'm comparing fighting style from brute force. Speed and power. I'm. Comparing the films not the scene. Based on the martial arts. Mauy Thai is nothing like it is the way it gets done in the film. Based on that fact it's more random than fixed stances it's hard to read. As I have studied both I'm telling you put of these versions of martial arts Mauy Thai everytime.
@@benshaw3107 I'm talking about fighting skills coupled with experience Donnie Yen knows already knows more forms of Martial Arts then Tony JAA enough that he can combine techniques that Tony might no be able to defend against and he's also a superb close quarter fighter.
That defense by Ip man … hard to beat! 😉
Great review, professional and fair !!
Os dois são excelentes. São modalidades distintas e altamente bem orquestradas nas cenas de ação.
A diferença e que esse cara do ong bak não e lutador na vida real assim como o grande mestre era IP Man
I agree! Donnie yen Ip man is a legend
I think Tony Jaa is terrific. But if you consider what Ip Man did to the Thai boxer in the elevator during Ip Man 3, along with every other premier fighter in the IP Man series (through #4), it is easy to see why Ip Man would likely win. BTW: It was fun watching Yen and Jaa work together in The Return of Xander Cage.
in movie yes...in real world... wing chun today suck...MT can kick your ass
Bruh of course he won it’s a movie about wing chun 😂 not sure if you’re serious
The Thai boxir in the elevator was obviously holding his punches in order not to accidentally hurt old Donnie.
@@daxcr7 It’s not wing chun, it’s the person who uses the technique, if they have mastered HIS wing chun, it’ll be good, but I believe you’ll need to use other styles with it as well
Excellent analysis. I agree!
Good
Hope you're doing well over there...??
I would love both actors in their Prime to go at it soooooooooo baaaaaaaad! 😭
Fantastic match up
Thanks
Throughout Ip Man 3 and 4 it was clear that Master Yip was dying, but with the skill and mastery over himself and his style he still was breakin people left and right even at his lowest. Not to give Ting any credit since he did get shot in the chest as well in his first movie too and landed a sick knee drop on that one guys chest. Then again that same actor was in both their first movies which is ironic that its not the same character 😂
Don’t compare both
Ip man is far better than this tony ja
@@danielifeanyi2004 lol
I've seen the Ip Man series with Donnie Yen. They were all great, but I enjoyed #4 the most. I think it has to do with the fact #4 is the one with the most English language dialogue.
I definitely think Ip man myself like you said that was Bruce Lee's teacher, I definitely am a Ip man fan!
Skills definitely won Tony Jaa. In Ong Bak 2 he shows a lot of techniques from different Martial Arts like Muay Thai, Kung Fu - including fighting with Spikes, Kyoketsu, Swords, Katanas, shields, and more
If the Kumate did in fact exist like in the movie Bloodsport, he'd definitely be the champion.
Both are super 👌👌👌👌, but my first choice ip man
Fair enough
I'll vote for tony jaa. it is no way you can compare ipman to ong bak. Ong Bak is the best and shocking the world with it's pure action, fight & stunt. tony jaa's physique, skill, fights, stunts are superior that can only be compared to jackie chan. ong bak's fighting style are real and really hit the opponent. very good hard work by panna rittikrai's team.
Jaa should have had the edge on physique, the rest are tied besides pedigree. No way you don't give that one to Ip.
The two were mostly tied in my book
I agree with you.
Tony jaa the best
If he can hit Donnie. Donnie is.a wise fighter. Maybe he is secretly studying Tony jaa's style. Who knows ?

Their styles are SO different. Both are really good fighters! Looking at the video you would say Onk Bak is more aggressive, but the other guy is like a snake, he could creep up on you and attack you in seconds in a very calm manner. My answer would be a tie!
You said it all and I totally agree with you
Fan all the way from Texas hope you're doing good over there now...??
Tony Jaa is good at martial arts, not just Muay Thai. But there are many subjects such as Judo, Karate, Pancak Silat, Kung Fu, Wuzoo, and he is a runner in athletics. He's also a gymnast. Also, Ong Bak is a non-CG movie. Is playing for real, really hurting. To be honest, Donnie wouldn't eat Tony Jaa if they were actually fighting.
Muay boran
Yeah it's true
You lie
Yes tony jaa knows more than Muay Thai, but as mentioned by Michael balance in the comments or if you watch ip man vs jet li you would know that donnie yen knows more than just wing chun too. But id say it be a close fight.
The best is the "no rules". I guess you to watch the interview with Master Bruce Lee about his rules. But the most important, his philosophy.
Much respect to both men who are incredibly good at their craft. But yes I have to agree with this verdict as long as Yen stays away from those crushing elbows and knees of Jaa.

Both r legends in their own styles
Nice video 👍🏾.
Yap I total agree, IP man is always a delight to watch I never get tied of seeing all donnys movies especially the ip man series
As much as I like Ip man, the other style is more aggressive and I feel his opponent is skilled enough to over come his experience
So was Ip Man he literally killed elite black belts with his bare hands with guns pointed at him while his wife and son were hiding in starvation. Ip Man was very aggressive with alot of power and speed way to skillful for ong back. But don't get me wrong ong bang and the protector is a lethal character unbelievably powerful.
Totally agree!
para mi ambos son dos grandes. Gracias por este video
Huge difference Ip Man was based on real events he fought through an invasion of japan in china in real life he literally fought with his bare hands for survival to protect his family and succeeded and literally beat 10 elite black belts at once and was played by Donnie Yen which deserves an oscar no one played Ip Man better. Tony Jaa is lethal in his movies i give him that don't know how many times ive watched them lol but if it came down to character vs character be a good match for abit but it won't take Ip Man long to work him out and there's definitely no way he's breaking shit off on Ip Man. I agree with your verdict 💯
Thank you!! Everybody down here is saying otherwise and I was beginning to think I was crazy for disagreeing.
In the real life ip man will k.o. by mauy thai in the first round. Kung fu the fake martial art only show in the movies
@@user-gk4bn6ti9y while I agree Tony Jaa would beat Yip Man. Or Donny Yen...
Rest of you comment was nonsense. It's not the system that determines anything. (Well certain ones like the actual fake Dillman stuff). It's the teacher, the practice of the student and how much actual sparring and realistic technique they train. And there a good number of bad Kung Fu teachers out there. And Karate, TKD and even Muay Thai.
There are also teachers in each of the systems who are top most level. Believe it or not but there are many Kung Fu schools who train serious fighting.

🎯
Well rated
It is just a movie, the actors are following the instructions of the director with the script..
It's not a martial arts olympic tournament .. it's from movie clips only, we cannot decide who really good and excellent on that field.
Very accurate assessment here. Spot on.
Bom filme
Super excited
Great fighting men
Tony all time winner for me
Ip man ip man ip man, need I say more, with a wealth of martial art knowledge ip man is un beatable !
Thanks 😊
IP man's hardest enemy is just a prop for Ong Bak. Ong Bak will treat IP man's punches as too light as a butterfly landing on his body because Ong Bak has gone several injuries, fought with stronger enemies, he is a bone-breaker but IP man is almost dying in a single fight with his complicated movements but too light, it's nothing for Ong Bak...although the filming is good because it's more advanced.
Tony jaa my favourite
Donnie Yen has skills, and he is not a simple actor. He has the experience of defeating 8 hooligans on the street, and has actual combat ability. Tonyja has strength and is very physically fit, and Muay Thai is very focused on physical training. The final outcome requires a battle to know. The data is only data and does not reflect reality.

Super video
Amazing
There is no comparison between the greatest martial artists. But i will go with TONY JAA.
I like IP Man & thought he was better in his ability to win, thank you, by.
Yes I agree with you 100percent
Wow cool man
It depends on what weapons are taken up in the fight. If only fists and feet, then IP man will be hard to beat, providing both are the same age. But if weapons such as spears or clubs are allowed, then Tony's amazing and uncanny talent for employing their use with lethal affect will see him the victor. In any case, it would be an incredible match either way.
Weaponry or not, Tony Jaa (Muy Boran) will bodied Donnie Yen (Wing Chun). People think Muy Boran is only kick boxing (8 limbs). Their various fighting style from animals stances similar to Kung Fu mixing with kick boxing. Muy Boran is a complete fighting system. Ancient muy boran also deal with grappling and submissions moves.
Have you ever been in a ring. Hell have you ever seen a real match that wasn't in a movie.
you do realize that ip man is skilled with a lot of weapons right? oh wait you dont know. crap even in the movie ip man was beating the crap out of groups of people with weapons. like when he went to get his student from the gang. he fought how many different people. sorry but i dont think the other guy would have won against that many just saying
@@grimreaper3972 that’s just in a movie Muay Thai is the best around sport go train in Thailand and fight real Thai fighters not no bullshit American Muay thai
No it's not. Muay thai is what you'll use if you want to really, I mean really hurt your opponent
Put them in the real life, boxing ring,to find out who is the actual winner… actions on screen don’t really count…
Chuck Norris would have beaten Bruce Lee in a real fight.
Ong Bak take this, he literally had mastered all the fighting techniques and styles.

If you had noticed IP man doesn't fight to kill he fights to either knock out or make one surrender
But Ong Bak is jus aggressive and straight to getting you out..
So do you think if IP man too is to come all out, he is gonna be dangerous.....
Ong Bak has strength right
But then beating IO man on defense is way beyond him
Good skill thank For a good careing mom good night

It's not real man, don't be deceived
But ip man can block/balance even hit by hammer
They're designed to break with very little effort. It might as well be perforated tbh
Yep! I have to agree. This was a good assessment.
So simple I don't even know why the comparison

This video gave me a creamy feel of the fighters. Great! The verdict was right.
I LOVE BOTH THEY ARE BOTH WINNERS IN MY EYES.
Thanks so simple I don't no why the comparison
Hope you're doing fine over there now
My thought is Wing Chun is not an aggressive style. It is more of a defensive style relying on shifting balance of the opponent and deflecting rather than blocking a hit. You need precise and spontaneous movement to predict the hit so as to avoid or deflect. And speed is key with precision. Muay Thai is a whole different style. You prepare yourself to take a hit and give back. So you are constantly making yourself resistant to hit from anyone. If Donnie should land a kick or a punch on Tony, he better be sure to hit the soft spot of Tony and with good speed. Else, Tony can take the pain and give a heavy hit to Donnie and that will hurt.
Aura Wing Chun is actually a very aggressive system. It's simply not portrayed that way. Makes it more dramatic and seem more honorable.
Wing Chun is actually a stripped down Basic Training Hung Gar system used to quickly train resistant fighters during the Manchu ruled Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). It's Hung Gar Snake and Crane techniques with a modified high horse stance.
So not only were the Chinese in a 258 year civil war, the Manchu also allowed the Japanese and British to invade and occupy China. Only way they could keep power. Martial Arts were banned early on. They simply continued in basements, rooftops, docks at night, restaurants at night, etc.
Restaurants, Traditional Chinese Medicine shops, "Athletic Centers", Chinese Opera, etc were often fronts for training resistant soldiers. So Wing Chun is the product of all that.
And during a 258 civil war where you're also fighting two world superpowers? You develope/modify fighting to end the fight as quickly as possible. Hung Gar, White Crane, Southern and Northern Mantis, Northern Longfist, Eagle Claw, Baji and especially Wing Chun and Xing are very aggressive and pressing.
I think you didn't grasp the point Arun made. He was talking in real world terms not make believe movies.
@Steven Gray hui
So Donny yen given a huge pain to Japanese General, Mike Tyson, and defferent very dangerous kungfu maters and martial artist. 🤣🤣
Donny's Wing chun is much faster than Tony's mua thie... Remember it ✌️

I agree, but I don't think it would be that close!! Ip Man is the man!!!
Mrdddddd!!! I did not know that the Butcher Ong Bak would also fight with Ip man 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Skill, Technique and Speed.
One has to have the above three in order to win a battle.
No doubt Tony Jaa has the skill and speed but without technique his inner power or energy will be exhausted.
Donnie Yen had mastered a breathing technique from his sifu (teacher). During a fight he reserved his energy or inner force for final attack which he will deliver this to defeat his opponent in the case of one to one battle.
His fighting skill and technique enables to fight in a small limited space which taekwando and karate couldn't do that where a kick is almost impossible to be delivered.
Ip Man(Donnie Yen) would definitely win. He even survived fighting Mike Tyson
It's a movie,Donnie wouldn't survive Mike's punches IRL 😂
@@notevenalex he would but he treated the film as it's not a real fight while tyson was his first experience of making movies and scenes so he maybe fought yen with some real punches and yen escaped from it

Wing Chun all day. As much as I enjoy Ong Bak, the singular style is no match for Yen’s 15 styles of martial arts.

Donnie also know Muay Thai
Real life Muay Thai is the second to none, such as Buakhao.
It's not the style, it's the fighter.
Wing chun___Yip Man 🔥🔥🔥
Both styles are very different from each other and are unique in their own ways. I love Donnie a bit more but honestly Tony will win. Muay Thai is more aggressive and tony is more about breaking bones than landing punches on the body. One wrong mistake and tony can easily catch hold of donnie’s joints or aim for his head with his knees or elbows. Also Tony has more strength to fly in the air to than Donnie making it easy to dodge him lol. They’re both still awesome though! No need to compare anyone to each other, everyone is great in their own ways.
Being aggressive will show more weak points and open areas.
@@trippie_7797 If you're a pro, being aggressive is flawless.
@@nict5828 but you forgot about Ip man studying about vital points so that’s why no one could beat Bruce .

@@trippie_7797 it doesn’t. It all depends on the fighter honestly. Some are good at hiding and not showing their weak points. Some fighters even pretend to show/have a weak point to trick their opponents, by doing that it helps distract their opponent if it makes sense

I think its not fair to compare two fighters who have not fought each other and basing on what we see on the big screen. The comparison should take into consideration the picture effects and the level of ingenuinity in choreographing and a lot other things involved in film productions.
Wing Chun,Kung Fu (Snake,Tiger,Cat,Monkey style),Karate,Shaolin and Taekwondo only can win in movies but in real contact fight Mix Martial Arts is still dominant when it comes to real fight.
For me if you have a combination skills of Muay Thai,Jujitsu and Wrestling you have a very huge edge as a complete fighter and of course body strength and good condition must have too.
Ip man on his prime is Unbeatable unless you have a hybrid learning like Bruce or Donnie and have a good starting ground with martial arts.
The movie ongbak itself is very outstanding my friends mostly the fighting style of Tony eish! He fight as if he's dancing yo nice fighting style I have ever seen
For sure Donnie then has alot of fighting techniques compared to Tommy has because donnie can fit in almost every style of fighting while ting mostly uses Muay Thai
But tony za strength is incredible. And he have an extra skills apart from muaithai. Donnie too is good. Cannot analyze unless put in real test
Ong Bak is truely shocking the world. even jackie chan, scott adkin and all martial artists admitted that
Wow wonderful channel 🌹🌷l like it
Majority of Masters will study multiple styles until they can develop their own style. Someone started studying Win Chung could easily begin learning other styles seeing which would mesh with their original style until they either discover this or come up with their own style. It's these few individuals that do this become Masters. Most martial arts in the East dont use belt systems, yet some do. Any form can become both an offensive and defensive nightmare to their opponent, all depends on the individual and the skills they obtained. No one form of martial arts ranks superior over the other but depending on each individual and their skill sets fluidity of their mind can take any two or three forms of martial arts combine them together and become a whoop arse machine.
I think that training Bruce Lee shouldn't count in the overall pedigree of a fighter.
Yip Man trained many outstanding students, including masters William Cheung, and Hawkins Chen. But overall, a match between Wing Chun and Muay Thai, would depend on the best fighter.
I have sparred with opponents from both style s and, in my humble opinion, Muay Thai toolbox is just more tools.
Tonny Jaa is more Spectacular than Yen is
