I discovered these dudes via Spotify algorithm recommend with their latest album. As an audio engineer and musician/producer/songwriter.. I have to say their songs are an absolute joy to listen to. I messaged my brother today, saying they were one of those bands I wish my dad was alive to hear.. I would love to know what he thinks of them. Are they proggy? Yup. Are they poppy and catchy? Yuh huh. Are they heavy as f**k? Giggity. Hot damn.. It's so good.
@@LilacSnowBun I'm Gen X and REAL close to boomer. I don't want to hate on millennials because they got dealt a turd-sandwich AND beat up badly for not eating it happily but their cultural output did leave a LOT to be desired, IMO. I did enjoy that whole "mashup" of two songs I never would have expected to go together thing that trended over the past 15 years or so. That was neat.
@@HSR107 I’m Gen X too (we’ll always have Seattle, man.) close to being a Millennial. I’ve nothing against them, it’s just that Gen Z seems like actual progress. You can be gay in high school now!
These guys are undoubtedly frontrunners of the new NYC rock vanguard. They wear their inspirations (The Strokes, Television, etc) on their sleeves, but always manage to make something that still sounds unique to them. Cameron's lyrics really help set them apart.
This is the type of unique amazing band that only comes along once in awhile. This type of creativity not only inspires people in general, but it inspires other MUSICIANS. This is like your favorite comedians favorite comedian
Untitled, the last song in this set is FUCKING BEAUTIFUL PERFECTION from such a fresh, exciting, versatile, young, fascinating, impossible to ignore band of hope!
We are going to see them in Toronto!!! There's something special about these guys!!! The way the vocals spar with the band is fantastic. You cats are what music needs!!!
Excellent! Funny how so many commentators are calling the band members "kids." They are young musicians, like so many great bands to emerge have been! Talent shows itself fast!
Damn, I'm getting old. My first thought was "These guys look mighty young." They're playing within walking distance of my house in a few weeks. Was considering going. Still might.
Finally! Yes the drummer, sick ! The screaming, frantic, mathematical mania guitar work...WTF!?!!!! Finally its time to kill autotune, prerecorded beats for models to sing songs already written for them in some moguls formula for moneymaking, fuck art. Seems as though from what ive been hearing from 2 cassette labels 1 in Australia punk/new wave/ hardcore bands the other the same but bands from everywhere but loving the amount of music these 2 labels are putting out on cassettes/download/RUclips. Rock n Roll has returned to claim majority rule! Long overdue
This reminds me of Bauhaus, prog rock and 80's-90's noise punk all in a blender. Haunting little melodies, driving rhythm section and the vocals just tie everything together. (Oh and thats just the first song.) Then they hit me with the funky 2nd song... Talent boys! Pure talent.
The guy sings like The Fall, other times like Jim Morrison, other times like Mike Jagger... And so on maybe. But who da fuck cares!? Just shake your head into this turmoil of influences that bring us something fresh and new while making us remember (for "I" I mean vintage guys like me born in 72) like we where 15 again!
This „untitled“ song.. has it been released yet or have I totally missed this gem? Great band, and I highly recommend their latest single „cowboy nudes“. What an awesome recording!!

P.S. This kid is putting on a MF drum clinic. Yeesh. His timing is rock solid.
This is strong; unique sound. Drummer is talented.
They are all incredibly talented
It's only taken a little over 20 years for there to be new music I appreciate again.
Thanks, kids!
IKR? Gen Z needs to save us all. 😂

Fully agree. But they are better than Strokes ever were, IMO.
And a name similar to swans yet they named geese😂
Didn’t even realise they’re from New York! Vocalist sounds really REALLY British when he sings

Gang of four
grab them on their first tour, if you can.
Very good.
Приятный голос и музыка. Послушал студийные записи. На лайве есть особенности в голосе, которые дают изюминку песням. Жаль что на студии этого нет

It’s on the new album, titled Domoto
Liked this more than expected, and I dig the Television influence.
They are a rip off
DISCOOOO
all the best bits of the Strokes/Hives/Vines, with the tightness of the JBs & the rawness of Radiohead. Absolutely blown away.
Yeah a total rip off but awful
These guys are amazing.
I appreciated the Beatles cover.
