yah, exactly! for me, its kinda partially because im so used to this one, that nothing else is much better. but with the acting, a lot of them just act like teenagers n such, and with this you really can't do that. you have to BE the character.
love this musical love burnadette peters, at my summer camp we did this one year and at the actual performance we change some of the lines on purpose, and someone changed this part "some day you'll have a real pet Jack," "a mongoose?!"

Ahah! I thought I knew that creepy old man grumble! That's pretty much awesome. I agree it is wierd that he got such a small role, but there wasn't really a role that would fit him really well because most of the guys are young.
I really want my high school to do this. I love this musical so much! The Witch is SO funny here!!

Kim Crosby was absolutely lovely as Cinderella. Merle Louise (Cinderella's mother) in her 3rd Sondheim original cast musical. First two: Susan in "Company" and the Beggar Woman in "Sweeney Todd". :)

The actor who plays Jack sort of looks like Kay from Disney's Sword in the Stone!

...is it just me, or does Cinderella's father sound like Judge Turpin from Sweeney Todd (the version that can be found here)? Especially 4:58 to 5:01, it's the same mumbling he does in the barbers chair right before "Pretty Women"..

Truthfully I hate this song. Green greens is not my favorite out of the show. When you have other Sondeim masterpieces, like Giants in the Sky, or No more right in this show.
Although I extremely love the "Jack jack jack, head in a sack." segment.
