Everything you said in this video is my exact story. I was not a fan of tech in the classroom and resented the push for it. I have been watching and learning from you and have already had my AHA! moment, realizing I need to integrate tech in my lessons. You are truly an inspiration and also a very kind and generous soul. I'm on the early-bird wait-list and am so excited for this course because I absolutely know that I will be a better teacher for my students. Honestly, the last 5 videos are what I needed to understand where and how to apply technologies. I mean I also loved the videos before but like they were taken from nowhere or required some prior proficieny. Now I feel that I am making a logical progress from A and hope to reach Z. I would like to see this gradual development in further videos. Thanks for your effort and hard work. You really help teachers.

Don't give up! I'm 56 and have taught 6th grade English and history for nearly 25 years. Like Sam, I resisted technology integration until I saw how much it engaged my colleagues' students and realized that it could be harnessed to support my instructional goals. I've used Google Classroom and Kahoot! for the past few years, but when my school shut down last Spring, I began using Screencastify (like Loom), HyperDocs, Flipgrid, and Padlet for the first time. I can't wait to try PearDeck and Jamboard - and convince my district to purchase Nearpod. So... hang in there!

Your newsela reading tracker is awesome! I use newsela often in my Social studies classes and would love to use something like this. Do you have this template for sale anywhere or up for grabs? I'm sure I could make one similar but yours seems to cover everything I need it to! What a great idea!

This is the first time ever that I react on something I see on the Internet. So here applies the saying "the teacher comes when the student is ready". I am definitely ready to start this wonderful and passionate journey on embracing this new technological era for the purpose of teaching. I have a question Sam, the course on the 2nd is at 10 am US time but I am in Germany, is it 3 hours difference from where you will be giving this course?
Hi Emma, thank you for your comment! I really appreciate you saying that! So early access registration for the course opens on the 2nd (official access opens on the 3rd if there are still seats available. Immediately after signed up you'll be taken to an onboarding area where you are going to get started setting things up. Then throughout the week I'll be releasing Section 1 material (that you can complete on your own) during the registration window. There's a lot of material in Section 1, which is why I want to give everyone a head-start. The following week is when the course will "officially" begin, though as I mentioned, it's actually best to have two weeks to do the first section. There will also be a weekly, optional live Q & A as part of the course, which will be recorded if you can't make it.
Not sure if that's exactly the answer you're looking for, but all that to say that time zone doesn't matter too much except for when the registration link goes live since there are so many people on the waiting list. I'm pretty sure the time converts from 10am PST (Los Angeles time) to 7pm your time if you're in Germany. Hope to see you there!

Hi Guisella, no, nothing like that. It's designed to support you with whatever stage of technology integration you are at, so it's really about us working together as a team instead of me acting as any kind of evaluator of your performance. Hope to see you in the course!

Hola, no, el contenido es por lecciones ya filmado y cada semana tendremos la oportunidad de tener una reunion virtual y hacer preguntas. Tambien puedes poner preguntas en el grupo de Facebook. Cada semana empezamos otra seccion del curso asi que todos van a ser haciendo las mismas partes. Ojala que viene!
