    Hi, I am planning to visit Leh with family (Wife and Two Kids, 12 and 16 years old), starting on 26th June, going to follow your 10 to 12 days itinerary. Your videos almost provided all the necessary information for a first time visitor like me and I really appreciate your efforts to provide timely and precise information about each and every topic. Can you pls suggest some decent stay options in Patnitop, Srinagar, Kargil, Leh, Pangong and Sarchu etc. Do I need to book Hotels in advance? Is it safe to visit with family on these dates? Thanks and keep updating us with your informative videos.

      Srinagar: Most stayed in houseboats there, so no personal recommendation

      Leh: Khan Manzil, Kidar Guest House
      Turtuk: Ismail Guest House
      Hunder: Habib Guest House, Yourdum Guest House, Snow Leorpard Guest House, Hotel Stendel

      Tso Moriri: Goldenmark Camps, Tsomoriri Camp and Resort, Homestays in Korzok on spot
      Sarchu: Many camp options are there, choose to your comfort upon reaching
      Jispa: Padma Lodge or Hotel Ibex both are good, Jispa Journey campsite

    Hi, I will appreciate if you can please provide me the following informations: (1) Are there any permissible time window to drive from Manali to Jispa and Jispa to Leh or Leh to Manali on last week of June-2023. (2) Does the available accomodations at Jispa allow early morning check in? I am planning to reach Jispa from Manali before 9 AM and next day early morning around 4 to 5 AM start from Jispa for Leh. (3) Should I prebook the accommodations in Manali, Jispa and Leh for last week of Jun-23 travel or will get plenty of options on arrival. Regards

    • @discoverwithdheeraj
      @discoverwithdheeraj  Год назад +1

      Here are my inputs:
      1. There is no time window. You can drive anytime in the last week of June unless there is closure during your travel dates, everything shall be open both way traffic.
      2. You need to check with them, if the room is empty then they should be allowing you.
      3. You will have to search a bit but these places have lots of options so something shall always be available on spot. Jispa Journey or Jispa Lodge or Hotel Ibex shall be good places.

    • @discoverwithdheeraj
      @discoverwithdheeraj  Год назад +1

      Since 2021 end of season, Indian do not need any permit anymore in Ladakh for regular sightseeing. You just need to pay the Ladakh Environment Fee on the website and carry the receipt of it. Here is the link where you need to pay it: www.lahdclehpermit.in/register-as-domestic
      Current Ladakh environment fees are broken down as following:
      1. Environment Fee = Rs 400 one time
      2. Wildlife Fee/Something = Rs 20 per day
      3. Red Cross Fee = Rs 50 one time but Optional, you don’t need to pay if you don’t want to.
      DO NOT confuse environment fee receipt with permit. You just need to carry this fee receipt, hard copy or soft copy. This receipt will be checked at various checkposts. Hence, people are confusing it with permit but this is just verification that you have paid the fees.

      Manali - Jispa
      Jispa - Leh
      Leh Rest day
      Leh - Nubra
      Nubra - Pangong
      Pangong - Hanle
      Hanle - Umling La - Tso Moriri
      Tso Moriri - Pugga - Tso Kar

    Hello, is it OK to travel in late August, around 17-27 August, considering rains, and other weather conditions? @DevilOnWheelsBlog

    • @discoverwithdheeraj
      @discoverwithdheeraj  Год назад

      Bhai, It is monsoon time in general up there in North and at some parts of Manali - Leh Highway (like before Baralacha La) and Srinagar - Leh Highway (like before Kargil) you might need to face monsoon hassles but once you get closer to Ladakh, then Ladakh being rain shadow region is least affected by monsoon rains. Landslides or slush or road blocks are pretty common in the month of monsoons but these landslides are cleared in a day or two unless there is a very major one.
      Again there are ALWAYS risks of traveling in mountains in the rainy season. No one can predict anything but it is a well known fact about the risks of traveling in mountains
      Having said that, rains does reach Ladakh nowadays but in general, it is overcast days or in form of light drizzles. I will suggest you go thru my video on 10 Tips for a Trip to Ladakh in Monsoons at the link:ruclips.net/video/TQjBw5pCGx8/видео.html

    HI DHEERAJ IF WE CARRY SNOW CHAINS?

    • @discoverwithdheeraj
      @discoverwithdheeraj  Год назад

      You can carry snow chains but will only be required in case snowfall happens during the days of your travel.. Cold and lack of accommodation will be your biggest challenge especially in case of getting stuck.
