I'm a big Harry Potter universe fan, but I won't watch this series if they can't stay true to the source material. Shame on you JK Rowling if you betray millions of fans and agree to a black Snape as long as HBO presses money into your greedy hands.

There is no question that very much none from the movie cast is going to make a return appearance for the new show series of Harry Potter, I have heard time and time again that while everything sounds like its up in the air for the possibility that any one of them still alive might return were never going to join the new cast but, I do hope that maybe at least there will be at least one actor who's name will be familiar to me regardless of having been on the Potter-Wagon or not, because so far none of the new names are familiar to me.

In terms of casting…ethnicity/looks DOES NOT MATTER unless it impacts the storyline/backstory. The movies completely changed multiple main/side characters…aged some up by a couple decades, changed hair colors or other physical characteristics.

Its more interesting he play as Hagrid or maybe race swap Lucius Malfoy, include draco malfoy. with this HBO can fill "the diverse" check list.
What a stupid idea that is… yes change the race of Lucius…. How about they cast Essiedu as Kingsley and give him a larger role… why does the show have to have race swapping? That thought process is just asinine.
