If you want to catch redtail cats without the cost and logistical difficulties of a trip to South America, they are stocked in a lot of Thai fisheries. Fish right in the edge for them - baits 30cm from the bank in 40cm of water is good enough.

I'm late watching this one, but it was an incredible trip from my couch. :P Those red tail catfish are really pretty, and they seem to keep their colors even as they get bigger which is nice. Maybe you'll get to go again next year!

Sorubim is the coolest looking catfish I have EVER seen! Did you get to taste a red tail while down there? Or any of the fish? There were no CCC portions of the video. Great series none the less.
Such gorgeous fish,those striped catfish are just so different from our cats..But I'd have to say,those were some super chunky, healthy looking fish.Especially those Redtails..Fat lil heifers..

Little advice if your hunting big Paraíba use deep sea rods paraiba witch is another name for lou lou grow to about 200IBs or more so I’d upgrade your gear Also those small runs could have been big piranha like black piranha witch can grow to about 20IBs
Dude there's so many catfish species in the Amazon, many aren't even cataloged yet. I consider myself decent at fish id. I'm a lifelister with 57 species caught (i just started my list) The first catfish I have no idea the species (possible it doesn't have a name) the second was for sure a Tiger Shovelnose Catfish. Suribim...Tiger Shovelnose in the aquarium trade. They are highly predatory and you can catch on moving baits pretty regularly too in the right spots.
I think I need you as guide to catch to just catch regular cats 😂😂🙏
