    Good stuff Josh.
    LCNP is in my local area & a favorite spot for a spin.
    I'll add a couple items to your list, On a hot summers day it's pretty good as it's well shaded by all the trees. Also as you mentioned in the colder months it can be really cold, a general rule of thumb is it's always a few degrees (3 to 5 deg) lower than up in the surrounding suburbs of North Ryde or Macquarie.
    If it's a windy day you can get quite a lot stick debris but otherwise it's generally a pretty clean road as it gets swept regularly by National Parks.
    You can also extend the route for each lap a little as well, at the eastern end cross the weir and follow the park road past the national parks building/coffee shop, it goes over a little rise and is approx 1km to the turn point at the end of the road. Plus you can add that nasty little hill up Lane Cove depot rd.(or even tack in a loop around the suburban streets at the top of that hill).
    It can get a bit busy on a warm sunny Sunday from around midday onwards with all the picnic/bbq people, so if riding in that scenario just ride accordingly (most will be at the Eastern end though).
    The coffee shop in the park is open until 4pm, good for a late afternoon coffee ride.
    A couple other good local coffee shops in North Ryde are Tilt on Blenheim Rd & Flame Cafe on Cox's rd.
    There can be some good local fauna spotting, Wallaby's, Possums, Echidna's, families of Ducks, Water Dragon's even came across a big Python enjoying the sun by the side of the road. Always plenty of Cockatoo's & the Scrub Turkey's can be a bit of a menace when on the road.

    Just did my first ride in LCNP after watching this video. Had a near miss with a bush turkey within the first few minutes, which was a good reminder to watch out for the wildlife. Thanks for all the tips, especially the routes for getting there!

    Another great video Josh. Keep up the great work. Food for thought; do a video on the Crosslands Reserve/Somerville Rd climb at Galston. I think it is Sydney’s truely best kept secret climb. It’s on the eastern side of Galston Gorge; and takes you to the bottom of the valley, but with no hairpin turns.

    There's also some good gravel trails all over the park. I once rode a trail west of Turramurra during a wet day and inadvertently took home a leech with me. I thought my shoe was starting to give me me a blister but it was just a leech bite.

    • @joshkwan
      @joshkwan  5 месяцев назад

      That’s a great point, I’ve ridden the gravel trails to the north around Pennant hills. With a few water crossings it’s easy to pick up leeches haha

      Sorry mate they are not, also no bikes allowed off road within this part of the park. You are in luck though, the fire trail just to the north ofthis area is great for gravel riding, albiet lots of steep climbs.
      Jump onto the Gloucester Fire Trail from Wallalong Crescent and head north along the firre trail to Pennant Hills
