If you want to see a great live concert, watch George Michael at Princess Diana's Concert of Hope. He stole the show. I couldn't believe it. When he performed "Killer/Papa was a Rolling Stone", it was one of his best performances. His band and backup singers were tremendous. Many of them stayed with him since his "Wham" days. He also performed, "Father Figure" , Stevie Wonder's "loves in need of love today", "One more try" in gospel rendition and of course his "Freedom 90". Believe me, you won't be disappointed. Another great duet he did was with Ray Charles "Blame it on the Sun" , one of my favs. RIP George, one beautiful man, inside and out but gone too soon.
I love the concert for Hope. He was phenomenal. Those Background Singers were with him for years and years and years. Shirley once said that they had so many other projects but anytime George would call and say I need you in the studio or I need you on this performance they would drop everything and go. He loved them and they loved him. He knew the beautiful talent those back up singers possessed. A fantastic concert I watch often on Blu-rayIs the 25 live concert. I was fortunate enough to see that concert twice only a few months apart. Once in New York at Madison Square Garden and once in Washington DC at the Verizon center. It was mind blowing.
That was phenomenal.
In a time when 90% of the music is just garbage, there actually was a time not so very ago when artists like George and Elton made some of the best, most heartfelt music in history. Auto-tune and lip-sync were unheard of and not needed, because real voices and instruments ruled the day...Many of today's artists might be remembered for a decade or two....George Michael and Elton John's music will be listened to as long as there are people around to hear it...RIP George!
This is an Elton John classic. George Michaels had Elton as a special guest in this concert to sing Elton John's song. They were good friends. Elton John and his music are legendary

Have loved George Michael since 3rd grade in the 80's.
Elton had just completed a year of drug rehab when he was invited to do this. He said he was worried about performing while totally sober because he hadn't done that in decades. By the time he was done he knew he could do it, and that he enjoyed doing it.
He's another one that still sounds like good even these days

More duets! lol 1) 1985: A very young George Michael with Stevie Wonder singing Stevie's song: "Love's In Need of Love Today" performed at the Motown Returns To The Apollo performance where everyone and anyone from Motown performed on the same stage. George was invited to sing. Yes! He was invited! He was one of only 3 "white" artists who were invited to sing. He was asked if there was a Motown artist he wanted to perform with and he said Stevie Wonder b/c he admired the hell out of Stevie. He blew everyone away and Stevie became a huge fan of George! Elton John's Eighth top ten hit, way back in 1974. Went to #2 on the Billboard Singles Chart I believe. The man has had around 20 top ten hits and around forty top twenty hits. More gold records than any singles artist except Elvis.
Generation X missed out on Elton John's prime when Elton could do no wrong from 1970-1975.

George was the best - he doesn't need a duet, he's amazing on his own and it annoys me that it is all the 'reactors' do. There are loads of George on his own.
Who got out of the bed on the wrong side today? Yeah George is unparalleled as a solo artist and yeah there is tonnes of stuff people could react to, but these duets are awesome, plain fact, they still deserve to be heard and seen by a younger generation. This guy seems to like George so far give him time to get into George's solo stuff, there's no rush.

I hate to say this but unfortunately a lot of the younger generation is so used to the auto tune and how generic music and sound today. If you don’t sound like the previous artist you don’t make it on the playlist rotation on the radio. Oh where are the days when all artists sang with their actual voices without the aid of anything else. They seem to be long gone. Very few artists today have the talent to sing.

Yes because he backed out of the US market. He had many number ones that follow this in the UK and the rest of Europe. The man was phenomenal songwriter and producer. He sold over 115 million records in his lifetime. He’s known to be one of the best and most talented artist ever to come out of the UK. The man holds so many honors and awards. He was a musical genius.

@@michaelcrawford5083 , the good news is that America is not the only market. UK and Europe have a massive market. And he’s considered one of the best and most talented UK artists of all time. I for one, always followed his career after he chose to step away from the US market in the early 90s. It’s too bad, but the US missed out on a lot of great music.
@@rosemiller2990 I think the American fans didn't miss out to be honest, sure they weren't there when LWP was popular and albums after that, but what else? George wasn't even on camera anymore, in the UK we barely saw him on TV, he didn't do any interviews (and if he did it was very very very little of them).

I'm from the US. & It still makes my blood boil when I think of all the gifts from George that his fans right here got short-changed because of the suits, money, and the enormous price a great artist would have to pay for doing what he loved to do. George most definitely acquired many loving fans here, however, they didn't know what happened to him. You have to remember there was no internet at this time! I don't blame George one bit, he was treated awfully here, because of their need for control, greed, the next headline, anything where money was & still is concerned. I 100% believe money is the root of all evil! ( just about everything) It's really obvious when watching & reading these reactions. What are most of the requests? Everything from the FAITH album, which I love as well but George took off like a shooting star from then on. That's why I feel we need to spread the love, George's love, picking up where we left off. George only got more fantastic, as the seasons of his & our lives moved on. Other than my son, George has been & still is one of my most precious blessings in life. I only hope that George's gifts can be spread more around the world, because George is love & what does our world need the most right now? Real love to get us through this crewel world, right here & right now! Who else can touch our hearts with love more than our George? 🗺🎶💞💝😇
