For the F80, nothing compares to Active Autowerke equal length midpipe with non-comp exhaust. Nice, clean sound. No burbles or pops. Proper sound for an M3. I cannot stand the sound of F8Xs that sound like the one in this vid. I love TLG though, so no hate.

Competition Package engine has max power at 7000 rpm. Much more high revving engine than without CP (max power at 5500 rpm.. 😖) I prefer no pops too but CP engine is so much better
And yes, equal lenth exhaust sounds the best for sure

Great video TLG! I love the sound of the single midpipe. I’m running the VRSF downpipes and single midpipe. I found that the bootmod3 time with 1 second burble duration and level 3 aggression sounds really good!

Honestly, it sounds good and better than AA+ a stock rear muffler, however, the slight improvement does not worth $4000 to do so. I can reserve this money for a set of Dinan carbon air intake plus two full sets of Michelin pilot sport 4S..
But if $ is no object...this is great

Good to know. I have an F82 w/ MPE and I’ve been toying with some exhaust mods.
After hearing this, I’ve lost all hope in finding a way to make my F80 sound good.
iv seen other videos of valvetronic designs. they actually sound pretty good. look them up. they use an f80 and is equal length. im buying their exhaust from them soon.
Equal length midpipes fix the sound. Pair it to a MPE exhaust and it'll be good.
The Valvetronic Design exhaust will do you so many wonders! I have it on my M4 and it’s a huge game changer.

What shift knob is that? I bought an m performance knob for mine and I’m not sure I like it. Too small and stock has a funny angle

My F83 comp burbles loads and really cracks when letting off throttle at higher revs. Only a month old so only getting louder
TheLogicprouser, I have the F83 base model. Maybe that's a factor.

Big fan Tommy, but I have an F80 ZCP with BM3 and it sounds much better than this setup you have going on. IMO, it sounds to Ricer. Dial down the burbles in the BM3 unless that's your kind of thing.
My burbles are oem. They get louder when you have a midpipe

If there ever was a car that NEEDED an LS swap, this is it. Too bad the E46 and E92 motors are gone. For the turbo 6 in the M products has sounded like crap since day 1.

Two answers. First, I’ve been working from home lately so I don’t have an issue with that ha ha. Second, the cold start is actually quieter than stock with the valves closed.

I think you should get a single midpipe. It is non resonates. Single midpipes do not come with a resonator

Seriously who are these people who dislike this video? Tommy do you get vibrations in the back in sport or sport plus with hard acceleration? I do get them a bit... seems to come on the exhaust area..
Maybe your vibrations come from the cross brace. Add spacers

Stage 1 oem burbles. Comp models have quite a lot of burbles
