I’ve been using the curl maker with the honey hydrate leave in and almond jai butter from Camille rose. My hair feels amazing and stays moisturized for the whole week inbetween my wash days, and my twists stay shiny and elongated, no flaking.

I'm late to the game...But I follow the same routine BEFORE finding Adwoa. For styling, I use Camille Rose Honey Leave-In, Adwoa Baomint Lean In or Melanin Hair Care Leave-In, Adwoa Baomint Defining Cream, Topped with Camile Rose Curl Maker. My coils are happy, healthy, springy, and moisturized!
I just ordered the Camille Rose chocolate decadence for the holidays. I don’t care how it works because its chocolate 🍫🤤

My favorite gel for wash & go’s is the Curly Magic by Uncle Funky’s people compare it to the Curl Maker all the time. & it also goes on light and has a really strong hold. I love it💚

Curlmaker is my absolute favorite gel. It's also bomb for twistouts underneath the curlaide moisture butter, aloe whipped butter gel and almond jai.

Your hair looks great as usual. I tried Curl Maker about a year ago and it was a no-go. I really wanted to like it because it's so popular but it just did not work for me. Plus, it was very expensive. I ultimately returned it. However, I do feel that your hair responds differently to products at various stages, so I'm here for revisiting old favs.

Hey Tina, quick question. I was about to purchase that gelato until I seen that protein was one of the first ingredients. Does the potent protein have an effect on your hair at all? Is this a gel you can often use or only for special occasions, do the main ingredient being protein?

I used curl maker once and it made my hair so crispy and flakey. I took it back.

I like the CR Curl Maker....it never flaked on my hair with any LOC which I've used. My favorite gel is UFD Curly Magic, now that's my boo!

Your hair looks lovely, I may need to try this gel. My current gel favorites are Curls Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Jelly, Curl Mix Pure Flaxseed Gel, KeraVada High Definition Gel, Uncle Funky's, and Shea Moisture Red Palm Styling Gel (hate the container). I have a couple more at home that I have try/use: Bask&Bloom Twirly Hair Gel and Koils By Nature Herbal Curl Defining Gel.
I also have some products from the following hairlines and want to purchase their hair gels: Uniqurl Miche (if Miche has gel), and Adwoa (I bought that Curl Box too!). 🤗

My mainstay was Curl Maker until I taper cut my hair and winter came...now my hair's like, "no mam." Kinky Curly Custard and their leave in are my go-to for now.

I use the Curl Love and Curl Maker. It gives me a bomb washngo. The key to using it is you have to be in the shower and on soaking wet hair. I don't get as long of a washngo with this as I do with my Wetline Xtreme. I get about 4 days with Curl Love and Curl Maker combo.

I haven't used curlmaker in a minute! I need to! Its was a gel I used religiously back in 2016 and 2017! I would pair it with the sheamoisture low porosity leave in detangler and have some super moisturized and extremely defined curls with a MAXIMUM hold! Super shiny too! I would even put a little mane choice ancient Egyptian oil over the leave in sometimes for some extra luster! Back then my hair was roughly the same length as yours right now, so I feel as if it gave me a strong hold then because my hair was shorter! Now that my hair is longer when I tried it I got way more volume and the hold was medium, almost soft. But that I still have some that I want to revisit again maybe try layering!

I love CRcurlmaker and pair it with CRhoney hydrate even though I don't use it all the time (when it rains or there is high humidity) it's the best for WASH&GO's.
My absolute favorite is Synergi reinforce shampoo&conditioner then I style with glaze&mousse it's my go to for a WASH&GO

My favorite gel is still the Cheers Gelato but I have two new CR Curl Maker stocked away. I always pair it with the Jane Carter Curls To Go Untangle Me Leave In and get a bomb wash and go out of it.
Blizz quick question about the cheers gelato. I want to purchase it but I'm protein sensitive does the protein impact your hair? Is this a gel you can often use or should it be limited?
jazmine Pepper Hey sis! I’m type 4, low porosity, also protein sensitive. The cheers gelato is my favorite styler ever. I can usually get 7-8 days out of it for a wash and go. The cast is real on day 1, but as the week goes on my hair feels surprisingly softer and moisturized. It’s not drying and never makes my hair feel rough at all. Give it a go! ♥️

I buy mine at cvs @ 40% off. If you sign up for the cvs rewards card all you need to do is sign up to receive their emails. Every Thursday they send you a coupon that you could use within a week. The coupon ranges from 30 to 40% off ( if you are just signing up give it a few weeks to show up on your email). And when you shop regularly at cvs you get different offers for example $3 off of $12 hair products. These CRT coupons show up on your app or you can print them out at the red coupon machine. I paid about $9 for my bottle. Hope this helps you out. ☺️

I really wanted to like the Curl Maker. Love all the other Camille Rose products I have, but the Curl Maker flakes so bad on me. I may try coupling it with another leave-in but it flakes with the line of products it comes from.
Girl you not alone !!! Either curl maker works out bomb or it flakes ... it must have something to do with porosity cause some people it flakes no matter WHAT they use it with and I’ve never had it flake
I’m so surprised that it makes your hair hard. I love the Camille Rose Curlmaker, it has shine and it leaves my hair moisturized. The Gelato actually leaves a harder hold on my hair than the curlmaker. I wonder if the leave in makes a difference in the performance.

Probably Not - curl maker is just hit or miss for some people ... only advice I can give is try it again on soaking wet hair and don’t use a lot of leave in ....

I LOOOOOVE short hair! I'm trying to figure out products. I'm on round 1. I paid $20 for Melanin. $20 for me in a choke hold. I don't want to switch it up until every crumb in gone😊

Kinky Curly Custard is my favorite gel for wash n go's.
you don't need Black Friday for my favorite wng gel... Eco Gold! Never lets me down. My current #2 is the Gel-lo from the Mane Choice Cool laid line. The Curlmaker doesn't do it for me. Ended up giving mine away.
See I tried that eco gold before and hated it ... but everyone keeps telling me I gotta try it again ... everyone is like nah sis must’ve been user error 🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣
QuinnRae see, you like gels with serous hold that’ll give you 7 day hair. Eco gold is not that lol. It’ll give you definition and volume without a crunch

Try using more water curl friend I treat the curl maker like I'm using the Kinky Curly Custard! Also try a different leave in that make me translucent in color OR a leave in that kind of foams up.
Ones that I recommend:
As I am: OG Leave in and Long & Luxe Leave in
TMC: Tropical leave in, Cool Laid Leave in, 3 in 1 conditioner, Prickly Pear Leave in, or the Proceed with caution leave in.
Sheamoisture: Low porosity leave in Detangler, Raw Sheabutter Detangler.
Those are a few I know will work and have tried! Hope this helps!💙💙

My favorite "natural" gel is UFD. I like the Curl Maker paired with CRN honey hydrate, coconut water leave in, or curl love moisture milk. I prefer the Cheers Gelato over Curl Maker.
Belinda do you find that the main ingredient protein in the gelato has effected your hair at all? I really want to purchase the gelato but the protein ingredient has me apprehensive. Is this a product for protein sensitive?

I was like no Quinn don’t do it when she paired the the leave in with the gel lol, but the curl maker and uncle funky daughter as well the kinky curly custard gives me that weird wet but dry and brittle feeling. If it’s aloe based and apply it on wet hair it feel like straight water and all softness from deep conditioning just disappears. I’ll give is it a little pass lol 😂 I want the adowa beauty gel.

In all my years I’ve never wash n goed my hair because I feel it’ll look like a shrunken Jheri curl mess lol Curl maker is the truth though. I use it like most would use a Eco styler etc because my skin and scalp can’t take unnatural products . I use it on my edgings or for buns to tame flyaways it’s perfect. I feel like this one bottle will last two years though lmao got it on their $10 sale earlier in the year
