Yesterday I went to the boys and girls club and it was a hollowween party so there was a really good haunted house and I volunteered because we're allowed to and I did really good
14:54 Damn, I've never seen anyone use that bee swarm effect before! It was crazy to walk through - props to the production crew for the creativity! 🐝🐝
As someone who proudly works at Universal Studios, i must say the Knotts really knocked their 50th Anniversary out of the park every year with Knotts Scary Farm. The line-up for HHN was decent, not the best and would've definitely made some changes of the houses to include that were certainly left out, and after seeing this video it looked like Six Flags had a terrible issue with not just a lack of scare actors but also a lack of story to tell. Universal was consistent with the theatricality of their mazes while Knotts exceeded with the overall quality and storytelling put in their mazes, and Knotts has original mazes which makes the creativeness feel more expressed and i love that. I think Fright Fest had their cake and at it too with Saw and Conjuring. Big year for them as i believe it is the first time they have used IPs as mazes, but I noticed the issues from layout of maze, to how it feels so empty without scare actors or other props, and the ending feels a bit lackluster in my opinion. Out of the three, I have to give this year's best Halloween event to Knotts. They continue to impress me to this day
I worked for Six Flags entertainment as a director for several years. The issue with Fright Fest was then, and appears to still be, a lack of caring, planning, and urgency. The budget is laughable for something leadership desires to be "the best Halloween events in the country." I once brought in all the props from my home haunt because we had already gone over budget and a house wasn't even decorated yet. It's also stuck in a middle ground where it's trying to be scary enough for horror fans but not too scary for families, an issue I raised in meetings for years that always fell on deaf ears. The result comes off as amateur and corny most of the time. Staffing appears to still be a major issue. At the parks I helped with, there was a lack of scare actors and almost no training at all for them, just guidelines given for interactions with guests. Because the actors employed are typically under the age of 20, there would also be constant call outs for school activities. I remember one season having to suit up to work a house more nights than not because of a lack of actors (not that I didn't enjoy it). Six Flags either has to go all in on Fright Fest with a real budget or scale it back for families, they can't have it both ways.
Saw was so underwhelming. They had like what, 6 actors? No scares, the pig mask guy just walked in looking like he was trying to find his car keys and then said “nope not in here.” The speaker in the last room was too visible.
It's really hard to comprehend just how amateur these houses are. A great example of this is at 4:05 the camera man is literally in a hallway with no doors leading to the scene of the priest performing the exorcism. You can literally see the priest actor waiting for people to come down the hall so he can start yelling. Lack of scares, lack of atmosphere, lack of cohesion. I came to check this out because a lot of people are saying they're coming here this year because the IPs are better than HHN. Great IPs don't mean anything if the delivery is this bad.
Why don’t u do it then? Since you can stage it snd do it better than them! Stop criticizing their hard work and talent. It takes ALOT to put these studio shows on. Okay. Thx
@@daisy4323 I have, for 3 years in a row I helped put together a haunt with 1/10 of the budget Six Flags had and we delivered a much better experience for our guests. It's a lot of work, there's no doubt, but it's really hard to find any viable excuse for just how bad these Six Flags haunts are. It's obvious that management didn't have any passion and the actors didn't have any direction.
They was so awesome & amazing ! All haunted rides ! Definitely worth the express pass to enjoy all the rides, not worth the regular long wait times (3 hours)
I came here for Saw X, which was awesome at SF Great America! I also saw your dance party house, and that looked cool! SFGAm doesn't allow anything like these kinds of videos, but ours are pretty cool. I look forward to seeing the rest of the haunts in your vid! Our street scareactors are all really great!
Is this at Universal Studios in California or where? It’s Amazing and professionally acted and presented; although sick 😅lol. I’m glad I’m watching it on video and not live. Thx
Sadly I’ll be missing out on fright fest this year so thank you for posting each haunted house. I was JUST talking about fright fest and this came right on time literally
So glad they remade and revamped truth or dare, the og was really bad from what I’ve seen but I loved the concept it had, glad it got given some justice in 2023
I feel sorry for anyone that wasted, or is about to waste their money on this so called “haunt”. There are local farms and hayrides that do a far better job than this on a much smaller budget! Elaborate props and settings need quality actors, make up, and costumes to bring it all together. Actors knowing their “roles” and playing to the scene they’re working create a good scary haunt.
You still need to purchase a general admission ticket for park and thrill ride admission. The Haunted Attraction Pass does not cover park and thrill ride admission. Though each park sells bundled tickets of a gen add ticket plus a Haunted Attraction Pass.
Idk what happened to magic mountains fright fest last year the haunts were really amazing this year for some reason seemed half assed and as other people said effortless what happened lets just hope next year will be better
26:43 I have no idea why they didn't use quick disappearing fog, or light fog. It looked like you could barely see, which means someone could get really hurt like that. Amazing video, terrible haunted houses. I think the props and sets were..ok. But they put no effort into makeup and special masks. I wouldn't expect these haunts to be as good as HHN, but I have local haunts better than these.
man the sets are amazing but these actors man...suuuuuck. also they make these sets dope and makeup are OKAY..but the costumes are terrible. its like a customer put on makeup and decided to go act. pretty lazy job. and this is coming from someone who has been acting in haunts for 15 years. very lack luster job. production team was also very lazy. but hey the six flags in SA is even WORSE. but who ever decided to make a rave haunted house needs to be fired for wasting production money. so pointless
I did this during my holiday in Greece last year. There was a sign up saying "if anyone jumps out at you, please don't lash out or punch them" 😅. I'm guessing a few of their staff has been punched in the face a few times, lol!
Six Flags should add a coaster to any of their Parks themed after The Conjuring or maybe their haunted mazes after any horror films under the Warner Umbrella. "Trick R' Treat" "It" "The Exorcist" "Malignant" "Unwelcome" "Body Snatchers" "House of Wax" "The Apparition" "Bad Moon" and "The Hills Run Red"
I’m going to fright fest on Thursday so I wanna make sure I’m not too scared so I’m watching this video but I’m pretty sure it’s not gonna be too scary No, imagine someone just going into the bath and liking horror, movies, and chasing after you I’ll be just laughing because I’m like a flexible queen
I wish I can go to all the hunted houses because last year is different there wasn't many freight fest out I think most of them went to the haunted houses but how much does each haunted houses cost all together for 1 person and for 1 hunted house how much is it?!
Yes and no. It depends on if they were screaming as loud as they can or not. It also depends on how busy the mazes are. The ones doing inhale screams are definitely hurting their throats though, I used to do those until I damaged mine from doing them. There's also some people that can use their diaphragm to scream and growl as loud as they possibly can and then they don't damage their throats.
These look really...bad. Went to HHN Hollywood this year and only Chucky and the Last of Us were on this level. Maybe the terror tram too... Everything else was top notch.
Ain’t even gonna cap, only good maze was the conjuring everything was pretty bad. Mad respect for scare actors for breaking character though to talk to you.
a lot of these houses had potential for being super cool concepts but the execution just felt very poor. like they missed the plot on a lot of these and it’s disappointing to see

LMAOOO 🤣

It’s terrible
All the screaming the actors have to do over and over again must hurt their throats!

That light water effect at 14:20 is insane lol it looks like they're walking through a body of water 😅 I've never seen that before.
We have a restaurant here that does that projector effect on the floor, it looks just like tide coming in at the beach.

HHN’s in Orlando was okay this year. The Chucky kill count was bad.
But these fright fest mazes are absolutely terrible. 😅
Is it better than shaqtoberfest at least?
You’re comparing military grade bear spray to dollar store pepper spray here
The one in Hollywood is one of my top 3 favorites from HHN this year
Ok but the first dude did a semi decent Patrick Wilson impression, if just with his voice lol
The cameraman is absorbing all the scares for the crowd, true sacrifice
