The 3rd Separate Assault Brigade created a sergeant's school to train professional soldiers. It's a sort of intensive course for training leaders, commanders, and soldiers without leaving the battlefield.

This is very good. The Ukrainians are adopting a very good NCO school standard which is based on NATO leadership training principles. These men are already experienced combat veterans from months and years of fighting. NCO training consists of every basic skill of the infantryman into leadership skills, move, shoot, and communicate using coordination and task organizing skills. The AAR or After Action Review is fundamental in both training and during combat to asses progress and problems that can be solved. In this training environment it's essential that mistakes are exposed in all possible scenarios so everyone as NCOs may use their initiative to accomplish the mission as per the commander's intent in the operations order.
They also do a really good job of what I can tell reinforcing the basics and also giving them realistic expectations for them to think about in the scenarios I seen.

The NCO is an integral part of any military, an NCO must lead by example, as well as care for his/her soldiers. I’m glad to see Ukraine is bringing the NCO concept to its military. I have sent letters to my deadbeat representatives and Senator to get their ass up and support Ukraine, I am so sorry my country is dropping the ball , but I am happy to see European countries are picking up the slack 🇪🇺 🇺🇦 🇺🇸

Their training scenarios are brutally unfair, slanted perhaps unrealistically against them. This is good. It prepares them for the worst. If you fight as if your enemy is alien invaders that outclass you in every regard, the real enemy is easy by comparison. I remember reading once about US troops in training giving the imaginary REDFOR satellite lasers that could fire once a day and other nonsense like that, just to keep the students on their toes and keep them thinking outside the box.

@@kurtlee3198Thanks for the reply. So they're using custom fuzes, and use the mines just for the charge? Then it's not a landmine anymore, and that could cause serious confusion. Anyhow, glory to Ukraine.

You do realise this is training, right?
In most combat you don't actully see who you are shooting at, this isn't call of duty.
