I really wish you guys added something that says the flasher relay is REQUIRED for functionality on CB650’s… disappointed I even asked this question in my order notes and no one said anything or responded to me. Now I have a torn apart bike with no signals because I have to wait for this to come in…
The following write-up is on the product page: "FLASHER RELAY: Installing aftermarket LED lights your signal flash rate may speed up or remain in a constant "on" state. Installing an LED flasher relay will correct this problem. If you have not purchased or installed a flasher relay, we highly recommend adding the TST 2 Pin LED Flasher Relay Gen 2-F to your order. Only one relay is required per motorcycle."
@@TSTindustriesok - “recommended” and “required” are different. Also, your video here shows wire colors that aren’t current. My unit has red, blue, and brown. No black. How am I supposed to connect the wires? Also, my bike HAD LED signals before, why would these new LED’s draw such a significantly different amount of current that I can’t just use my stock bikes relay?
@@cameron9578 For wiring, you would follow the same breakdown except brown to yellow instead of black to yellow. As far as the relay is concerned, we cover that around the 19:23 mark. ruclips.net/video/L8qW1UKsJBM/видео.html
@@TSTindustriesPLEASE for the love of god add a bigger disclaimer to your product page for CB650R owners… to tear a bike down to the ground is absolutely ridiculous and absurd you don’t even state that on the product page.
I have a rather complicated question. My 2024 CB650R has turn signals with running lights, but only has 2 wires instead of 3. I read that the housing is grounded so they don't need the negative wire and both are actually positive; one for the DRL and the other for the actual flasher. It doesn't seem possible considering the whole housing is rubber. The other possibility is the DRL being integrated into the turn signal's circuit board itself, but I find it a bit hard that it can work with 2 wires where the positive doesn't send until the flasher is turned on.
That sounds like you have an aftermarket set of signals. OE configuration on Hondas is green/orange/orange-white on one side, and green/blue/blue-white on the other. Green is ground, the solid color is the signal lead differrentiated by color per side, and theones with white stripes are the running light. If you see a wire combo different than that then the signals are not OE. It is possible that these were configured with our Running Mate product (or similar). That technology enables a single circuit signal lamp to have running and signal function. You can see that product here for reference: tstindustries.com/tst-turn-signal-running-mate-circuit-connection-kit.html
Bought this exact same bike this week and I’m super exited ;) Thanks for the review, already thinking to modify my turn signal :) Also, it would be nice if you gugs can do a review on bar end mirrors that doesn’t require the inner part of the handle bar to be removed for this bike as this is for sure something I’m looking to buy, thanks ;)
I have a 2020 cbr650r. Since the 2 pin LED flasher relay gen 2 doesn’t have the 3rd pin for ground, will the running mate still allow for front running lights along with the flasher relay? Is the relay even needed since oem flashers are already LED? Will oem flashers still have running light function if installing the 2pin relay only? In case reinstalling oem in future.
Boy...that is a bunch of loaded questions. I think your best bet is to contact our support staff through our website and go one by one with them. The running mate will work properly in all the scenarios you described but I am not sure off hand about all the other combinations you mentioned. Your front OEM signals will retain running light function even with our relay. The running light circuit is completely separate from the signaling circuit
Is it possible to have running light + turn signal on the rear of these Honda motorcycles just like how they're designed for the front? Do you sell products that would allow that via plug and play?
It's not possible on back as the plugs only have 2 pins. You can only do that by wiring 3Rd pin on indicator to another power source. I did this before and it works fine, but takes a while.
I don't understand your question. The OE signals pull a lot more current than the aftermarket ones. That cause the OE signal relay to get symptomatic (either hyperflash or no flash depending on your setup). So you can either wire in load resistors to pull more current with the new signals, or replace your OE flasher relay to one that handles this type of setup. We do have a flasher relay for this bike and also have the video showing how to install it.

I believe that the anchors for bar ends will rotate so mounting mirrors to those will not be very practical.
