She has lived at Wilhelma since October 14, 1965.
She was born around 1963 in Africa and will be 60 years old next year.

She looks so healthy and fit for such a senior lady! I know in the wild they usually only live about 40 years. She's not only far surpassed that, she doesn't even look close to 60! I've seen a few other older females at other zoos and they usually have loss if muscle tone, skin elasticity, droopy lips, etc., but not this queen! They must take excellent care of her physically and mentally! What a special gorilla! ❤
