You can really feel the emotion that comes from the singer, but with all that being said, I think that you are over exaggerating the emotions that go with the song. I think you’re taking the emotion from Rengoku’s death, and applying it to this song. I love singing along with passion filled lyrics, and with this song, I just get pulled into the character of Rengoku. At the beginning, there is a steel to it, an absolute certainty. As it goes on, it heats up, such as even the same words have different meanings, the confidence turns to passion. Then as I near the end, it devolves into a raging inferno of emotion, it isn't passion anymore, or confidence, nothing so simple, it becomes pure unadulterated *emotion*. I don't really know how to describe it, but it builds up untill it explodes into this grand climax of untamed emotions; fear, anger, determination, compassion, and many more I can't identify. I have listend to this countless times since it came out, and I still can't get over how completely it draws me in. One of the biggest things I love about it? The certainty of purpose behind the character. Rengoku knows exactly what he is doing and why, he is determined and ready to die with purpose. Funnily enough, one of the lines I feel the most comes from Hamilton the Musical "If you stand for nothing Burr, what will you fall for?" Rengoku knows exactly what he is doing, and what he is dying for, and he stands for that untill the end. THAT is the reason I love his character, and why I feel this song embodies him so completely.

Been reading the manga and I gotta say that Rengoku is my favorite Hashira with Shonobu in 2nd place.
Rengoku's has to be the most iconic last stand in anime. The build up to his 9th stance form was just breathtaking.
