I was in Harrods today purchasing a different Roja product and whilst there i tried APEX out and actually i really liked it. I was expecting it to be not that great given some of the reviews i had seen and read but its a solid fragrance in my opinion, As always Steven another great review :-)
I recently got decants of Elysium and Hacivat to compare before I make a full bottle purchase. I liked Elysium but wasn't blown away. I really liked Hacivat but think Elysium would be more of a mass appealing scent.

If you had to chose one summer fragrance to buy this year what would it be? I’m looking for something stunning and unique that most people outside of our particular hobby would not be familiar with and be enamored with. Any help would be appreciated
I’d say Elysium. I’m getting my bottle of Apex Monday. Now I might buy a sample of Elysium and apex before I open apex. When you buy a bottle you get a 9ml sample. I chose to get Amber Aoud because it’s one I really wants to try. So I figured I’d get that one. I also had to option to sample Elysium . So that being said. Scent split is a great place to try some. For summer. He has AWEIGH from Navitus Parfums. Louis Vuitton has Sun Song. Another I’m wanting to pick up.
"The smell is so much more important than the projection or performance" - agreed! I'd even rather have an amazing fragrance that only lasted 1 hour than a mediocre one that lasted 12 hours.

Looking for your opinion; I have a coworker/ kind of view him as a little bro especially since both his parents passed away. Anyway, long story long - he is getting married late spring/early summer 2023 outside in the south (Atlanta) at a golf club (hot and muggy is almost a given). And I want to do something kind of special for him, by finding a fragrance for his special day that is both something he will love and appreciate while also being appropriate for the season and occasion which will be formal attire. Not necessarily looking for a designer but also not apposed to it. Kinda aiming for more indie and individualistic. What would be a few of your recommendations? I plan on buying him samples to try them out and then once he decides on a favorite, gift him with a bottle. Your advice would be so helpful.
I tried Elysium today and the fragrance literally vanished in 20 mins. I'm well hydrated and used a non scented lotion. I'll just stick with zion from Alexandria Fragrances.
Zion smells like Aventus with this super strong note that I can only describe as “the smell of vitamin C”. Once I made that connection, zion was ruined for me.
@@WD.909 when I sprayed Elysium on my right hand and zion on my left hand,before Elysium disappeared I asked my mom to tell me which fragrance she likes better and she said I like the one on your left hand just a little bit more,but then she goes to say,to be honest I really couldn't tell the difference and they almost smell identical......I'm just the messenger 🤷🏻♂️
I own both of them and wear them on different situations. If longevity is priority go with BDC Parfum, this feels denser and scent stays in the room after you left it but it’s not loud. Elysium is lighter airy “cologne” style scent and have one of the best opening (and that’s it’s downfall in someways because everyone wants it to last forever) that last two hours on my skin, then it turns to white musc that gives it a sexy vibe and last 6+ on skin and on cloths until you wash it. It’s a close encounter fragrance and you get the whiffs as you move around when you think it’s not there anymore.
Tried a decant of Apex and my wife said it smells like her father's cologne. For context he's a 67 year old farmer. If generic aftershave vibes with an earthy base are your thing then have at it

The 1st day I wore Apex and also the 1st day I wore Elysium I got 4 or 5 compliments within 1.5hrs of wearing them. People love these!

Why not have an amazing smelling fragrance that also last a very long time? It shouldn't be either or, especially with the price tag on these.

How does it compare to DUA's supernova?

Had Elysium. Lasted literally an hour in my skin. Roja is a waste of money. Got rid of the bottle after a couple weeks.

You are right on target. Neroli Sauvage is great if it only it projected better.
