Rope access window cleaning with rigging and lots of the drop.

  • Another big building, about 35 stories. I find making a load share this way is much faster than building Y hangs and it equalizes nicely. I'm also finally using a Sorbo channel now and I don't know how I ever cleaned windows before without one! Never going back! The clips are pretty annoying though. The main reason I liked the Ninja is easy rubber changes. I don't think I would risk changing the rubber in a Sorbo while on a drop.
    By the way for you people as OCD as me, the only reason I threw out so much rope is that it was landing on a sub-roof and I was using long ropes so we just picked mine to make sure we got down all the way. As anyone that works rope access knows you don't want to find out its not long enough once you're at the bottom. I also know the owner of the bike I put my bucket in, it wasn't just some random bike that got stuck in the exclusion zone :P Also my God I would NEVER drop the ropes the way I did after tie the butterfly! Talk about shock loading! That was soo soo stupid! I don't know why nobody has commented on it yet lol.
    *History fact- This hotel is built where the famous Alberta Boot Company store was located from 1978 - 2008. I can't even imagine how many cowboy boots must have been made in those 30 years! The company still exists so if you're in the market for a pair of cowboy boots they're highly recommended www.albertaboot.com

    Love watching these videos. They help me keep up to date on my rigging abilities. The jobs I take on are typically unconventional, where no one has ever rope accessed it before and there are few, if any fixed anchor points. Often have to get creative, and purchase new equipment. The great thing about no fixed anchor points is that I have virtually no competition to bid against me and I can charge whatever I need to.

Like I’ve been high up in trees mountains and things that I’ve built and planes. My fear is there on these things but not to where it locks my body up. However on taller buildings bridges etc I will totally lock up. Crazy

A squeegee from that height would kill somebody stone dead in an instant. What happens if you run out of water

    • @BrodyYYC
      @BrodyYYC  4 года назад +2

      Then you're screwed lol. Sometimes you run low but you can usually conserve more towards the end when that happens. This 5.5 gallon is basically good for a 2 window 40 story drop as long as it's not right in the sun.

    I dont get why your not wiping up? Yeah you may not be leaving any lines or bits down the sides of the windows but on the frame your leaving loads to end up driping getting caught in the wind and blowing back onto the window leaving it dirty?

    Why don't you detail? And why don't you use moerman liquidator? Do you ever get complaints of drip marks? I am subscribed and they are genuine questions. Thank you

    • @BrodyYYC
      @BrodyYYC  3 года назад

      I detailed every single window in this video before I squeegee it. When the person I was doing this contract for saw the video he said "really good work but less detailing next time" You'll be hard pressed to find high-rise window cleaners that detail windows. They won't even carry a rag.
      The biggest channel Moerman makes is 22 inches and my standard size I use is 24. I'm usually use a Sorbo with a Ninja handle. I was just using a Ninja on this one because it's a construction clean so I'm constantly re-cleaning the same area anyways.
      I've never had complaints about drip marks because my windows don't drip. That's why I either pre-detail the top or stay a millimeter or so from it. I'm too OCD to let windows have drip marks.

      but ya detailing isn't standard in high-rise. I personally wish it was but my main concern is drips from the top. That is what the people inside are going to notice.

      It depends on so much so it's not something I can really put a number on. It's not that dangerous in comparison to other things like even driving your car for example. On top of that it's an extremely safety oriented industry. It can be hard work though you're right about that :) I just pause my gym membership in the summer because I'm already getting a free workout.
