Fantastic job, and amazing video! I also loved the comedy that you added! Just wanted to add what I believe someone mentioned below as well. There is a Capacitor soldered to the volume pot that is designed to be a "treble bleed" control, which is why you cant roll down to clean up the sound. Get a pair of wire cutters and cut it off, you will see a huge difference. Typically a treble bleed "mod" is done with a capacitor and a resistor in pair, they tried to cheap out on it by just using a cap only, and it makes the guitar worse. Loved the video and subscribed! Lifelong Kramer fan and player since the early 1990's, and a certified guitar technician since 1996. : ) I would never give someone false info to ruin an instrument. : )
Nice testimony from a certified guitar tech! I bought this exact same Beretta. Looking forward to it's arrival. I've seen the Capacitor snip mod, and I was wary, being an avid DIY guy. I will be snipping with confidence! Thanks for this!
Thanks for the video man. Glad to see someone playing a variety of styles on this guitar and showing clean tones as well. I love the look of these, and plan to buy one as a modding base. gonna add another pickup, selector switch and a tone knob
man oh man oh man. that is certainly an ambitious project. kramer might roll over in his grave or bed. not sure if thereis a kramer. or do i know what he would do. I applaud your efforts nonetheless
@@travisraab yeah it changes for the better when you take out the capacitor. Not as noticeable on super high though but still better and I think it made the pickup sound better too.
@@travisraab played it stock for a while bc i was away at college and broke, still am lol but first upgraded to gotoh locking tuners, then i put a tusq nut in, black dome knob for volume, most recently i said screw it and put in a vegatrem. @@travisraab definitely cheaper routes you can take as far as bridges goes i just really wanted to try a vegatrem and i dont plan on ever getting rid of the guitar. But man ill tell you tuning is rock solid between the tuners nut and bridge and just plays like absolute butter now
There's a capacitor on the volume pot you can cut off and it will improve the on or off problem the the capacitor causes ! It's the simplest mod on this guitar and it works ! I just got a white one and I was going to put a Seymour Duncan pickup in it ..........but it sounds great after the cutting the treble bleed capacitor (which needs a resistor in series to do any good !) so I've decided to leave it stock ........at least for now !
I'm gonna but one of these to mod the hell out of and do some killer art on as a finish. The stock electronics are definitely going by by as well. Cool video
For a guitar at $179.00, it doesn't sound or look bad, I personally think Kramer have been making great affordable guitars & I think I might purchase one since I perfer single pickup guitars 😎
I'm a huge fan of using the bridge pickup, it's rare that you hear one that is both just as treble keen as well as warm like this... I actually think this configuration is fantastic. NOT A BAD PRICE EITHER
do you think this guitar would be good for someone whos just starting and isnt into metal at all and more into like nirvana/weezer/radiohead type sounds? (Id be pairing it with a fender mustang lt25 amp)🤔
Setting up a 6 screw vibrato you need to have the screws at the right height, most people just loosen the claw. Bridge screws that are to low will destroy performance regardless of the claw screws. See a video by master luthier Galeazzo Frudua.
Nice video and congratulations! it just came in Candy Blue. Can I understand the steps you took to soften the tremolo action? in addition to loosening the screws, did you also remove a spring or change the position? Thanks so much!
loosening the screws to the correct distance will do the trick alone. i'm not sure how many springs came with it (prob 3), and there's only 3 in there now. congrats on your new guitar. be carefuly to mess with the screws until the action is correct. you might have to make other adjustments later
Travis , did you figure out the taper pot hack ? I can't believe these guitar are $179-$200 . I have a Candy Blue one and it is damn good . I don't do the whammy/tremolo . I'm going to wear this one out so I'm going to buy another . Hopefully quality is still there .
$200 for that is just insane. Maple neck, mahogany body, locking nut. WTF?! Put a nice Humbucker with coil tap capability in that, and you're off to the races!
I have this as well as the Focus VT-211S. The volume pot is supposed act as a sort of mid boost. I like it. Most hate it. Anyways, this is a rad guitar but I play the Focus VT-211S a lot more. It's just more fun to play, for me personally. It's cheaper to.
Hi to anyone that could help. I'm a novice at guitar tech stuff and would like to upgrade the stock block to a brass block keeping the same bridge. Could anyone help me with what size I need.. Or point me in the right direction.

Thanks igorsova!

Clip the cap inside the cavity, just remove it and it brings the pickup to life and the volume knob!

If you loosen the tremolo bridge screws holding the bridge down, the bridge is actually floating.

Just bought the blue candy version last night for $250 Canadian. Love it.
i need to change the strings on mine real bad. what kind of music are you playing?
Part of the problem with the pot maybe that, this guitar has a basic treble bleed 0.002 uf cap across the lugs of the pot.

to fix the volume rolloff problem just remove the capacitor from the volume pot.
