Hey Coach, I know this video is from 4 years ago, but have you posted any cut up’s of mesh vs man where the guys carry up the hash since you’ve posted this? I’m having a hard time visualizing that part of the concept. I love the video and the breakdown of the progression!
Good stuff, just curious on the 3 3 stack if Backers are taught to hit any crossers have you had any issues with this? The backside out would be open quick in typical cover 3 look just have to watch for them switching to C2 on you. Just joined your channel, u do a great job
Hi coach, thanks for putting this together. I’m having one hell of a time reading The Perfect Pass right now and I’m at the part where Mumme realizes that he always wants the left to right aspect of the formation rather than mirroring. Quick question, what is that program you’re using to diagram the play? I’m starting off right now and using pen and paper. Thanks!
Thanks so much for watching Coaches!! Quick question, as you coaches know every video I create is for YOU so please comment on this thread and let me know what you would like to see a video about. And also, don’t forget to pick up your FREE Offensive drills if you haven’t yet: bit.ly/FREEdrills
I like the mesh but I prover it when the F run a (slow) Wheel and the R always run a post. (And the F is the 3rd WR by the 3×1). Because in the two back and the 3×1 you have a pick on the Backers who cover the slots and a Post-Wheel Concept on the backside of the mesh. In 2×2 the run still a (slow) Wheel and post because of the advantege of the pick. And the read is always pick Post Wheel mesh. Sorry for my bad Englisch and the writing mistakes but I am from Germany. Thanks for teaching us/me youre idea from the spread offense from Germany
@@CoachMcKie yes this is the different you work with young kids, but grown up with football and we work with teenagers and mens nur who never have contect befor with football. So we like to use the experentce WR to tun the Post Wheel and teaching the new WR the mesh concept. But here in Germany we are about 5 or more years behind. You can see at the "new " trend in the GFL (the Divioson 1 of Germany) the no hudl offense of Chip Kelly
i've been running mesh for 20+ years all the way back to joe gibbs bunch package days and will actually will cross the F & R in your version of the concept. i call those positions #1(Z) #2(H) #3(Y) we will mesh anytime and everywhere. spot pass shake route, mesh fade option. Dan Robinson is a friend of mine. i've been in a room with Andrew Coverdale, Robinson, Mike Emmendorfer. The concept is endless. the zone read scheme adds a big dilemma for the fit and replace teams trying to defend hals version
@@CoachMcKie any type 3x1 formation either from stagnate or motioned to. long and short motion.. I'm not a empty formation guy but doesn't mean i won't look at doing so just means i will try all other means to accomplish other ways to mesh
Pivot and turn? How does this time up with the out/flat/mesh?... I used three steps last year and felt like it did not time up consistently ... talk to some other coaches that run it and may go to a quick five step
Coach Mumme says he is trying to keep it the same as his Y-Stick and Y-Corner concepts...which are quick game concepts for him. That's why it is almost a catch and throw type of route.
I think this video is faultless in showing how easy n simple running the air raid offense is n can be. Same tags/routes, same reads, same responsibilities, same results...just out of different formations.
Love your videos coach!! I always learn a ton when watching them.
Glad to hear it! And thanks for the kind words coach!

Thanks for the kind words
I love mesh.
Coach, Do you have any points of reference for coaches talking defense like you talk about the spread. Keep doing what you do and thanks in advance
Coach Mac and Match Quarters. Also Joe Daniel.
Definitely Joe Daniel

Mesh wheel is a nasty tag to use once your kids understand mesh.

I know it would change the progression but I also like 3x1 mesh from the left side.
Hi coach, do you think this would work with the F at the TE position?
Yes sir I do.
What program are you using for the plays
3 step drop from gun coach? Thanks
Can you make a video about being a coordinator
Sure coach. What do you want to know?
Coach McKie game planning and calling plays. And also just other tips
You got it coach.
Ask and you shall receive. I hope I can grow up to be like coach Mckie
You can do better than me coach. Haha.
what drills do you do for find grass get grass
Settle up and noose is huge

Mesh is amazing. If you could only run mesh out of one formation...which one would you choose?

Your Y is your fastest guy ?
No. The F is our fastest. The Y is our best.
toledo002 Y is typically bigger and catches the ball in traffic in the Air Raid. L may be your fastest
That's how we set up our guys. High five coach!
A kid who played tight end with his former coach should work then !

Out/corner, swing, mesh. ITS EASY, STEALING!!!
Yes sir. You aren’t lying.
What determines the out/corner?
Coach McKie it seems very expensive to give the R that much freedom.
Just tag the backside. It is 1-2-3 until the backside is a ball call so to speak.
Corner? Press, better athlete/player
Out?- off, and press, to the field, compressed set.
