I've watched a lot of your videos recently and you really have me psyched for VR. Your honest and thorough reviews of the hardware and currently available software have helped me set reasonable expectations without losing the magic. Many thanks to you and your family.
Totally agree with your statement to "play games you do not think you will enjoy" as loaded up Luckys Tale on my Dk2 today whilst I wait patiently for my Vive to turn up, and was shocked how much fun it was to play a 3d platform game in VR as I have never like this game style normally. Keep up the good work of these videos as its great to get an idea what to install Day1 of the Vive finally getting into my possession.
Vermeulen said this regarding the Maximum Override VR game: steamcommunity.com/app/389220/discussions/1/405692224243644390/ And Hover Junkers has single player planned: steamcommunity.com/app/380220/discussions/0/490124466460796709/#c490124466461486786
Couldn't agree more about space pirate trainer, every time I saw someone playing it, even you, I thought nah not for me. Once I tried it, it has me hooked, I can't wait to get back in there! Lol
Vanishing Realms: Rite of Steel, sounds absolutely amazing (first person sword fighting dungeon rogue like where you do the fighting with the motion controls). Only a few people have seen/played it so far but they have been blown away by it.
Is there any way that you could get your hands on an early access version of Waltz of the Wizards. Saw Tested play it and I feel like you may do a better job representing it..
The vive has an amazing ability to take you into the world. Your mind just accepts it. You step around things that arent there. You want to set the controllers down for a second, you will consider if only briefly, setting them on a table you can see, you probably walked around, but doesnt really exist
Thanks for all your reviews Can't wait till next week, already bought Hover Junkers and Haverbrook ex, just need all the others to be released and Raw Data
Hi tribal, the devs from hover junkers are already making new weapons for the game so updates with new content may be their way of keeping the interest in the game. They are adding an uzi, a scoped bolt rifle similar to a sniper rifle, and a laser guided rocket launcher. I sooo want to check that rifle, i always loved sniper rifles!
That basket. xD I'm going to do the Job Simulator first because I've been waiting on it for so long and the fact that it's bundled makes it the obvious choice. After that, I'll likely go with Hover Junkers/Windlands/Space Pirate Trainer. All three of those games didn't look interesting to me until I saw youtuber's reactions. I'm pretty excited.
In the 30 days video, I asked how your cat was dealing with Vive - Sorry it's a Dog (and a very nice one) I can see that in this vid. Keep the videos coming. Helping me deal with the wait.
+Mucker 2002 haha she's very cat like, no worries. She's managing fine. Far fewerror issues now than the first few days. She is learning to give us space when the headset is on
+TribalInstincts Only thing holding me back from the Vive is that they don't seem to have any 'real' games, most are just tech demo's, do you know when / if / how this will change? Any news of triple A title for vive?
I just tested The Brookhaven Experiment Demo with a DK2, in the meantime, and it actually loads up with it. But, I couldn't shoot to start, ha. Maybe an xbox controller would work.
I have a small apartment and space is an issue. How much space is needed for the full experience. I'm worried I just spend about a thousand bucks on something I can't fully enjoy.
Soo after watching hounders of videos and reviews and information topics on Oculus and HTC Vive i still can't figur out what i should go for. But how was it flying in DCS world with HTC Vive? was it immersive? Should i go for HTC Vive or Oculus? SDE is very important to me as i play allot of flight simulators but i also want a VR experience were i can walk around the room and shoot stuff like you did. Soo what should i go for? i can afford the Oculus or the HTC
Hi Tribal. Did you get theblu: encounter demo with the Vive-pre? Just wondering if I'll get it with the consumer version. It's great start to show family and friends. Does anyone know?
+Mucker 2002 I have it, however I don't know for sure if it comes with the consumer version. The dev kits came loaded up with a bunch of those demos. I would be very surprised if it wasn't made available to you though.
Hello . thnx for your opinions on this games. just quick question I bought the Nightblade X2-005UK Mini Gaming PC with gtx 980ti i7k 16gb ram . would this be good for the vive ? or I should of waited for pascal? Cheers :)
+89HerbieS From what I've seen and heard on RUclips, you could definitely use it for that. There are also multiple difficulty settings, so you can speed it up if it's too easy for you.
Hey, I have a really important question, I really hope you answer soon. Would vive still work in a 10x10 room, instead of the suggested 15x15? I know it might not be as good, but would it work?
I'm super curious if you'd recommend the Vive to someone who has a smaller play space. Is it as enjoyable in say an 8x8 foot play space? 6x6? Have you tried this or would you be willing to test that out and give us your honest opinion on the experience? Thanks, keep up the great videos!
Thanks for doing this, reviews will be important to guide people to good VR experiences :) Here comes a quite technical question about... your headphones! I recently bought the Sennheiser RS-165 RF headphones because they seemed like a good fit for the Vive. After a week I drew the conclusion they had latency, I measured it to be 50ms which doesn't sound like much but it was enough for me to notice it when watching people speak. Have you been able to measure the latency of your headset? And if it has latency, have you at all noticed it? Or am I now ruining your impression of them now :x An easy test I did was to pull up the volume of speakers in the background, if there is latency, even as low as 50ms, I will hear an echo. This does not happen with speakers and wired headphones for me, which has made me consider returning these :/
+Andreas Aronsson I am VERY sensitive to audio latency and I can't discern any with this headset. It was actually the first thing I tested when I got it before even loading up a game with both your method and a handy youtube video that gives several visual beat indicators along am audible one.
+TribalInstincts thanks, I might be returning these and look for something else, perhaps the TB ones you got :P Will definitely be looking up latency info online... kind of distraught that a quality brand like Sennheiser would have this kind of latency in their system :/ I guess I learn yet again to research more! :P
Andreas Aronsson Yea.. its kinda tough. Most high end headphones don't really have to care about latency since it really doesn't matter when listening to music or even watching a movie(to some extent) however in gaming, hearing that gun shot go off right when you pull the trigger is very important and VERY annoying when it is not right.
Do I know which games I'm gonna try? Yeah I do since I watch your videos :) BUT since Virtual Desktop will be avaible, one of the first things I'm gonna try is a movie on big screen :)
Hey man what's your opinion on Raw Data? I live in Aus so won't be getting vive until at least mid May or early June. Even then its soooooooo expensive, as its almost $900 dollars here, and computers of that calibre are also at least 900$. Will be watching your vids to bridge the gap :) Also have you found any other youtubers that do VR content for the vive? Thanks, keep it up!
+TechnoBolt I haven't had a chance to try raw data yet but it looks like a lot of fun! I'll do a review as soon as I get my hands on it. And man, since doing these I haven't had time for much of anything so I can't say I have looked for others, I have seen a few pop up on reddit though.
+GeigerMass Windlands is a horrible vr experience, sorry to say. It may look cool but the movement system is just not made for VR and many get sick from playing it
+Iwekzy I think these games should still be made (: Quake on the GearVR and DK2 is absolutely amazing for me - perhaps the best experience out there. So... I would hate for that not to be made.
+L Lewis to be honest, even though I spent a good deal of money on a HOTAS specifically for it and it IS fun, it just doesn't compare for ME. This is in no way a prediction for what I think everyone else will enjoy, this is just my personal opinion :)
+Nathan Rowe I honestly think yours will make plenty of peoples top 5 list, right along side games like TiltBrush and ModBox. I am just more into action/rpgs for my mainstays.
the sculptvr game? it looks amazing but isnt more a creative sandbox like tilt brush than an actual game? maybe in a different category like tiltbrush, or universe sandbox 2.
+Inyobase You're not far off. At launch it'll mostly be a creative sandbox. But multiplayer and coming game modes will make it something more. (And I hope people like it!)
Nice! Can you do a top 5 worst Vive games? I'm not talking about games that are in development and will get better later. I mean games that have Vive support, that are BAD with the Vive, games that we should avoid.
+GrandNoodleLite I thought about adding it to the end of this video, but decided it didn't really fit. On top of that, I won't ever give a negative review of a game before it has released. If a game is buggy or it has other issues, I give that feedback directly to the developer and give them a chance at fixing it. Once they start taking money for it though... All bets are off lol. The only game right now that I would say to avoid completely is Mind: Path to Thalmus. HORRIBLE VR "support". Low FPS, controllers are ridiculous, just nothing about it shows they gave VR any more thought than dropping in the SDK.
+WihGlah hmmm, you may have a point in the long run however since no games have launched yet I don't think this is misleading at all. Once the full games fully launch, I will stop reviewing demos and instead exclusively review the full games. When I show a demo, it will be called out as such accordingly.
+TribalInstincts What I meant was (and you are not alone here, most of the reviewers are saying the same thing) is that the standing experience is utterly awesome. It might be - but if all the games involved are in fact one level or technical demos, then decent gameplay will be complete within a few weeks of getting the unit. I am pretty sure serious gamers are not going to put 200 hours into job simulator for example. It's contributing to the hype and less serious gamers are inferring that there is a lot of content for room scale VR when in fact there isn't. 30 half hour demos barely add up to one AAA game.
WihGlah I get it. The only one on this list that I think qualifies for what you describe is the MaximumVR and I actually call it out as more of a casual, pick up every now and again type game. Even if it never becomes more than what it is right now, I would still recommend it to people. I would not say the same for Job Simulator. Is it a neat demo? Yup. Will I likely ever load the demo I have again apart from showing someone? Nope lol. Brookhaven is the only other title on this list that I haven't experienced the full thing on(Space pirate trainer also has some improvements from what I have played but the core gameplay is already established) however I am *very* confident in it turning into something a whole lot more. But you're right on that one too that I don't know for sure. AudioShield, Space Pirate Trainer, and Hover Junkers on the other hand are full experiences as they are, and are very solid for a hardcore gamer. I count myself as one so I totally get what you are saying however I think you will be surprised after trying some of these. These simple looking games will provide you with so many more hours of entertainment than any flat screen version of the same game could possibly provide. Anyway... Time will tell, and like I said, I won't have to review demos after next week :) I'll be posting a video later this week on my plans for this channel that will actually go over this specifically. Would be interested in your feedback on that when I have it up
Being silly... But I do get uncomfortable for just a moment, multiple times during the video, when he looks directly into the lens and it seems like he's staring into your soul which is not the case with almost any other RUclipsr
loving the new place for the laundry basket :-) another great informative video by the way
+Peter Parnell It'll be duck-taped to the ceiling in the next video.
+Dennis Richards haha dammit! Was actually laughing with my wife about doing this!!
+TribalInstincts Haha I wish I could resubscribe only because of this comment :) Have to love that humour.
I've watched a lot of your videos recently and you really have me psyched for VR. Your honest and thorough reviews of the hardware and currently available software have helped me set reasonable expectations without losing the magic. Many thanks to you and your family.
Great video man! Been looking for games to play when mine comes :)
1. Raw Data
2. Hover junkers
3. Budget cuts
4. Spell Fighter
5. The Brookhaven Experiment
6. Windlands
7. Waltz of the Wizard
Software : Virtual desktop 1.0
Totally agree with your statement to "play games you do not think you will enjoy" as loaded up Luckys Tale on my Dk2 today whilst I wait patiently for my Vive to turn up, and was shocked how much fun it was to play a 3d platform game in VR as I have never like this game style normally.

I love your channel it's what I always hoped for in a virtual reality RUclips channel
Thanks for the recommendations! Pirate Trainer and Audio Shield seem like they will be my favs when my Vive comes next month.
As always, great video. Thanks for helping us to wait until the 5th ahah =D
Great vid Tribal, really hope to see more Audioshield!
really enjoy your vids, can tell you really love VR, keep up the excellent vids!
Great vid as always. Hope you keep this up after release. Cheers!
Amazing list. I'm most pumped for audio shield and budget cuts
Thank you for including the listings in the video description. Too many countdown videos fail to do this.
Vermeulen said this regarding the Maximum Override VR game:

And Hover Junkers has single player planned:
steamcommunity.com/app/380220/discussions/0/490124466460796709/#c490124466461486786
+spec24 I wish the demo was free as I have no interest in the monitor version :/
+Hannibal Barkas yeah, same here.
Couldn't agree more about space pirate trainer, every time I saw someone playing it, even you, I thought nah not for me. Once I tried it, it has me hooked, I can't wait to get back in there! Lol

I'd love Node to do an open world Hover Junkers game in the same vain as Borderlands maybe with more emphasis on travel and exploration . . .
+Dennis Richards There's gonna be a single player mode later, not a lot of info how that's going to be
Is there any way that you could get your hands on an early access version of Waltz of the Wizards. Saw Tested play it and I feel like you may do a better job representing it..
Great video, and I am happy to see that the laundry basket is finally empty at least!
The vive has an amazing ability to take you into the world. Your mind just accepts it. You step around things that arent there. Thanks for all your reviews Can't wait till next week, already bought Hover Junkers and Haverbrook ex, just need all the others to be released and Raw Data
Got hover junkies on indegogo website (not sure if you still can ,$25) and you can get haverbrook on steam, it's on sale for about £11 :-)
Hi tribal, the devs from hover junkers are already making new weapons for the game so updates with new content may be their way of keeping the interest in the game. They are adding an uzi, a scoped bolt rifle similar to a sniper rifle, and a laser guided rocket launcher. I sooo want to check that rifle, i always loved sniper rifles!
+frylander can't wait for those! Still #1 on my list even if they never happen though :P
+frylander Whoops, no me esperaba encontrar a un señor como usted por aquí.
+frylander also, they are thinking about adding ranked games.
+TribalInstincts Did you pre-order the game from Indiegogo? If so, is your name on the monument?
That basket. xD I'm going to do the Job Simulator first because I've been waiting on it for so long and the fact that it's bundled makes it the obvious choice. After that, I'll likely go with Hover Junkers/Windlands/Space Pirate Trainer. All three of those games didn't look interesting to me until I saw youtuber's reactions. I'm pretty excited.
hi tribal
space pirate trainer is updated
can you play it and tell us whats different?
In the 30 days video, I asked how your cat was dealing with Vive - Sorry it's a Dog (and a very nice one) I can see that in this vid. Keep the videos coming. Helping me deal with the wait.
+Mucker 2002 haha she's very cat like, no worries. She's managing fine. Far fewerror issues now than the first few days. She is learning to give us space when the headset is on

top guy love these videos :-)
I would buy all of these games right now if I could. Unfortunately, I can only buy two. It's going to be an expensive month :) Can't wait!
how would you describe the graphics with headset on?
are they on about the same level as the original Wii?
Can we downlad this games free like a normal pc game?? I dont remember the last time i bought software.
why would you put yourself in fullscreen and the gameplay minimized? I dont wanna look at you :(
I have a small apartment and space is an issue. How much space is needed for the full experience. I'm worried I just spend about a thousand bucks on something I can't fully enjoy.
+Mesogreat The room i play in is about 2 meters by 3 meters and that is more than enough for me
+JereTechTips thanks for your response. I'm starting to feel a little bit better about the space I'm giving myself now. Now if only it would ship!!
I know it took 3 months for mine to arrive!
+JereTechTips it's my bad. I waited to long to order.
thanks for the recomended games to get I cannot wait to get my vive I will hopefully be able to upload videos.
Soo after watching hounders of videos and reviews and information topics on Oculus and HTC Vive i still can't figur out what i should go for. But how was it flying in DCS world with HTC Vive? was it immersive?

What about games that weren't meant for VR have you tried anything like Outlast etc ?
+indianaP wnz
Not possible yet on Vive. Very soon, but not yet.
Thanks for the video. Personally, I really like Out of Ammo, though it still has a ways to go with development. Still, good VR fun.
another decent video in another decent plaid shirt. Can't wait till my vive arrives, thanks for the entertainment in the meantime.
Hi Tribal. Did you get theblu: encounter demo with the Vive-pre? Just wondering if I'll get it with the consumer version. It's great start to show family and friends. Does anyone know?

+TribalInstincts Thank for replying so quick. Vive looks so cool. 1 week!!
Thanks for the video I'm trying to decide between this and the rift.
i want a vive so bad but idk if my pc can run it i have i5-4430 3.00ghz 16 gigs of ram and SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 270X 2 gig do i need to upgrade or no?
Minimum recommended is a GTX 970 or a R9 290.
Hello . thnx for your opinions on this games. just quick question I bought the Nightblade X2-005UK Mini Gaming PC with gtx 980ti i7k 16gb ram . would this be good for the vive ? or I should of waited for pascal? Cheers :)
Nice list. I'm really enjoying your vids. Have you tried Waltz of the Wizard yet?
how did you get the vive ?
Soon Vive players will be strong and fit XD. My best games so far are Space pirates, job simulator, the gallery and ofc hoover junkers.
Great video guy!
So now you're doing laundry for Santa Claus as well? =) Guess you'll have to wait a while for him, though.
Surprised that Elite Dangerous didn't make it on the list? Not your type of game? Or excluded because it is not an exclusive?
+Epyx911 I like Elite Dangerous. I even bought a nice HOTAS specifically for it. It just... doesn't really excite me like these do.
Fair enough! thanks :)
Can you use audioshield as a light workout? Or is it to slow?
+89HerbieS From what I've seen and heard on RUclips, you could definitely use it for that. There are also multiple difficulty settings, so you can speed it up if it's too easy for you.
GrandNoodleLite Good to hear, thank you :)
Would love to hear his thoughts on Portal Stories: VR, Cloudlands : VR Minigolf and The Gallery - Episode 1!!
+Dennis Martin Herbers Next week :)
+TribalInstincts awesome!!
No Elite Dangerous?
Hey, I have a really important question, I really hope you answer soon. Would vive still work in a 10x10 room, instead of the suggested 15x15? I know it might not be as good, but would it work?
+Spooder Man My setup is 10x11 and works great :)
THANKS!!
Totally dont play FPS anymore, so tired of the genre, would these be able to being me back to the genre?
Well done with the laundry basket. :)
+Jean-Denis Haas *deep bow* ;}
Fully expect a review of the dog soon.
Audioshield is real fun. cant stop playing. and it super cadio training.
Each one of these games looks like a techdemo. Is this "the future"?
did u play Waltz of the Wizard?
+RaphaRox sadly no. And that one's going to be free soooo.... highly recommended :)
no videos yet of this game, the trailer is awesome. And thank you for the videos :D really enjoy watching
How can I trust a guy that puts laundry baskets in his fireplace?
How can you not?
I'm super curious if you'd recommend the Vive to someone who has a smaller play space. Is it as enjoyable in say an 8x8 foot play space? 6x6? Have you tried this or would you be willing to test that out and give us your honest opinion on the experience? Thanks, keep up the great videos!
+Rob Anderson I actually have that written down as something to try! I want to run through a few of my favorite titles with a small play space.
Sweet! Look forward to hearing about your experience once you get around to it.
Completely agree on windlands.
Is that a laundry basket in your fireplace?
The laundry basket has made its way into the Fireplace!
Thanks for doing this, reviews will be important to guide people to good VR experiences :)
Here comes a quite technical question about... your headphones! I recently bought the Sennheiser RS-165 RF headphones because they seemed like a good fit for the Vive. Nice vid earned a sub
everybody , did you notice the laundry basket LOL!!
1. Vanishing Realms
2. The Gallery
3. Budget cuts
4. Space Pirate Trainer
5. Windlands

+Iwekzy I never had a problem with motion sickness with that game, it's actually really fun, especially in VR
the basket in the fireplace XD love it..... it was on purpose right
+pumpuppthevolume lol yup, sort of an inside joke from the comments in the past few videos.
+TribalInstincts yeah I know I'm a regular viewer ; )
We have the same headset.
I have to wait till may ;(
Thanks.
I was hoping to see Elite dangerous on the list.
+L Lewis to be honest, even though I spent a good deal of money on a HOTAS specifically for it and it IS fun, it just doesn't compare for ME. This is in no way a prediction for what I think everyone else will enjoy, this is just my personal opinion :)
A very good opinion it is too :)
while you didn't pick my game, I agree with most of your choices :-)

just got vive week ago and this shiet is ridiculous
Something strange about this video kind of hypothesizing
+DimmerWorld hypothesizing? What do you mean?
+TribalInstincts the intro is so I dunno well executed
Do you mean Hypnotizing? If so... ^_^ if not.. eh? lol
+TribalInstincts yeah probably autocorrect is strange on my phone
Elite: Dangerous anyone?
+RadActiveLobster , absolutely; would be no.1 on *my* list
AudioShield looks f*cking amzing and I really wanna play it! (I'm a casual osu! player)
_who wants to buy me a vive? =P_
+Thunder Draws osu! is also going to be awesome on a big virtual screen in the Vive - 90fps with low persistence!
hmm yeah, true!
buy me a vive maybe so that I can try that out? =P hehe
I bought a pair of your headphones lol
Great video.....sorry to add this but if you close your eyes...Kermit the frog....sometimes......sorry......just saying.
Try out REC room !!
Resident Evil for VR. Like this comment if you want to see a huge spider crawl at you in the virtual world.
Please stop referring to Demos as Games - it's misleading.

Would be interested in your feedback on that when I have it up
+TribalInstincts will do, and thx.
Quit undressing me with your eyes!
+Daniel Fries lol, what?
Being silly... But I do get uncomfortable for just a moment, multiple times during the video, when he looks directly into the lens and it seems like he's staring into your soul which is not the case with almost any other RUclipsr
+Daniel Fries not quite sure how to respond to this haha
Can you not walk around in any of these games? If no then man this thing is just overpriced...
