Heavy in Super Smash moveset (Preview 1)

- A preview of an animation I've been working on showcasing a moveset for the Heavy in Smash. It focuses around using the rest of the team to attack, following Sakurai's philosophy of representing the game more than the singular character.
Not going to lie I wasn't expecting the other Mercenaries

Holly shit, this move set is just like i was thinking of how to do the move set from heavy, also your animation is so clean
His Final Smash would be him pulling out his Minigun and firing it forward, and then he would shoot one giant bullet either forward, behind him, or above him. (directional input for the big bullet)
I feel like if we want to follow the theme of the rest of the team being behind heavy, his Final Smash should involve the whole team being ubered and pushing the payload cart into the enemy.
Your idea with the other mercs is really good!

I've never seen this version of "Heavy in Smash Moveset", and I gotta say the other mercenaries stepping from behind Heavy is super clever and makes me want him in even more

My thought process on the moves:
*Jab:* Without too much complication, the basic three-jab combo will be Heavy’s signature one-two punch followed by the critical hit animation. Iconic, fast and a perfect fit.
*Forward Tilt:* FTilt is supposed to be a long range tool, so a sword slash with the Demoman fits alright as well as showcasing a somewhat difficult mercenary to include.
*Down Tilt:* In Smash, Down Tilts tend to be whatever, so I used the chance to give him an edguard tool with a long-lasting hitbox as well as providing the Medic with some representation of his more “aggressive” side.
*Up Tilt:* With the idea of Heavy being an anti-air character, I feel like forgoing his ability to attack upwards in exchang for Pyro making a wall of fire fits perfectly.
This is probably the most original Heavy moveset I've seen.

Have you put thought into what the special moves would be? How Heavy would work in the air?
One of his aerials should absolutely be a Market Gardener.
What about projectile moves? Do you think Demo could have been showcased there, or do most Smash characters not have that?
this moveset actually makes sense, in the real game everyone would be behind the heavy
You know what? My only problem with tf2 in smash was if you only got one character in you would be representing less than a ninth of the series. The other mercenaries stepping in from behind is genius, i hope you're still working on this, as your last upload (along with this) was 3 months ago, and there was a 3 year gap between this and previous uploads.

His Classic mode route should either be called "Meet The Team" or "Mann Vs. Machine".
Metal Characters that represent the other 8 characters would work very well for Mann Vs. Machine
And his Classic Route would be Stamina battles (with him having 300HP and whoever he fights has the same amount of HP as the other mercenaries)

Idea for meet the team:
Captain falcon with bat to represent scout
Giant fox with steel diver to represent soldier
Ken with a steel diver to represent pyro
Link to represent demo
Olimar with a giant rob to represent engineer
Falco to represent sniper but you are assisted by a dr Mario to represent Medic
Snake to represent spy
Final boss is either galleom as a mvm reference or rathalos as a reference to the bread monster from expiration date
During the boss fight your assisted by Scout,Pyro,Medic,Engineer, And Spy.

My three ideas
Heavy eats a Sandvich and says "Moist and delicious"
Heavy gives Medic a high-five then says "We make good team!"
All the mercs stand in their pose on the Meet the Team artwork, with the camera zooming out from Heavy as it does in the end of Meet the Heavy

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! I never thought about representing everyone in the heavy move set
They are team fortress so it makes sense that they are working at a team
Ohhh, this is smart. Putting the emphasis on teamwork.
I can see special being a swap to Sascha, with melee then being replaced with firing, but I have a fun idea for side special;
Tapping Side Special sends another HWG out sprinting in the direction you're facing; if you're in the air they jump first, even if you've spent your double jump. After a short time, or on using any attack, the clone changes in a puff of smoke into Spy, and instantly attempts a stab before cloaking and despawning. Obviously, this deals smash attack like damage from behind.
However, if you hold special instead of tapping, then on release, or after a short time, the 'original' HWG is revealed to be the Spy, and you continue playing as the one who was sprinting. The Spy still attempts an attack before vanishing, and you can manuever them around with the joystick while special is held to get them into a good position.
This can be used for recovery or disengaging, for fake-outs or to try and land a crit-hit.
Actually, having thought about it, this could be the Up Special, since it provides vertical recovery as well as horizontal, although I'd have the Held version be the one where you keep control of the original heavy in that case.
Unfortunately, I won't be using this idea because, even though it's not animated, the moveset itself is already finished.
However, great minds think alike...
Okay.. the whole team being a part of every attack is the difference between "it works, ship it" game design, and "INSPIRING" game design.

This one is much better than the other one of Heavy move set, man the animations are better by far
Just imagine he can do all these attacks with the other mercs whilst also throwing out his own moves (heavy's jab, his minigun attacks, etc)

Forward Tilt has a sword, this is almost guaranteed to be real

Usually when I saw someone make TF2 smash movesets they focus on the solo merc. So this is amazing so far!

Sadly I don’t think it’s a good idea to have the others in since they all have enough uniqueness for their own attacks, but I do think they could appear in the final smash
Well, realisically we can't expect more than one merc to be in Smash, so if Sakurai was to actually add one of them, I feel like he would try to represent the whole game, not just the Heavy. Here is where this idea comes from.

This is actually kinda what I imagined if Kiran from Fire Emblem Heroes got into Smash, since his whole quirk is that he can summon warriors from all across time. So I kinda imagined that for his attacks, instead of fighting by himself, he’d summon heroes for his attacks.

Oh....I love the other mercenary idea but oh god the up and down tilts are so....bad. Down tilts are supposed to cover some more lower ground then a down smash can. Up tilts are supposed to go directly above the fighter as a defensive or juggling option. Just take that into consideration. Otherwise this looks amazing!

Idk, i think having the other mercenaries for most of the move isn't the right play,, maybe reserve them for specials and final smash.

Hmm, I like incorparting the other mercs into certain attacks. It makes them not feel left out and opens up more potential ideas for attacks

His Final smash is just a barrage of attacks from the Team, next with an Ubered Heavy spraying then down, finishing with scout sliding from behind with a meaty bat hit. Hearing him yell "Bonk!" With major diagonal knockback.

I think the "the other merch behind him" Thing looks cool, but it doesn't fit right for me. Heavy is a very competent fighter, he's able to take down a Siberian bear and go Mano y Mano with the TFC Heavy. Visually it's appealing, but it's just not my can of soda
The teammates attacking with Heavy fits the theme, but make sure the characters spawn in as soon as possiblefor clarity. For example, F-Tilt seems to be about a frame 10 move, but Demoman spawns at frame 8 while Heavy's startup animation isn't very clear, it could be mistaken for crouching. Up tilt is visually a far better move.
His final smash should be the whole team pushing the kart to the end and blowing up everyone
When Heavy spawns in, I'd like to hear him say:
"Thanks for ride!" or "T'was good trip!"
this could probably be made in Project M with how moddable Brawl is these days
I like to imagine the rest of the mercenaries doing the kazotsky kick or conga on their represented stage, which is 2 fort or dustbowl. Same taunts for all of Heavy's victory animations.
My brain thinks there's too many frames and it moves too slow, but on the other hand it looks alright.

This is exactly the kind of moveset I designed for a TF2 merc but I went with Medic because I like the idea of the mercs popping in for heals and helping for a second then leaving medic again
