Just added this to my want-to-read list. I see people wondering why the news doesn't cover stuff like this more. I think the answer to that question can be found in this conversation in multiple places.
THANK YOU the best for me was Jane explaining just why, in her opinion, her nook was written to explain IE..the how to move public opinion--> thru the elites
One of the best things about Physics and Sciencing is that once you get an idea about what, how and why the application of Principle, in the Associated Perspective, is a fullest approach to The Measurement Problem in continuous cause-effect connection, the perception-paradox dualism of Superficiality is at least, diminished. Money is only an issue in elections because it buys advertising. Advertising is only an issue because we voters don't have a tool to organize and manage our vote. We don't get our ballot until its too late. I plan on changing that and would be happy to demo how any time.
LEGALIZING MEDIA LYING BY ABOLISHING THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE. THE SINGLE MOST POWERFUL ACTION THAT CHANGED BROADCAST NEWS WAS THE ABOLITION OF THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE. When it comes to influencing public opinion, broadcasting has been the single most powerful force in American society since the turn of the 20th century, but especially since 1987. Why 1987? Because that's the year American society lost accountability for one-sided opinions spread over the airwaves. More specifically, August 1987 is when American broadcasting lost The Fairness Doctrine, an FCC regulation that required owners of broadcast licenses to present both sides of controversial issues considered to be in the public interest. www.huffpost.com/topic/the-fairness-doctrine If We Want Real Truth In Media Bring Back The Fairness Doctrine. The fairness Doctrine was a good idea in spirit but the two parties were not any less powerful in the 70s or 80s or 90s. It's not as if we had a bunch of Independents and third parties candidates in Congress during the ACT then lost them all when the ACT was abolished. Seems like the Fairness Act functioned more like "separate but equal" and we all know how that turned out.
Both parties are bought and paid for. And the parties control all of our election processes. From who's on the ballot, who's allowed to vote in primaries, who defines our districts, who is/isn't allowed to audit the vote, etc. Even once elected, "party purity" - tow the 1 set of party lines - constrain the narrative.
You know, the Wing Maker's have the right idea! Instead of people running our government, why not have computers instead of live people? You see, computers don't have agendas, people have agendas. Agendas, change.
I read your book and enjoyed it very much. I learned a great deal and your book should be mandatory reading for the public!

I will get this book. Sheldon Whitehouse has helped me by exposing the web of money groups behind everything including the Supreme Court.

Have always appreciated Jane's work and her lines of inquiry, and it seems she's a charmer as well.
Dark Money and Shock Doctrine are two of the most insightful books I have ever read.
