  • This is a video for those who want to use their original xTool D1 machines and upgrade them to the 40W diode kit from xTool. This is also for those who purchased the original d1, then bought a D1 Pro, then upgraded their Pro's to the 40W kit to be able to take the parts left over from the upgrade to make their original D1 machines a Pro version.

    As always, thank you for making such wonderful things.
    I was one of the first to use your air assist for the orginal d1. And once the link is fixed, I'd be happy to convert my d1 to a d1 pro 10w with my parts from upgrading the my d1 pro 10w to 40w. My old frame can come out of Retirement.

      Hey thanks Chad! I was checking out your video on using oxygen and it was very interesting. Not that I have any experience with that I wonder if not only more psi but a smaller nozzle tip hole might make that more intense. I would love to see how that finally shakes out.

      It’s coming! I have finished the build but now I just need to find time to put the video together between a few others I have in the works. Basically I use the D1 to build and enclosure to house the left over laser. I went a little overboard with the customization so I’m not sure exactly how many people will do what I did but I feel like it was worth it. You can get a little sneak peak here but again it might be a few weeks before I can release a video on it. drive.google.com/file/d/1AX3Hx4pi8oILD-JjE-CeBucmKYMHMITN/view?usp=drivesdk

    I would like to see a construction project making a small dedicated tumbler/glass etching machine utilizing the RA2 chuck rotary. Maybe converting a old single cantilever arm machine, like my Ortur, would be ideal.

    Yo amazing, you got a subscriber for this one. I was just thinking about doing something similar but with a 20w module. How did you find out what type that little wire was???

      I was able to figure it out with the internet and a digital caliper to measure everything. It wasn't too easy ;)

    Hey Ryan where did you get the metal tap for the limit switch? Does it comes with the 40 watts upgrade? The original D1 doesn’t have one and I did not see the metal tap been part of the upgrade kit!

      Hello. The metal tab comes with the 40W upgrade kit from Xtool.

    Do you know if it is possible to convert a D1 10W to a D1 Pro 20W with limit switches? Thank you for all your great videos and products!

      @BusterBeagle3D  9 месяцев назад

      Hello. Not without some extra parts. I know the the Geeks at Large website has their Devil1 that will convert the machine into a more capable unit with limit switches so that might be an option for you if you want to achieve this but there is no other real way of doing that now that I know of.

    So im dumb and thought i had the pro version. I bought the infrared module and only now am realizing the cable clips are all different between the two. Is there a way to get the IR working on my d1?

    I have the d1 pro 5 watt would i be able to change it to the 20w or 40 w without changing mother board?

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  9 месяцев назад

      Hello. I believe both of those require different motherboards and power supplies. The 40W for sure but I also believe you need it for the 20W.

    Where do I get the larger D1 Pro power supply? I didn’t think it came with the upgrade kit.

      My 40W did come with an updated power brick. I'm not sure this upgrade set ever exists anymore but that was how mine came.

    Does the 40w mother board need the SD from regular d1?

    • @BusterBeagle3D
      @BusterBeagle3D  6 месяцев назад +1

      Only if you want to work over Wifi I believe. You just need any micro SD car in there. It doesn't need to be the one from the other machine.
