The instructions say that when i enter all my information to hit the D-CLR button to finalize it. As long as you have empty channel banks, you can add as many channels is it allows. It’s been a long time so I can’t remember how many channels this unit allows for but I believe it’s 99.
help...i watched this video and i still can not program my frequencies for my county(police scanner),it is the exact one in the picture! not sure what i have done wrong,can you please do a vidoe on just police frequencies programming!?
Donna Pendleton your radio is likely unmodified. Meaning it will only operate within the amateur radio band. Only MARS/CAP modified radios can operate outside of that. Unless of coarse you are trying to program a frequency that the radio is not capable of. All radios are nut created equally.

FCC Regs in emergency involving the safety of human life, you may use any radio/frequency/channel - whether you are licensed or not to summon help. That could be Ham, Fire, Police, etc... And it better be a life or death emergency - it WILL be checked - and if it's not an emergency, you can expect a visit from the Feds who will seize the radio, and serve you with a federal court summons. You can be fined up to $10,000 !A fake Mayday - even on the CB will get you arrested ! The FCC doesn't have many, but they DO have Special Agents with badges and authority to make arrests, searches and seizures. If not one of them, the US Marshals or FBI. If you are wanting a two-way radio for use in an emergency, you can get a license for GMRS - General Mobile Radio Service, which is good for your entire family, even if they don't live with you. There's FRS - Family Radio Service, and MURS Multi Use Radio Service which are license free. The FCC recently approved the FM mode on the 26/27mhz band which will be useful.

You can look the model up on ebay and usually find the software and cable on there pretty cheap. I don’t know if they use the same software or not.

The only way to lock it is to press the function button and the key symbol, just press them again and it should unlock it.
