God bless this young lady she just taught me something new I was not aware of, we inherited a ranch my wife and I because her dad passed away and gave it to us and her sister so we are dividing up the land and I don’t know if we have any elderberry trees but I bet you what we are going to have some very soon I’m just praying to the good Lord above that they grow in North Texas like the Dallas Texas area that’s not where the ranch is it’s actually located near Sherman Texas which is about 60 miles north of Dallas . But I want to say thank you so much young lady for the information you have provided for us and God bless you and I pray to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to bring you and your family lots of love peace and prosperity for the following years to come thank you once again for all the time it took to educate your audience appreciate your videos and with lots of love from Dallas Texas thank you ✝️✝️✝️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I am so in love with this content. Right now I’m renting a house and don’t have a lot of space but I know where an elderberry tree is around me and I totally think I could attempt this and plant them in grow bags/give to to people with houses.

Great idea….I got some starts last fall and put them in grow bags inside my greenhouse then pulled them out two weeks ago and they’re starting to bud……I’ve used kitty litter buckets after washing them well to start trees and just put some drainage holes two inches up from the bottom for a water reservoir.

Loved this video, I have started a bush, but it's slow growing where I live. I'll be making cuttings though when I can. Grape can also be propagated this way. I really enjoy elderflower tea. I'll have to do some in honey.

Awesome video, thank you for sharing this! Elderberry is one of my “go to” medicinals for cold and flu season, I make elderberry syrup with raw honey and it works great. To be honest, I make most of my medicinals with raw honey, or I extract with mead. I don’t know if elderberry grows where I live, but I’m going to do some research and find out! God bless. ❤️

I love that your growing Elderberry's 🐝🐝🐝 I grow them too, but I'm always up for trying new ways of growing them. If I could I'd line them around my whole yard. For now I've got a half of a fence line. They provide the best shade on a hot day too, very whimsical to lay under. If your in the mountains be prepared they can be more of a tree then a bush, but I love that about them 💜💜💜

Good on you for teaching this. As you indicated the green leaves already sprouting isn’t ideal, but may work anyway. The commercial growers make their cuttings in January. Check out River Hills Harvest to see some commercial grows of elderberry in Missouri.

Can you point me to David Hoffman making the slave from the bark and leaves? I picked and dehydrated the leaves last year to make a healing salve..I will always have my elderberry bushes have many on my property as well as many I can forage from. I make 99% of the time tinctures..I plan on sending some dehydrated berries to my dil for my grandsons to make elderberry gummies..

  • @jvin248

You should be ok with the cuttings you have. I've done this time of the year cuttings from grape vines (juice types, wild, and wine). I just cut, refrigerate in plastic bags until the ground is unfrozen) and directly plant close together like a palisade fort wall. I cut them with an angled bottom end and flat top upper end to know which end is 'up'. Then just spear them into the ground.

I have some seeds I got from out in Montana that I would like to send to you. How could I do that. It will take a couple years to produce berries. There is like 100 seeds per pack, but they will easily fit in a regular envelope.

Huckleberry is what they are. They use it for a lot of stuff out that way. My cat keeps destroying my plant's as soon as they are sprouted around 2 inches. He's a brat. But for what you and your mom do, I figured that I could send you a pack of seeds and try them in your region. I have way too many of them seeds anyway.
