hey thanks for watching, and it may be wishful thinking but the game is definitely missing quality of life improvements any changes would be welcome at this point
Dooood, i wish i would have seen this video before hand . Like dont get me wrong I love the board game but its just a prettier version than the free one on pc tbh
Just purchased this (£11) and I’m heart broken! I’ve just booted up my 360 and discovered I now only have access to the trial version, full version has disappeared!! I had such high hopes for this version, but feel a little let down. I LOVE Catan, but the Xbox Arcade version is the definitive version imo 😢
@TheWightMonk I spent countless nights on Xbox Live with the Arcade version of Catan, when I heard we were getting a new version I was excited- and I really gave this a shot but it's so disappointing.
All they had to do was copy the 2007 version and make it look nice....
i was so excited for this version but there is just so much more wrong then good with it.
1 thing i missed from your vid was the Holy chime when it was your turn! now theres....well...nothing at all! and it doesnt roll your dice automatically after a few seconds not responding..... i hope they fix this fast.... i need catan in my life :)

You were not too harsh, I was also so stoked for this game, but wound up being so dissapointed with this impementation, that I asked for a refund. cannot justify supporting this game, nice as the devs may be. So so glad you mentioned the vastly superior 2007 xbox 360 version, so many evenings in the aughts spent competeing against friends and randos, and laughing at all the spamable emotes. I hope the devs look back at that game and take notes and make changes, because like you say, visually, theres some promise here, hoever the uncanny valley avatar have got to go in favor of something else. gametag avatar or PFP would be fine.

yeah I don't blame you for asking for a refund, I was under the false impression that the game is in Early Access (like tons of games on steam release)- what they meant was "hey buy the game a week early and have access to it a week early". I don't know if they're actually gonna keep working on the game or if this barebones experience is what we will be left with. Yet everyone else keeps praising them for it?
Catan 2007 was a special game, I don't know how many hours I sunk into that, made friends 3x my age and would stay up to play with em till I had to go to school lol the problem we have with this iteration is we had the absolute best one come out 16 years ago & none have been able to capture the magic of it.

Yeah I agree with you, I was holding on for some huge overhaul after Early Access was done, but apparently it's out of early access now and the one patch didn't do much to change anything.
I personally like the game, my only gripes are possibly in game chat or a timer to speed things up.
hey more power to you, I'm glad you aren't in my boat after spending 20 bucks for a game I didn't like. Do you play more online or against bots?
@MF Kraven ah that is one thing I forgot to say, I've ran into a lot of people rage quitting once they do bad. Which is no fun at all. But i try and play with full players no bots
yeah or the type that will stall a game because you robbed them or things not going their way. that's why I gave some criticism to the devs. as opposed to their star ranking an mmr rating would be much better imo. plus penalizing players for quitting should be a thing. its a shame most other Catan games have either been delisted or their servers are down.
I bought it and I’m not loving it. I hate the zoom, I feel it kind of slow, I hate the start page… I’m not happy.
yeah I think a lot of us feel cheated out of a competent Catan experience. So moving the map around will make the map snap back to the original position and that alone made me dizzy af. Hate to see such an amazing franchise be treated so poorly

personally i play Catan on the switch if i want to scratch that itch (even though online play was recently discontinued)
It needs a timer. People are slowing the game down on purpose or straight out not playing when they don’t get there way or before they know they are going to lose… need a timer
1000%. I've only played a handful of matches but in one of em I had someone stall after getting robbed for about 20 mins for them to just leave and the AI that took over was absolutely dumb. (She traded away her clay, then asked for it right back). Ended up giving the match to the guy she traded with. I was so frustrated I was like man, I'm not playing this till the devs release the game out of Early Access.
