When these two first came on the show, it never occurred to me that they could be a couple. The fact that they discovered a combustible sexual chemistry as they were connecting through friendship made their coupling surprising and powerful. While April and Jackson are flawed in their own way, at their core they are very kind and caring people. From a storytelling point of view, it doesn't make sense to put these two through relationship dramas over this length of time (Since the end of Season 8) only to have them figure out that they don't belong together. The point of a story like this is for these two to deal with their personal crap and then figure out how to be together. This is just my opinion, and I could be wrong.
