Every year in mid May I delist EVERYTHING and take a full month (or more) off. Then when I come back, I inventory every item and while doing so decide to either list it (and modify the listing with updated comps, keywords etc), take it to a BST, send it to ThredUp or donate it to my local woman’s shelter. July and August are almost always my best months and I attribute that to the reassessment and relisting of my items

This really is a great idea. I just did that big inventory audit a few months ago but let me tell you I am about ready to thin this beast out again. I am coming to realize I just dont like having this much inventory on hand. It's overwhelming and I get confused/start to lose things, trying to do this as one person.

Hi Rachel, my other stores eBay household items and electronics, and Amazon ( similar items as eBay) are dead, so I took this opportunity to list like crazy ( clothing). Overall, they are performing better than my prior months, except in March which was great for me, but happy to report that my sales will pay the bills this month.

Thank you for addressing the niche track. Yesterday I sold jeans and a sweater. Have stuff for all 4 seasons.

June and July are great “purge” months so think selling stale inventory to Buy Sell Trade stores or have garage sales to make extra funds. I also enjoy garage sales for sourcing.

Honestly, I sell jeans almost every day all summer long as well. Right now I'm actually doing better with long pants than with shorts. Sold 2 pairs of jeans today and 2 pairs yesterday! Apparently everyone is going to country concerts because I sold 2 pairs of bell bottoms yesterday and both buyers wanted me to ship asap for their concerts. Also, plenty of people need jeans or long pants during the summer. I was in horseback riding almost every summer when I was younger so I wore jeans to the barn.
I don't have that many winter items left listed. I just donated a lot of wool coats because I live in an older house and moths are always coming in during the summer months. I'm tired of selling them and finding they have new holes then having to cancel. What I'm going to try with my remaining winter items is adding shipping to australia on ebay with pirateship simple export rate, since they are going into winter. I've shipped there using pirateship a few times and didn't have any issues. I also ship to canada sporadically so I need to add them back in too!

Just love your videos. Loving the strategy videos. One thing I am having trouble with and would like to see a video is how you make banners. Where you usually would list your item people have banners advertising sales or send an offer. I would like to do mystery boxes and dont know how to put a pic up. Would also like to saa a day in the life video. Keep up the good work. I am new and you have helped me a bunch. Thanks

Thank you so much!! I am by no means a banner making expert and I dont really use them in my closet for Poshmark so I am probably not the person to be making videos on that BUT I do use an app called Canva for my RUclips thumbnails and such. You could easily use one of their free templates and make a banner or post with whatever you wanted it to say. Many of the features in that app are free and there are plenty of templates you can use without paying. I hope that helps!

I always buy shorts in the winter at the thrift store in the winter and jeans and sweaters in the summer. Best selection because most people aren't looking for jeans in 90 degree weather.
When it's slow I just don't source as much and relist what I have and list what I have bought previous months (death piles).

Great month!! Congratulations. I’ve been selling tons of new shoes between $70-$100 this month. My top 3 sales for the month 1 YSL slides &100, 2 Aqua Berdita dress $100 and Everlane. 80’s Blazer $97! I have not really felt a slow down for June. Sales have been good!!

Great tips generally speaking! I love all the more behind the scene tip (taxes, reselling genie etc). I use slow days to list death pile or finally fix the easy stains or loose treads and get them ready for listing. For the brave souls, last July was my best selling month on live selling so I do think switching it up can help with the slump.

Hi Rachel, although I've been dabbling in reselling for a few years, this is my first year that I've committed to being a consistent reseller. I expected the slow down so I'm just continuing to source and list to build my inventory. This way when things pick up in a few months I will have more items for shoppers!
