    After spending a couple days in Tequila Mexico, the next stop was Guadalajara. We were blown away with how BIG this city was and how it reminded us of being in New York City when walking the streets, except for the rich culture and Spanish history. Around every corner was another church or breathtaking picture. We stayed at the Morales hotel which was 5 stars (just ask Caleb).

      Great city. Seemed safe to us. We walked around at night several times. I'm sure bad things happen, but we were smart about it. We did a video on tips to stay safe in Mexico.

    • @KeepYourDaydream

      We had water delivered to our RV. Food was no problem. We probably would have taken more pro-biotics prior to going down there. If you too many street taco when you first arrive... could create problem. Stomach needs some time to adjust. Overall, no problems. Everyone but me got a bit of stomach thing at least once.

      Bob Shaw you should come visit my city, Guadalajara is the safest city of all Mexico, the dangerous cities are like Mexico City, Tijuana, ciudad Juárez, etc. and also there's a bunch of Americans retiring here even in Puerto Vallarta(another city from the same state that's close to GDL)

    I always tell people why spend alot of money traveling to Paris or Europe, going to Mexico is like a mini trip to Eupore because of the architecture and culture. This is a great video and funny :) Your wife is great at speaking Spanish. Good job guys!

      Thanks Doreyde. We're much better at Spanish. We've been taking lessons twice per week since we left.

  • @DeusExMachino

    I also forgot to mention when traveling to Mexico I would suggest since you have a big family getting l house or apartment for rent through airbnb you can get a nice apartment or house in a nice area between $35 to$ 45 per night. Most this houses or apartments have furniture, internet, kitchen, fridge etc.. included with the money exc is really cheap and better than staying at a hotel. Mexico is a beatiful country my only complaint is the driving it just not for me in there.

    This was so much fun! OMG, that drone footage. Glad it didn't hit, but equally as glad to see such an awesome closeup. That's got to be the best "near miss" ever! Drones have brought us to a whole new level. Now I'm getting to see Mexico like I've never seen it before, unless someone had the really big bucks to do helicopter footage. Really loving the drone footage everywhere. It was cool to see an overview of the city.
    Last year when I was in San Juan de los Lagos, it would have been about an hour or less from Guadalajara. Now I wish when I got on that return bus to Monterrey that I would have taken a couple of days in Guadalajara before returning to Monterrey. Can't wait to go back. You guys are so funny. The whole family takes so well to the camera. Love the dresses. I bet Tory looked awesome. Oh, I really cracked up laughing over the menu in English. Some poor Spanish dude is proud that he did such a good job translating.... lol....eggs bathed in tummy ???? I can't stop laughing. Would that be an embryo? The hotel is beautiful. I want to stay there. Will you guys be retuning to Mexico in the future?
    Btw, I'm also watching another cute young couple in Mexico on YT - Kinetic Kennons - Greg & Hillary. They are a young couple from Dallas (my town) who decided to go live in Puerto Vallarta for a while. They're cute and also a lot of fun. Maybe you'll check them out. Good to see you guys again. Hasta luego, amigos ;-))

    • @KeepYourDaydream

      @@0HARE Hi Allen. Buenos dias. Hope you're doing well through this Covid thing. Shortly after Covid hit the world the Kennons ended their three year journey/living in Mexico and made a farewell video but they have lots of videos on file. They did an awesome job of travel videos through the three years and I think you'll enjoy them.

    Drone shots most appreciated as they establish a clear identification of location you are in and who doesn't like beautiful aerial shots of the wonderful architecture? Funny how in the past, to get those kinds of shots, you would spend thousands of dollars in chopper fees, steadicam rental rates, etc. But now, after the initial acquisition cost of a DJ Phantom, nada.

    We chromecasted this episode on our TV so my husband could watch easily at the same time. Let me tell you your videos look awesome on the flat screen. Man Guadalajara looks beautiful, definitely on the list. When you were in that main square it looked like you were in Europe! Oh man we have the DJC mavic drone and seeing yours so close to the steeple made me go "NOOOO don't hit"! Haha loved your joking around about the shopping, reminds me of my family. Loved the dress shopping! What a cool memory she will have dress shopping in Mexico. Great video! Loved it!

      That's awesome. Thanks for letting us know. You'd love the hotel and we forgot to mention the price. Just thought of that. Darn it. It was only $65 US or so. Great hotel with an exceptional location. Yeah, Spain was sure effective at "colonizing" or taking over cities :)

    • @TravelingKristin
      @TravelingKristin 7 лет назад

      Yes you are right about the colonization, but I guess I was still taken back with the neo-classical architecture styles. That is an incredible price for that hotel! In the US it would easily go for over $300 a night. You are making me want to go explore Mexico more with each video. :)

    Once again,,,,Amazing ! Editing has evolved into a class act. Aerials, fades, music,and comedy. Can't wait to sit and chat one day,,,,,that is if you have time. How do you fit it all in? My time management skills have always lacked in precision. You seem to have nailed it. Oh, believe me, I get it, I still have one teen left under the roof. Nice going keeping it real including the temp low blood sugar in the afternoon. Cracked me up. I really liked the music, too. Nice family. Well done.

    So, first I'm drooling over that amazing drone footage then I hear your story behind it...Dude! I hope you bought some lottery tickets that day because you just might have been one of the luckiest people on Earth to miss those buildings! Awesome video (as usual). thank you for sharing your journey! ☺

    • @KeepYourDaydream
      @KeepYourDaydream  7 лет назад

      Ha! Thanks. You're so right. Before I took off, I pulled the drone out... walked 20 feet in front of me and put it down. Then walked back to the park bench. I've *never* done that ever. I've always taken off with the drone about 5-10 feet away. Had I not, the drone would be gone! And I'd be in Mex prison still :)

    Tlaquepaque is a great neighborhood!! I've visited in Guadalajara three times. I am so great full for your wonderful photography. The drone going through the towers on the basilica was amazing! Did you try some of the taco venders in Tlaquepaque? Normally I follow the advice of a Spanish teacher in Cuernavaca, "Nunca, nunca, nunca come en las calles" (Never, never, never eat in the streets). But, it was delicious, and I didn't get sick. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your Mexican Vacation.

    What a fabulous place! The snack issue was too funny. That's how we usually eat when we are traveling. Early breakfast, take snacks (homemade gorp, fried fruits, water in the Camelbacks, etc) great super. Leaves more time for adventure. Thanks for sharing :)

      :) Yeah, if/when we ever travel Europe and not in the RV...we'll have to perfect the perfect travel diet. The only drawback to Mex is finding healthy food along the way.
