  • Heinnie Haynes | UKPK | TearDown | + A Closer Look At Spyderco’s SlipIt Mechanism
Here is the HH Edition UKPK, in teardown form !! Firstly how ingenious is that mechanism ! So simple yet it works an absoloute treat, i tip my hat to you Spyderco.
Again i do have to say this is just my methods of opening and years of fecking about with everything, as most people do they find their own ways of doing things. Aaaaaaand as long as it works and is safe then its all good ! Its not how you get into the mess its how you get out of it hahaha...
I was super intrested to see how the mech works on this knife and i am glad that now the mech in all its glory is in the big wide world ! As i couldnt find a picture or video of it basically anywhere, i hope i have not broken any rules whoooops.
That bar at the back is a bit of a bum to get back in with all those tubes and the blade, i will most definitely be using tape to hold those bad boys in when i do it next time. Simple hardware all the way through and simply works well ! what a great little knife, i love it lots as its so slicey too !!
Thanks for watching, and staying through this long ass video if you made it that far! It is honesty more appreciated than you think !
Stay Safe, Stay Happy, Stay Shaving Sharp !

Nice technique! I ended up getting the pins into the backspring then compressing the tuning fork with some pliers to get the blade back on. Seemed to work OK too.

Thanks ! Ahhh another great way round it 👌🏼🤘🏼! I’m ocd so would have to have taped up my pliers teeth and then done that for no scratches as I’m not that delicate with that tool 👀😂. Thanks for watching 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙌🏼!!

@@BladedArticles I actually uploaded a video of me doing this and yes - I DID put some tape on the pliers!!! You have got to avoid scratches on those hidden internal parts - LOL!

Curious as to know why there is a little hole drilled between the pivot and opening hole. Looks a bit like a detent ball hole.
Zipslip has a similar backspring set up. All good stuff. Happy Days.

I totally understand that ! To be honest though I feel the V1 clinches it with the materials and I like a bit of weight on my knives. There are more pros on the V1 compared to the UKPK in my opinion.
Our Vid for the V1 drops tomorrow (Tuesday the 2nd btw)
