EDC elephant Mine gets full of fish scales all the time and a garden hose brings it back to factory condition. Once or twice a year I’ll get some small scales caught in the pivot of my salt folders. I never disassemble, just loosen the pivot to create a little space and blow it out with a water.
Hey nick nut vids inspired me to get my first nicer knives like the g10 dragon fly the orange and satin lil native and the para 3 with the blue g10 so thank u for starting my edc collection ur a good guy stay safe and keep doing what your doing
Nice prevail! I suppose between the design and LC200N, Spyderco intended this to just be soaped, rinsed, and externally lubed. But if weren’t for your video, I would have had learned not to disassemble the hard way. Thanks my friend!
Nick, we've all bought a lot of knives on the secondary market with screws swimming in loctite. I beg of you, try teflon tape on larger pivots. For the good of the community.
Love my Siren, although my pivot screw somehow came out in my pocket, and luckily was found ( after SpyderCo sent me a replacement free of charge). No sign of factory loctite at all, which we all know they use blue. A bit disappointing. I’ve never had this issue from SpyderCo before.
This is a nice lookin Spyderco...nice blade geometry! would love to see it with a compression version but that would likely require steel liners right? That said, refreshing to see one of their line that is also thin height-wise when closed versus a huge hump.
They could use Titanium liners (i think they did that with the Caribbean?!) Or they could also make the Liners out of LC200N Edit: the liners on the Caribbean are in LC200N not titanium!
Mega - no way to know just how much maintenance is needed until disassembled. Plus at a certain point it is a guide for anyone who owns this specific knife and wants to take it down
That would be great, I agree but I highly doubt he has any knives that have been worked to the bone, his hands look soft as a baby's ass.. No offense to nick, I love the videos!
After watching this video, I'm disassembly my siren and only took around 3 minutes, and 1 minutes to assembly... If you know the trick it's so easy to maintenance
You must have shit in your eyes mate, this is one of the best looking spydie blades out there, im guessing you like that ugly as hell hump or ugly leaf shape blade most spydies have.
Nick has taught me, through his videos, not to take some knives apart.
I like how you took the time to find a pry bar to match the liners. Thanks
woptucci lol
That wasn't a pry bar. That was piece of the liner/back spacer from the 1st one he tried to get apart and shattered. LOL
Obv I am JK!!
The one thing I learned from this video? Unless mine gets hopelessly filled with fish scales...I'm never taking it apart.

Your disassemble videos are second to none...
Great video once again Nick.
Nick, thank you so much for posting these types of videos. I've learned so much and it's been helpful, really helpful. Thanks.
Ah the mark of a high quality knife: cannot be disassembled easily.
Real-time , real problems, but you got there in the end . Well done .

Jinx Jax beat me to it. Noice.

Thanks for the review Nick! This taught me to stay the hell away from the Siren!!!!!
Favorite blade design from spyderco!
Sir, you may not know how the knife is made but you definitely know how it should be made.
Like the handel shape an color hope they do this on more handles an other colors.

I am already done with this knife just from watching the disassembly xD
Get matching punch pins so that you can tap out the pivot and screws rather than prying and damaging parts would make it a lot easier
I want it so much..
Thanks for sharing...
Nothing to be alarmed about ;)
Badum - tss
As Bruce Lee used to say, “be like water!”

Is it possible to center the blade actually?
Hey first. Thanks for another great video nick.
There's a little sadism in ya lol jk thanks for the video
Nick, looked like a new knife that needed no maintenance. Be great to see some real maintenance please.

I am disappointed.
I was expecting to hear The Nick's battle cry : I am the human and I will win.
There is no challenge to great for the maestro, right?
Remember, never force it. Use a bigger hammer.
After watching this video, I'm disassembly my siren and only took around 3 minutes, and 1 minutes to assembly...

Not sure what everyone is so scared about. This is pretty typical. I wouldn’t want my knife to just fall apart one the screws were out.
12.56 ?
At this point, i won't disassemble my siren. Ugly is disassemble. And fact that you never comment.
Would've been nice to see a steel insert for the washers to slip on rather than the G10. Probably not a big deal with a back lock, but still.
The pivot pinches the washers against the G10.
So here’s a knife I won’t be getting. Smh Spyderco
I kind of miss the days of you grossly over oiling.
Mr. Apple he still does,. Must’ve been feeling conservative today
You want to really throw a teenager ask them to call you on the telephone.
One of SpuderCo's worst looking knives ever. Hard to say as I am a huge fan of LC200N.
Oh, Spyderco. You've done it again. Such a beautiful handle, and you paired it with such an ugly blade...
You must have shit in your eyes mate, this is one of the best looking spydie blades out there, im guessing you like that ugly as hell hump or ugly leaf shape blade most spydies have.
