This song is awesome, I love it! I'm Bosnian and when I found out about this band (as Omar's new project then) I was so confused by the name, I thought someone there must be Bosnian too and then I learnt no one in the band was even European - strange! Later I read an interview where Omar explained the origins of the name and it did make sense then, it's a beautiful metaphor.
Y mis felicitaciones a Teri! Amo su voz! Y al resto de ustedes! Funcionan perfectamente juntos!
This band is lovely.... Just as are many indie bands these days.. It's awesome to find these music gems, please don't waste energy trying to bash them or argue other wise because it doesn't matter. Music is music just like art is art. The only thing that matters is perception. All of ours are different.
I was one of those people who refused to listen to Bosnian Rainbows because of the whole Mars Volta break up drama, but then I watched them play live and holy shit!!!!!
kittypizzadude at least we're getting new ATDI until that day comes. Hoping they do more with TMV after this tour and album come out. can't come soon enough
@@LeftForTheRain yeah but their new material kinda sucks in my opinion. I haven’t liked an album they put out since Bedlam in Goliath. I’m a lifelong drummer and Jon Theodore was a big part of why I got into the band, I really liked Thomas Pridgen too despite him being a bit too flashy and bonkers live. The guy they have now is really lackluster in my opinion and I just don’t like their new music. Their new music has no energy like the old stuff. 🤷♂️
@@grizzlywhisker I know exactly how you feel actually, I've been listening to atdi and Tmv for a long time and their new stuff is nothing like their old they're too poppy now. At least I'm not the only one that feels this way. I feel the same about coheed and cambria their new album is very pop oriented I saw them live in wilmington recently and they were still awesome but wish they catered towards their old material. Awesome that you drum keep on playing music I love to see it
@@LeftForTheRain that’s interesting you mention Coheed and Cambria, I’m not super familiar with their music but I know who they are. They actually got one of my all time favorite drummers, Chris Pennie (not sure if he's still in the band, but he probably is.) He was originally the drummer of a super technical hardcore metal type band called Dillinger Escape Plan, and his drumming with that band was super influential to me and some of the most advanced stuff I’ve ever heard. When he left Dillinger and joined Coheed, it was a totally different type of music (more pop oriented like you mentioned) that didn’t really give him the opportunity to shred like used to, and it left Dillinger with a massive gap that could never be totally filled by any drummer they had since he left.
I've just realized that seeing the world while listening for your music does another effect. That's been the great soundtrack of these last foolish days of my life. This song helped me to find a new happiness.
I love this band name. I'm not biased, but it evokes something really cheerful, good and bright. Something that goes beyond Bosnia, it transcends every concept and embraces every human. I can feel that in your music. / a Bosnian rainbow🏳🌈

He is best known for being the guitarist and bandleader of The Mars Volta from 2001 until their breakup in 2012, and is currently the guitarist for the alternative rock group Bosnian Rainbows.
Well Omar was born in Puerto Rico, the girl Teri is Mexican, and Deantoni is from Georgia. Not sure about Nikki. But yeah their name is kinda random as often is the case with band names.
I saw these guys on their 20th ever show in England when they were ORLG and met Deantoni and Nicci after the show and shook hands with Omar and Teri, they are honestly the coolest guys, Nicci was super funny too. If you're making an opinion on these guys without seeing them, you seriously need to go to a show, I had never heard the music before and it was the single greatest experience of my life, videos and recorded music just isn't the same you really need to catch them at a show

Thank you for the wonderfull show in Amsterdam last night!!! I'm so in love with all the new music!! I can't wait to get the album soon!!! Keep on rocking!!!
I want my favorite artists to keep mixing it up I LOVE ATDI and MARS VOLTA now I might have another love in my life. Thanks for not selling out yourself and continue to be in bands for the soulless reasons like money and twitter followers!
Conocí este proyecto meses atrás en un concierto de los Yeah Yeah Yeahs y son muy buenos en vivo, en particular esta canción me gusto mucho esta nueva propuesta de Omar y Teri.
I can't believe all the negative comments on this. If anyone has followed Omar's musical evolution over the past 20 years, why are people so surprised? The songwriting here is spectacular, more than can be said about a lot of TMV's recent work (aside from the new one, Noctourniquet. That was superbly written). Don't fucking sook when a musician leaves a band. Obviously, it wasn't working. Why force yourself to stay playing in a band you are unhappy playing in? Seriously people.
Even though this band caused Mars Volta (one of my all-time favorite bands) to split, I must admit this is a good song. I'll probably end up getting the album. Bloody Omar Rodriguez-Lopez being a musical genius, even his ill-advised vanity projects turn out good!
As you said the video its a lot of photographs put in together with a sequence, there are cameras that have special mode for "fast burst" multiple shots
I think this song is about Omar. Teri says "I don't know, Turtleneck, where you've been all my life. But I feel, Turtleneck, that you're leaving me behind/beside." I think Omar is Turtleneck because he has a long turtle like neck. It could be Teri's term of endearment for Omar. She possibly wrote it when The Mars Volta was still together and she felt like he was "leaving her behind" when off on tour without her. Just my theory. This is a great song.
This song is burning with emotion - very good (both "singles" are promising...so keenly away the album). The guitar riff at 1.00-1.10 is brilliant - simple and yet seamlessly enhances the song.
Exactly. John Frusciante is still an artist even if he decides to avoid commercial music. Tesla is still an inventor discovering things even if he avoided commercial viability, arguably more so than Edison in ways.

Closer to ATDI
cowpiekiller True, true. But at the same time, it's still closer to TMV then Bosnian Rainbows is
yet, TMV lyrics are way more raw/deep and dark, at least most of them.
