these shows are the best most creative music ever in music history--- Omar is a legend... this band he has put togeather here is pure perfect chemistry...
Deantoni isnt playing the music its like he is the music and the drums are an extension of his body mind and soul. This guy is intense. His style unmatched.
This is the 100000th time I listened to this. And it does NOT get old. Every time I listen to it, my mind orgasms and I hear new stuff everytime I listen to it. This exceeds perfection!
Juan keeping it together for all of them crazy breakbeat stuff. Juan is da man! This perfomance is as good as i have ever seen. People that were there, witnessed greatness.
I'm revisiting footage from this show. I was in attendance that night and i would normally have been under the influence of some kind but i was sober and it felt like i was being lifted off in a spaceship that night. It's still the best live performance i've ever seen.
Same! I come back every 6 months or so to enjoy this, I saw Omar and Volta/adjacent acts over a dozen times but I still remember this show so fondly compared to the rest. I miss when Omar did more of this kind of music
to me this is def. a visitation of what pioneered rock into what it is today. this calls back to the time of syd barret and hendrix, and the bands of that time....bringing rock and roll to the fore front once again, and through such experimentation gives birth to new forms of music. it's awesome.
How is it not expressive? It sounds frustrated to me then grows to unleash itself and really open up. The next feeling is then cool and collected. It's beautiful.
What a seriously TIGHT performance! ...alternating between Parks true to the mili second & then dancing ALL AROUND the one! Juan Alderete de la Peña is a fucking HERO! Awesome quality for a recording off the board too! Glad I found this! :]
Man they got it RIGHT! I had almost lost faith with TMV and omar.. But this series is beyond awsome. THANK YOU FOR REVIVING MY HOPE. Such incredible music, hope it comes to album/DVD... Loving Ximena and Deantoni parks
Pepole who doesn’t apreciate the totality of an art work cataloge the drums for example as their favorite thing, thinking that is the intention whith these one... All instruments in this song are incredible but; you know sometimes ego is the only think that pepole see in an artwork
That words of false equivalence comes from your deduction... I still remember my emphasis on showing the ego of saying: "the drummer carries entre band to victory"... But how childish it sounds. It would be How to equate to a Superman the work of parks as he where the principal instrument without perceiving the incredible atmosphere that proliferates from the entire group; I'm assuming you're picking up a lead vocal that trance-inducing everyone, including the genius drummer, into a stupor. Well... I think you have to study a work of art more and not speak so lightly. Maybe working as a team will lead you to the perception and affinity to understand comments like this
You sound really pretentious when you talk like that. It’s okay to make humorous comments appreciating the featured instrumentalist in a piece. You’re being a bummer, friend. Relax.
The first time I heard this I was at university (college for you americans) and tripped out so hard that my head bobbed forward very slowly and as soon as the music stopped it felt like a bucket of cold water had been splashed on me and reality arrived
I understand completely that this music is not for everyone, but as an avid fan of experimental psychedelic prog rock, this is right up my alley. Sometimes I get a bit worn out from the off beat technical drumming and need a more groove-oriented jam, but I fuckin love this too.
Sometimes you got that feeling, the feeling of everything being exactly right. You can't explain why it is right, but it is. Sometimes you can get that feeling with music. But not with these musicians, They'll always give you this feeling, it's something organic, woven into their act. An orgasmic arangement executed with so much energy, that it will take some time to come back to the planet called The Earth. Always fresh and new to surprise you and make you explore the music landscape a further
I know it's so easy to "WOW, DEANTONI PARKS!" through this video, but hats off to Juan Alderete for holding it together and actually managing to keep track of where the 1 is, even if Mr Parks is going off on one. That takes some focus.
The song is called My horror is in park, drive me away troubled heart. Find the album Dōitashimashite, it's a live album and the title is written in japanese I think. I saw this live once, mind blowing stuff!
@philipkolbo Its called, 'My horror is in Park, Drive Me Away Troubled Heart' and is from the album 'どういたしまして'. Click on the link in the description and its the 3rd album on the page!
This song is on "Doitashimashite" which is an awesome live album. Another good live album with a similar lineup is "Los Suenos De Un Higado". For his somewhat poppier, more accessible side, check out "Cizana De Los Amores" and "Xenophanes". More trippy, psychedelic stuff on "Un Escorpion De Perfumado" and also kinda "Tychozorente". "Cryptomnesia" and "Mantra Hiroshima" are awesome math-y albums that feature Zach Hill. After that, I'd say it's just a matter of tackling them all one at a time haha
@windu122 This song is called "My Horror is in Park, Drive Me Away Troubled Heart." There is no studio version but you can find this exact version on Dōitashimashite. There's two other unreleased tracks but the rest of the songs are found on Solar Gambling, Cizana de los Amores and Tychozorente,
by now there is a studio version of that song and im pretty sure the live version is not the one seen on this video. i remember comparing those two when they got out and i still remember them being quite different... drums and guitar vice. the drums are so different on the live cd
Holy shit this is great. Right to the brink here and pulling it back before it goes too far over the edge, back and pounding forward with more amazing.
I'm going to delude myself and believe that this actually took place in black and white, because I feel like that makes the atmosphere of these particular musical events just that much more awesome.
MY HORROR IS IN PARK, DRIVE ME AWAY TROUBLED HEART! great song. i think i would collapse if i saw this live, then i would continue to writhe on the ground all night.
This is... this is really good. I'm no musician, but I know this is really good, and I don't need to explain the why to anyone. It should be self evident.
Just for everyone praising Jon Theodore so much, I used to be like you until I learned that a lot of his stuff on Deloused is based on stuff already done by Blake Fleming (original TMV drummer) like a lot of Eriatarka and Cicatriz. Personally I think Theodore and Pridgen are both great, Bedlam is my second favourite album after Deloused, drumming on Metatron is perfect. I agree Pridgen can overplay though. Can't wait for their next album with this guy.
such great music to my ears, if i was part of the crowd i'd have to be jumping. nothing like good music to make the soul feel at peace. i love youtube so much
My boy Juan holding that tempo like a motherfucking champ
Him and Marcel are holding down that bass line during the madness.
My mom came into my room while i was listening this , and she asked me WHOS ON DRUMS ...
9 years later that's still best thing anyone could have said walking into a room with this on lol
@@rustyshackleford8063 ten and counting, still is
I just heard the name Omar Rodriguez and took a look, that's what I was thinking.

Deantoni is officially the best drummer I have heard in my life!!!!!!!!
This is the 100000th time I listened to this. And it does NOT get old. Every time I listen to it, my mind orgasms and I hear new stuff everytime I listen to it. This exceeds perfection!
I can’t believe it’s been this long since I let this performance melt my brain. Gracias a dios por Omar y deantoni
5:00 Juan realizing he's on stage with Omar Rodriguez Lopez and Deatoni Parks and that he's Juan Alderete bass player extraordinaire!!! lol
La risa de Juan -Diciendo : "Somos los mejores y serán para siempre".
musical joy is a beautiful thing
Juan keeping it together for all of them crazy breakbeat stuff. Juan is da man! This perfomance is as good as i have ever seen. People that were there, witnessed greatness.
Omar has been a huge influence on my entire conceptualization of music.. just a great musician.. good bless
I can't stop coming back to this video. This might be the greatest recording of anyone ever.

This drummer is so in the pocket it's insane!
I do not know who to choose as my fav drummer. Gavin Harrison or Deantoni Parks. What a display from the last one
Honestly, hes my favorite bassist of all time, the dude is phenomenal!
We have to keep him in our thoughts and prayers and hope he pulls through this. Love you Juan

B. In a trance from all the energy and excitement.
Otro cosa ... gracias eternas Omar.
the drummer does well to keep it all going and flood us with texture...quite the crazy tune...loving the escalation!!

Excellent- I was captivated the entire time.

I will never be able to get over this performance. Inhumane.
This is the absolute best song Omar has ever created. It's perfect in every way
Gregg Rodriguez wrong
i watched this so many times, that I know each person's facial expressions from the audience :D lucky kids
This is dope. Deantoni's drums are great. Omar's creativity, otherworldly singer, Juan Alderte on bass. the effects, keys...I loved this jam.

OMG I LOVE YOU!!!. I have been looking for some sort of a studio version of this FOREVER. thank you thank you thank you
Is there an album or something online? Is it on streaming? I need it on Spotify

I thought it was Horror at first
Omar sabía qué tenia un buen baterista, larga vida deantoni; de los mejores que he conocido. Todo un crack y fuera de este mundo.

A good bassist is what keeps a band together, I totally agree and it's really hard to find one that will settled for that and still enjoy doing it.
This gives rest to my fears of the music being put out today. Thank you
