the last 10 years of the show had the best energy and vibe 2004-2014 when they say the internal tensions were at their worst. Maybe that was the secrete to the chemistry? The show seemed more contrived and not as interesting way back in the day when they were all really pals.

These are some of the very best bits of Anthony & Jimmy. Although Opie is a black hole that sucks the humour out of everything, even he couldn't ruin this comedy goldmine.
Doyle Hodges Yes exactly. God damn I hated when Jimmy started with those bullshit characters. The occasional chip or uncle Paul was ok at first when it was just little comments but for fucks sake, after a while there were so many and it was so often it killed it for me. People love to hate Opie but he played a role, the show was great Jim and Ant bringing the funny and Opie bringing the mean and cringe and to keep the show moving along. Without Opie you end up with Ant and Artie sitting there laughing non stop at themselves and running the same joke into the ground because no ones there to move it along.
All good points. There needs to be a coordinator of some sort when you've got a bunch of creative talent like that. Opie served his purpose. Jimmy was funny but Chip and all that shit was unbearable.. He lucked out with that whole gig. Anthony too. It was a great mix of components none of which is the best on it's own. Most of the best things come and go and are only recognized and truly appreciated fully years later.
This is one of my favorite breakes in Opie and Anthony history. Anthony is one of most funniest people in the world. I Re-listen to this at least five times a year.

These are some of the very best bits of Anthony & Jimmy. Although Opie is a black hole that sucks the humour out of everything, even he couldn't ruin this comedy goldmine.
Actually these old bits rule because Jimmy knew his place back then, and wasnt constantly tagging the material, or using shitty character voices.
Doyle Hodges Yes exactly. God damn I hated when Jimmy started with those bullshit characters. The occasional chip or uncle Paul was ok at first when it was just little comments but for fucks sake, after a while there were so many and it was so often it killed it for me. People love to hate Opie but he played a role, the show was great Jim and Ant bringing the funny and Opie bringing the mean and cringe and to keep the show moving along. Without Opie you end up with Ant and Artie sitting there laughing non stop at themselves and running the same joke into the ground because no ones there to move it along.
All good points. There needs to be a coordinator of some sort when you've got a bunch of creative talent like that. Opie served his purpose. Jimmy was funny but Chip and all that shit was unbearable.. He lucked out with that whole gig. Anthony too. It was a great mix of components none of which is the best on it's own. Most of the best things come and go and are only recognized and truly appreciated fully years later.
This is one of my favorite breakes in Opie and Anthony history. Anthony is one of most funniest people in the world. I Re-listen to this at least five times a year.

Nick Rodriguez I don’t know about that Opie is radio gold. He’s been doing this since he was 18 years old he knows how to run a radio show. In my Opinion Opie is one of the funniest guys on radio. Also the way he keeps everybody in check and doesn’t let anybody go overboard. The way he steers the ship of the radio show is really important I think he is one of the greatest guys on the radio and podcasts.
