Decline in reselling/interest on sneakers is great news for those who cop to rock. Can't wait for the yellow toe to release! Nike's horrible materials and build quality are a testament that they don't really care for it's consumers because they know that their products will still sell. A good example is the recent nike dunks that have just horrible quality and yet still sell. It's all about the dollars
I think the decline in resell prices, the hype of the jordan 1s and overall interest in sneakers are partly due to the increasing retail prices of jordans, another reason I see is that people have become so used to or fatigued over the weekly nonstop releases of a new colorway of the jordan 1 or a dunk that you’ll just be “meh” when you see a dunk you didnt know just released a day or a week ago also i see the rise of new balance and ald as a factor too, as people start to own new balances like the 550s, 990s, and such and overall fashion trends right now shift towards classic 60s-80s sneakers with the vintage vibe and just overall people right now look for older models and vintage shoes like dunks from 10 years ago
The SBB color blocking pairs have always had some of the more better leather…I’ve only owned the pine greens and court purples but these look similar. Oh and I heard the bred toes were decent too.
I fell in love with these the second I saw them so I had to cop them, sadly I caught on L on snkrs day but when I saw that the resale is really not much higher than retail on stockX I had to grab a pair
@@JoshDominic Also they look amazing with that lace swap you threw on them in your vid, I love it! I know what I'll be doing with those spare eggshell laces I got with my Visionaire 1's, it's going to look sick! Great vid bro, keep it up!
@@Neil-qg9cw It does but sadly I'm working when they drop so I will miss it, would've passed if the resale was stupidly high but I only paid £30 more over the retail price so not really an issue.
My theory about the quality is that JB just puts out such a high volume of pairs, that the only way to maintain consistency across a high volume release is to drop the level of quality. So high volume GRs tend to have lower quality materials, while lower volume releases tend to have higher quality materials. Also, I think they use this conversation about quality as a way to bump sales of less popular colourways. If sneakerheads are used to getting crappy quality leather from JB / Nike, we flip out when we hear that a pair is getting nicer feeling materials and softer leathers, which is maybe why less hyped shoes like these, the Visionaires, the Pollens, the Brotherhoods, the Light Fusion Reds, the Handcrafteds, etc get better materials. Because they're produced in lower volumes and are less hyped than a Mocha, but sneakerheads will still cop for the "quality".
The leather quality differences can be contributed to Jordan cost cutting. They source the "cheapest possible premium leather" for these GR jordans. Different locations of where the leather is sourced. Different tanneries making the leather, etc.
The pricing on these I expect nothing less than A1 quality I don’t know why there’s inconsistencies it is an interesting comment Josh I’m looking forward to reading others opinion and hearing yours.
Bro in the UK the price has gone up £20 this year! Which is way above inflation, they are really ripping us off! Same with the OG lows, which now cost the same as the highs did 2 years ago. At least this cw is the best in a long time
Great review as always. If I don't hit on these, easily #1 disappointment of 2022 brewing... Just curious, with the decline in the sneaker market have you also seen a decline in interest in sneaker videos?
If you need to choose between these and air Jordan 1 heritage (red one) which one will you choose, I'm looking for more universal one, so I can wear them with everything
I’ve copped without liking them that much but when they arrived yesterday I was personally impressed by everything you said. I don’t know what to do… to many pairs already 🥲 And regarding quality… I like what Chris from WearTesters say: Nike and Jordan are the only ones consistently inconsistent in quality. I like the phrase not obviously what we get as consumers 🤓
Hi. Is there a difference in the air Jordan 1 low - triple white. How many styles are there for the white lows. Example on the Nike App - there are 2 types of triple white lows. What is the difference - and I’m not referring to the G(golf) variant.
I think the discussion regarding leather and sneaker quality is interesting. I started copping a lot of sneakers this year, before that, I actually copped a lot of dress shoes, some made to order etc. I have never seen a single dress shoe worth its weight selling for under $300 unless if there are defects etc. In most cases, you are not getting calf leather which is better quality that waxed or other types of leathers commonly used on shoes in that price range. To get leather to speak of in dress shoes, you are playing around $400 + easy. Another issues I don't understand is the comparison between smooth leather and suede. That is not the same discussion at all in terms of cost, longevity etc. I have copped 7 NB kicks along with near 40 pairs from drops between this year and and last, I truly expect what I pay for. Out of 4 990v3s I have issues on 3 of them around the toe box and one had glue in the back, I hardly ever hear complaints on NB so this was kinda surprising. None of the issues in anything I got warranted returning. Nike and Jordan brand does a lot of bold creative stuff regarding materials etc and yes you will find they crease and age different depending on the particular drop. I just don't expect better leather than what they put out for $200. I have releases that excite me and some that don't but I never harp on leather on a tennis shoe under $200.
I dunno if my standard is too low, but I don’t find the quality on mine that much better compared to some I have. Like the Patina and the Smoke Grey (the baby union) both have good materials I think. Although the texture is different on the Taxi, I’ll give it that.
@@JoshDominic Thanks man for replying! Also is the leather used on GoreTex Jordan as good as or better than the leather used on Taxis, or are both the same?
i have no idea, sometimes bad colorways like the brotherhood are made out of bad leather and like the mochas, sometimes hyped colorways are also bad leather, maybe its a logistics issue? idk
talking about nike quality, i won the tom sachs gps on the aug 5th restock, and after receiving it i wore it the next day and the soles are already separating from the brown midsole. super disappointed in that. just copped the taxis a few days ago and hopefully qc on the pair is decent
Love the color blocking great quality- but still decided to get rid of them - I don’t know with all the bad J1 that came out over the past weeks my interest in new J1s just dipped.
Did these drop in Asia as well as EU? Copped a pair early from SX, after my Flight Club Order was Cancelled 2 times 5 minutes after placing it/them taking my money (🙄) and my Bank said the issue was on their end. Been a full week, still haven't heard a thing from them in response to my email. So I skipped GOAT as well, not wanting to risk my funds getting trapped up for as long as a week or whatever... Copped a 10 on SX for a solid price of $219... They came in for authentication, passed, and were shipped out to me the other day... I thought the DHL emails I saw pop up were just spam or possible phishing attempts and ignored them, but turns out my pair shipped from fuckin Hong Kong. Yes, I know SX has a HK location now, but why would they have shipped from there? Is it cheaper for them to have the seller (I'm guessing from the EU, unless Asia got a drop too) ship to them in HK for them to authenticate and hen ship to me in the Midwest US via DHL Express over having the seller ship to say... The Detroit location (nearest to me) to be authenticated and then shipped out via UPS? It just sketches me out, and if anything at all is off with them, they can expect a chargeback. I sell more on eBay anyway as a Top Star member, and this is only the 3rd pair I've ever copped from SX over the years I've had the account. No fucking way am I going to be ok if they come in and are reps I paid fucking re-sale for simply to have them early. If I wanted reps, I could have grabbed a decent pair for almost $100 less, but I paid their price for the real thing. I'm guessing between Nike literally getting 4 pairs of fake Nikes/Jordans from SX in the span of 1 month proven in court docs + SX's "100% Authentic Guarantee" that's EVERYWHERE would give me some sort of leg up when it comes to getting my money back if they aren't legit? If anybody has experience with this, please let me know. I'd rather not risk having my account shut down completely, because although I do use eBay quite a bit both buying and selling (probably over 50 pairs total in the last 2-3 years, no issues buying or selling) I've had issues with both GOAT and FC who are under the same umbrella now anyway... So having SX there to sell is always a nice option. But I'm not, and never will be ok with receiving a pair of reps when I pay over (authentic) retail for a Sneaker when pretty damn good reps can be found for a nice chunk less from what I do know. Shit, I'm guessing I probably could have grabbed a pair of rep Yellow Toe 1s + a pair of rep Yeezy Slides/Foam Runners or possibly even a pair of rep SB Dunks or something. Again, if I wanted reps... Which I obviously do not if I paid over authentic retail for this pair. I'll definitely be trying to cop 2 pairs when the US release hits though. One from Nike, one from FL or any other shop around that gets them in. Many think these may sit when they drop in the States or will at least be super easy to cop, but we'll see.
Quality changes because of cost cutting, "how can we make this shoe cheaper for maximum profit". And colorways they probably back more like these and any other super hyped pairs that they expect to do good probably get a bit less of the cost cutting then the basic gr that they're putting out to just put out.
i mean if you think thats bad, some of the GR 550s release with synthetic leather while other colorways have genuine leather... it doesnt make any sense lol
Nike outsources a model to different factories. Nike chooses the factory that produces the best pair and then signs contract to make XX amount of pairs. I assume the other factories’ pairs are sold as UA

I started leaning over to new balance too this year and also got tired off the pricing on yeezys and Nike increases. It feels as if they think some AJ1s will sell just on colorway alone. N then they’ll put no effort/money into the materials (ex: dark marinas feel terrible and crease ugly)
I've never understood why folks lose interest because of "too many" releases of a particular model, don't like, don't buy. Regarding leather quality, leather is a animals skin after all, so expecting consistency would be absolutely impossible, sadly.
Everybody said these were gonna be the New Shattered Backboard... Look at them. They barely over retail People were deftly Wrong... And this looks alot like Shinedown 1... And Shinedown 1 most expensive Air Jordan ever made. But still, looks like Ppl don’t want these The Resell Market has really changed.
I'd cop those if they were reselling for $500 or more. Below $250 they are kinda wack tbh. Sucks that StockX won't allow me to place a bid for over $500. I'm trying to cop right if/when they start trading over that price. Below $250 I'm gonna have to say the colorway is weak, AJ1's are played out and the quality is poor even though I've never seen them.

Hey... Taxiiiiiii!!!
They barely over retail
People were deftly Wrong...
And this looks alot like Shinedown 1...
And Shinedown 1 most expensive Air Jordan ever made.
But still, looks like Ppl don’t want these
The Resell Market has really changed.
You rock em so bad....
Because it doesn’t matter what the Jordan brand do people still buying the shoes! And the you tubers like you buy and used for a content!
I'd cop those if they were reselling for $500 or more. Below $250 they are kinda wack tbh. Sucks that StockX won't allow me to place a bid for over $500. I'm trying to cop right if/when they start trading over that price. Below $250 I'm gonna have to say the colorway is weak, AJ1's are played out and the quality is poor even though I've never seen them.
is this sarcasm? SO you only buy shoes if they resell for more than $500?
@@JoshDominic this dude not a sneakerhead. He's a hypebeast. His comment wild af
