you can wait until indonesia new capital establish, at least they are in the same provinces with this lake, which will reduce the cost if you transit in the airport. but I am sure it will still cost you a lot, even for an average indonesian like me it's much cheaper to just going to australia twice than visiting this lake, other than that it's located in protected area, so it'll be hard to reach this area by using car or any vehicles. but I wish you can visit this lake soon 👍
@@terramater I know! I really hope that the majority of people mostly the more powerful and richer ones who have the capability to help the environment notice how important protecting the environment is, stop the habits which makes it worse and start new ones that make the environment better. The Philippines which is my country is said to be mega diverse which is great but my country is really facing environmental issues such as population decline in plants and animals, pollution, habitat loss and climate change caused by human activities like deforestation , hunting and dynamite fishing which I really hope would be fixed in the future. Sure the amount or organisms here are a lot compared to other countries and there are even a huge amount of endemic species here but if the said issues won't be helped, they might be wiped out making being "mega diverse" mean nothing which is what I am worried about.
The underwater lake environment looks so pristine and untouched, uncorrupted by any human interference. And the way the Golden Jellies behave like farmers looks so beautiful! I hope that people can see this lake as a standard for all underwater ecosystems
Ngl, this science channel is pretty decent and horribly underrated. I'm pretty entertained by the place and the information flow, and damn I wish this is how online educational modules would be.

But I had never seen it so clear and vivid like this. Your camera and videography brings the scenary to a whole new level. Breath-taking! Well done!

Wow, that lake looks like an amazing place to go diving. Hopefully I can manage to do so one day. I just hope that this lake will not get destroyed by tourism, as amazing as it is I'd rather see it only in documentaries than risk straining the local ecosystem too much.

I've been there before at 2013. I went there for my church's christmas trip (Since Indonesia had no winter soooo). And I've swum with them and even touched them XD. However, since I was kinda afraid of them, instead of holding them facing upwards, I hold them upside down, leaving their tentacles facing upwards :"). I was still very young at that time tho so... But when one of the people who came with me hold them with the jellyfishes' tentacles facing downwards, her hand went itchy afterwards, maybe due to the small amount of sting the jellyfish had stung her. But due to my experience, it is a worthy place to visit. I mean, when can you actually swim with jellyfishes beside you :D
I want one. Imagine it, a pet jelly fish, and if breeded correctly could be small enough to fit in a fish tank. Also, if one thinks about it, the jelly fish that fallows the sun can be considered to have primitive eyes. Basically the allege is their eyes, more, or less. So, that's something. With those millions of years from now it could revolve to a predator, in fact maybe a active one.
I've been here! They have strict regulation to protect the jellyfish such as you are not allowed to use sunscreen or other chemical to prevent contamination, it is forbidden to lift the animals out of the water, and even you are not allowed to jump into the water.
@@wellthismachinekills3809 No mistake here. The video mentioned that this is the Kakaban lake. It is located in a rocky island with the same name and part of an island group commonly known as Derawan Islands just off the coast of Borneo.
