OMG! A jellyfish without stinging cell can be the most adorable thing in the world!! Thanks for sharing the beautiful and amazing thing of the Blue World. You are the best!
I had the experience to swim there, something i will never forget. Palau is such a diving paradise. Only regret is that I had no underwater camera or any picture of the jellyfish lake, only memories.
I've seen two prior "professional" documentaries that included this lake and its jellyfish as part of their content (BBC and NatGeo). Neither of them had anywhere near the amount of information your video above includes. I thought I knew a lot about this lake, but your video showed me just how much I didn't know. Thanks for the info and scenery!
This is so cool! Jellyfish unique to one lake ecosystem is really interesting and kind of similar in my mind to certain cave fauna that are unique to only one cave. Keep up the good work!
Maybe not at that one specifically, but that phenomenon occurs in other places with distinct layers of still water, and it does kill divers. It happens in brine pools on the ocean floor, which can be filled with dead fish and crabs, and I believe it occurs in some cenotes (water filled caves) in the Yucatan peninsula.
Usually after I see you dive somewhere I think how amazing it would be to dive there. But after having some painful run ins with jellyfish, seeing you swim through them makes me cringe haha. I know they’re harmless, but the instinct is still there haha
Thank you for these videos! I struggle with anxiety and your channel calms me down and I always learn something new! I also want to earn scuba certification after I graduate college 😊 thank you THANK YOU for these! 🙏😊🤗
I was there in 2002 as a student missionary. Learned to scuba dive in yap island. Spent a year there an loved exploring all over yap and Palau. Jelly fish lake was an awesome experience!!
Hey Jonathan great to see another fantastic episode! My Mom and her hubby are on a cruise and one of their stops is one of your earlier episode destinations, Curacao!
Mr. Jonathan, you should visit our hometown in the Philippines. There are lots of tourists who travel from diff. parts of the world just to experience our WHALESHARK SIGHTING. Plus the marine life of our ocean is lit. You gotta try it. It would be an honor to have you visit us. Thank you and more power BLUE WORLD. PS. I've been watching you since then. I really love your show..
Just swimming with harmless jellies must be a cool experience. It looks so peaceful.
For me it doesnt, i love swimming but hate those things
For me as long as the jellies aren't venomous I'm good
@@arch455 they still sting (not these ones ofcouse)
Yes but I have a real big fear of jelly’s
Yeah I know right

They do but their stings are barely noticeable

Thanks for introducing me to diving, it made me pursue dive training and now I've just past my PADI Openwater! Thanks again, you guys are AWESOME!!
Why do people dislike this? They obviously don’t like to learn.
6:45 Hahaha! First time I'm hearing the use of the Wilhelm scream in a nature documentary. Brilliant, Jonathan! :D

This channel deserves more .
Very well put together, Jonathan, beautiful reportage. Thank you
Man I don't even know swimming, yet your videos just make me want to go scuba Diving😍
I wonder if any divers had to die to figure out that there was hydrogen sulfide on the bottom of a lake.
Only one. After that everybody saw the dead guy and said, "Nope not going down there."
@@SolidStateSoul I didn't sign up for this.

I always thought the lake was only jellyfish. I didn't know there was a lot of stationary animals and small fish in the lake too!
There is all kinds of stuff in there.
@@BlueWorldTV On the Love Nature channel it shows a Golden Bell Jellyfish caught by an anemone. Do anemones live the lake too?
Beautiful creatures who live a very simple life. Who knows if they are 'happy' but one day we might find out.
Also I LOVE YOU BIRD my mom does not like me watching you tube but when I showed her you she will let me watch anytime
