Thank you!! After 3 days of procrastination and 2 videos before I got to yours (which were not helpful), I did it! I haven’t felt this proud of myself in a while! 😂😄
Thank you so much! I have been procrastinating changing my wipers for 3 years because I thought it would be super difficult. Your video was super helpful, and it made it easy enough that I was able to do this during dusk hours haha :) Now I can make my 2 hour trip home in the rain and actually see xD
@@timhughes3684 Is it a hatchback? And do you live in the US? In the US, all hatchbacks come standard with a rear wiper, which it a big reason why I like hatchbacks. Where ever you live, the only place I can think of for parts that might remotely fit is a Mazda dealer. And that will be expensive.
Bob you have an excellent video and I have no complaint. The only complaint I have is with Mazda. I erred in the price. The driver side wiper ended up costing $44 and not $35. They are just as easy to replace by the way and thanks for the video.
@@BobKovacs I have since found out that Mazda has replacement rubber only for all their blades. Very easy to replace this rubber and it only costs $9.65. They never keep this part in stock because they think that most people are dumb and can't replace just the slide-out rubber part. That's the way I will be going from now on.
I figured it would be the same part and procedure for the Mazda6, but couldn't say for sure without actually seeing it myself. Thanks for the feedback!
Nice one. As I have not come across the first type of blades before. Hence I was cautious in even attempting to remove them. Grateful that I can replace '' like for like ''. With an online purchase. Appreciate the share.
You're welcome. And yes... I show how to replace the rubber wiper blade in my video on how to replace the rear wiper on a Mazda3. You can see that video here: ruclips.net/video/AdPY7gvn6e8/видео.html
Great video- any suggestions about how to replace the rear wiper arm on Mazda5. I got the nut off, but the arm wont budge off the bolt sticking up. Should I try a pulley tool thing?
Great question! No, removing the rear wiper is a completely different process. It's explained well in my car's manual, but I will make a video about it as soon as I get the chance.
Interesting but these were not OEM Mazda Blades. I cannot find the blades with the blade protection that the OEM blades have just like the factory original. I had to go to the dealer to get the exact style. They are very expensive at the dealer in Canada. $35.00 for the driver side.
In this video, I do show how to remove and re-install the OEM Mazda wipers. And I also show an aftermarket wiper. I thought that would hit most of the needs of viewers out there.
I watched this video and now my wipers are falling off. I don't know if I need the adapter it not and I threw them away after I thought I had them in properly. I'm screwed.
Many autoparts stores will install wipers for free, so maybe you should go to a nearby store. If the clerk knows what s/he is doing, you'll get the right wipers and they will be installed properly. Good luck!
Much cheaper if you can be bothered to replace rubbers only... look up 10mm refills for 3 section wipers.. you need 24inch and 18inch for Mazda 3, you can get them for around $2.00each on eBay
Of course, this video was to demonstrate how to remove and replace the wiper blade assembly. I do show replacing the rear wiper rubber blade in my tutorial on the rear wiper for this car.
I also have a video on replacing the rear wiper, which you can see here: ruclips.net/video/AdPY7gvn6e8/видео.html . In that video, I show how to get the rubber blade out of the wiper assembly and re-install a new one.
Unfortunately too many people replace a perfectly good oem wiper blade assembly with an aftermarket! Keep the original wiper and just replace the blade rubber! Nothing ever beats oem!
Yes, you make a good point. The problem is that it is easier to find replacement wiper assemblies than just the rubber wiper blade. If you can find them, the replacement rubber blades are what you want 90 percent of the time. This very point came up in my video on how to replace the rear wiper blade on this car, which you can see here: ruclips.net/video/AdPY7gvn6e8/видео.html
Hmmm. Lift the steel wiper arm up. On the driver's side: Put one hand on the top of the wiper and the other hand on the bottom. Rotate the wiper so that the top comes toward you and the bottom moves away from you. That should get the wiper to release from the plastic fastener at the end of the wiper arm. Once the wiper has been released from the fastener, there is a button/lever on the fastener that holds into the U-shape on the wiper arm. Press that button/lever and slide the fastener out of the U. Good luck!

Because of your video, I will try replacing my car's windshield wipers. Thank u for this video!!

This is exactly what I needed! I've been putting this off because I thought it would be a pain, but this isn't bad at all.

@@BobKovacs My mazda 3 doesn't come with a rear wiper, can I add one?

Mazda does not even tell their parts counter clients that the rubber part is replaceable. Comes in a plastic bag all coiled up for only $9.65.

I've never done it, but it's probably just stuck on really good. So yes, a pulley or gear puller should work.
Thanks for making this so easy to do!

Should be the same as what's in this video, at least if you have a US model.
I found the Mazda 3 by many magnitudes the most complicated and non intuitive wiper change I ever tried.
