    the JD-800 was the first Synth that teached me on sound analogy. i learned from it from zero. it introduced and opened me to science world of synthesis. unexplainably unbelievable.

    This is an amazing tutorial, thank you!. Would you consider doing more JD800 sound design videos?

    Great fun, and honestly very informative in how to dig in to the classic JD-800! Have 2x of these, and the awesome 990 rack with Strings Ensemble & Vintage Synths expansion welded in to it - untouchable time in digital synth history even today 😎👍🎹🎶🇬🇧💥🍻

    thanks for doing this one, and for not cutting out anything. showing the thought-process every step of the way and all the trial and error that goes into something like this, its not something that many channels do, so thanks for that :)

    INCREDIBLE! I knew the JD-800 was one of the coolest digital synths, but I didn't know it was THIS cool. Your homework idea is so inspiring! Love your teaching style. Thumbs up!

    That's EXACTLY the video I needed. Just bought Boutique and this is my first digital and wavetable synth. I like factory presets and sound presets that people sell but was a little confused how do I even start making my own patches. After watching this video I have some ideas how to start. Extended ADSR is a bit confusing too. I will definitly go watch Your deep dive video too. Thanks!

    Nu-Trix, thanks so much for this entertaining yet informative lesson. I have the hardware version of this wonderful synth but always love to learn new tricks on it ( See what I did there? Ya, don’t quit my day job) Also, love the TR-8s videos!

    Nice tutorial! It sounds like a married couple arguing: " Why did you bring me to this planet?" 😂

    Hi! Love your videos on my fav synth! Do you have a video going over exactly how the envelopes work? And how to emulate simple adsr.

    • @AboveEmAllProduction
      @AboveEmAllProduction 2 года назад +4

      maybe i should clarify, ive tried and tried, and cannot just get them to behave like normal adsr. and if so im not sure how =)

    • @crhkrebs
      @crhkrebs 2 года назад +3

      I agree, that would be great. Roland likes making very complex Envelope Generators that go beyond the typical ADSR. Same with the D-50. You really couldn’t do this sound with a normal ADSR.

    I am using the jd08, I use 1 part for synth, and another part using 4 layer each for a drum tone in a analog synth way. And it become a groove box.
    Like the pitch env that can make a shimmer reverb like sound.

    I wish it was possible to pan the sounds pre effects. Is there a way to do that? I have one and it would make it so huge !

    This video was very disappointing for me, because I thought you are going to show all the things you talk about in the beginning on an ACTUAL jd-800. There was nothing in the title to prepare me for the huge crash-landing when I saw you open that BS softsynth window. Please, don't waste people's time and rectify the omission of the word "software" in your title.

      Like it or not , the sound design tips I offer in this video are good for the soft and hard JD-800.

    Talked to my friend today who has a beautiful Studio and he bought $750 worth of patches
    6 months ago uncludig the JD800 and to day it said on his screen that cloud didn't recognize him and even
    after trying and trying to speak with Roland , he has a feeling he's talking to a robot and gtes answered everything from dumb to we don't care answers
    so don't buy no online cloud products from Roland , they have the worst customer service.

      I know Roland teams seems to answer quickly when contacted from inside Roland Cloud account. Did you try that?
