I live in Porto, Portugal and I was out in the street when the sky lit up green and blue, we all looked up in awe, just in time to see the meteor emerging through the clouds and displaying one of the biggest and most beautiful things I've ever seen!
It was a real treat!!!!!

The greenish light usually indicates the prescence of nickel, this may have been a meteor instead of a comet. Very beautiful.

@@ivaerz4977 A comet is largely a ball of ice with some loose rock frozen in with it. A meteor, on the other hand, is either a stony, stony/iron or iron/nickel composition. They are pieces of debris left over from Solar System formation or pieces of Mars, Moon or other planet that has been struck by a meteor. The Moon, with very little gravity and no atmosphere, is constantly being struck (no atmosphere to burn them up) and with very low gravity the pieces thrown up by impact don't come back down, they go flying through the interplanetary zone. Most meteors originate in the Asteroid Belt beyond Mars, and a great many comets originate in the Oort Cloud, a ring of ice chunks beyond Pluto. Cheers
