When I first saw this Hulk I was complete mind blown by how real and authentic he looked. He looked like an actual green-skinned person on screen. It was one of the most mind-blowing jobs in animation I'd ever seen. What's a real shame was how it was criticized and wasn't even nominated for best visual effects... WTF? Some people just have no respect for the amount of hard work people do to deliever us something awesome.

I think he was made to be a little too tall in this iteration, and also his facial structure is maybe too baby fattish, but what I really like about this version is his build, he's a HULK, muscular mass without the appearance of a huge gym rat, he's not cut but the musculature is very much there, additionally he is shown to struggle with enormous ungainly weight, his movement is also very lifelike, as in landing after a long jump
It’s a shame that we wont have a Hulk as grounded and relatable as Ang Lee’s. I was in Class/Grade 1 when I first saw the film and didn’t get shit, and I got super scared. Now I watched this film again recently and since then I have watched it 6 times. It’s so symbolic and so more rewatchable than the pathetic Incredible Hulk that every time I watch it I get awed to the fact that it’s far more than what I expected from a comic book movie. It breaks the boundary between a comic book movie and a good psychological thriller. Those who rated that movie 3 out of 10 had the same maturity as I had while I was in Class/Grade 1, because at that time, I hated it too. PS: My last line isn’t a compliment for those reviewers.

2003 version nailed the CG, in my opinion. 2008 looks "overproduced". There are some shots where 2008 looks impressive, and you can't deny the 5 years' advancements in ray tracing/shading technology but there are too many visible veins and detail and his eyes look like they have eyeliner.
Ray Tracing in CGI in which should not to be confused with Ray Tracing in games (DirectX 12), hasn't needed to change much. The time to render each frame was slow back then because GPUs simply where not fast enough. Now, even your phone has a GPU many times faster than what they used back then even if they had them in SLI/Cross-Fire. Marvel movies today are depend so MUCH on CGI that there isn't an emphasis on attention to detail or if they should even use CGI at all. Directors like you see in this movie used CGI as a tool, not a dependency. The most memorable and praised directors use genuine cinematography as the back bone of a film and only use CGI when necessary. Jurassic Park (1994) is epic because they only used CGI when needed while the rest of just simply practical FX and GREAT cinematography. Logan (2017) is the same thing. Less is more.

I think the ILM people did a very good job on this movie. By the time, It was one of the best CGI's I've ever seen.
